Something with ad breaks that you didn't see years ago but far too often now, are trailers for other tv shows appearing on the channel later that day or on another day. Sky Mix excelled with this tonight. Every ad break I saw this evening had a trailer for Landscape Artist of the Year, 'Tonight at 8', it said. Thing is, these were being shown in every break two hours after that programme had finished.

Enzo had just got a text from Top. 'Ffs, what you playing at, we'll be deducted points if we go up'

Just as someone asks, should we sack everyone and close the company down? Leicester score and you leap up and scream YES!

Apologies for Sunderland being on top atm, it all started with me finally finding a stream.

With absolutely no influence from myself, one of my grandsons is getting into the 1960s Batman TV show. The scenes with Catwoman are delicious.

We took our young children to a cattle market there, shortly before it closed for good. One of them needed the loo. I found one and opened the door. What greeted me was the most disgustingly filthy public bog imaginable and, as you'll appreciate, it was up against some pretty stiff competition. In fact, I would go as far to say it made that toilet in Trainspotting look like the pinnacle of cleanliness and hygiene. Needless to say we didn't use it.

Number one? If the planet is uninhabitable then equality won't matter to any of us. Also, during the progress of a dying Earth, inequality will be amplified far more. Poorer people, societies and nations will fall by the wayside first and the opposite true for the rest. Inequality needs to tackled but on an equal footing with climate.

I too thought Kin was very good. Like you also, then started with True Detective. As I've mentioned elsewhere in this thread, not too impressed. Interested to hear what you think when you start it.

I've wondered if that why there has been so little national coverage? Remember when that lady had slipped into a river whilst out with her dog, hundreds turned up to 'help'. Many of those had their own theories what had happened and where she could be found. Also, you had 'psychics' there who felt they could help and finally, loads of others there just so they could post selfies on Facebook and Instagram; 'Here's me, helping with the search'.

Some good news for a change.

Love to see this in slo-mo with the theme from Chariots of Fire playing.

Funny you should mention that. At that scene I turned to Mrs. FFF and said 'Nah, too big, prefer yours'. That said, I felt sorry for the copper being handcuffed so he couldn't get his hands on them.

Well, that just about covers it.

Have to agree. Following many recommendations on here, Mrs. FFF and I began series one. Watched two episodes so far and struggling tbh. Mrs. FFF is ready to bin it off but I'll give it a couple of more episodes. One thing that grates is the interminable, 'half speed', super laid back and totally unbelievable laconic portrayal of the Rust character. It gets tedious and predictable. Invariably, his response to a question will first be a slow and long draw on his cigarette. You have to hope he's lit it first or else that's something else you have to endure. He then will say his piece very very and r e a l l y slow ly. Get on with it!

Imagine one of the builders turning-up for the first day of the rebuild and pulling a spirit level from his tool bag. 'You can put that away mate, you won't be needing it.'

No adverts on the side of the pitch, just letters to show the half time scores elsewhere. Something that is long, long gone and will not be seen again.

If you look carefully, you can just spot a little bit of me at the bottom of the pic.

There was some figures released some years ago that showed 'economic inactivity' amongst ethnic communities - especially Pakistani - was higher in the country generally. I worked for the city council for many years and my role during the last few years, was to enable and encourage inclusion, including employment, for folk in many of the areas indicated on that map. I guess myself and my colleagues may have failed. However, many Asian and African families brought over elderly parents and other family members from areas such as Somalia, who's working days were well beyond them. Also, many others were 'coy' about any work they were actually doing, especially as they were claiming several benefits too. Therefore, it is possible they were less than honest on the census form and so the true results are distorted. This was also apparent in other areas of the city too of course, but were definitely moreso in the areas the map indicates.

Still got the sports mercury (Buff) from that day, with the match report.

Sorry to see it close for the reasons you mentioned. The shop has always been there for as long as I can remember and seemed a cosy reminder of the past. I started a thread some years ago about the shop and I recall a poster adding that the owner occasionally popped into their store on the High St, he would sometimes say he had only taken a pound all week! Perhaps surprising he kept it going as long as he did.
