  1. I don't mind any comparisons whether they are wide of the mark, too early or even have some merit. In fact, if they refer to a team 'Doing a Leicester' for the next umpteen years, it'll just remind all of what a truly outstanding achievement and benchmark it really was.
  2. I was behind one of those the other day. I was that busy admiring the superb 4k image on the screen and all the incredible detail it gave, I didnt notice it was braking. Nearly went into the back of it.
  3. .....the first side in the history of the English second tier to win their first six away league games of a season. BBC Sport. 'You'll never sing that'
  4. A true, true icon of the game. Many tributes and clips to demonstrate his greatness, so thought I would post something a little different. RIP Sir Bobby.
  5. Or 'See ya'. Give something for the defenders to read when we skim em.
  6. If they follow the Tories with the blame game, then quite sometime. Senior Tories were still blaming the previous Labour administration well, well into their second term.... and beyond.
  7. Oooo, think I prefer the architecture of today..............NOT!
  8. Noddy Holder given 6 months to live, 5 years ago. Great news he's doing well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-6716153
  9. Gosh! That took me back. City 1 Irish 0 was the headline in the Mercury, after Englands win in the home internationals iirc. For younger readers, we had 4 players in that team. Edit: Shilton's gloves look like they were knitted by his mum. How times change.

  11. You say false and I assume it is all indeed, 'canned'. I saw a preview for Graham Norton Show a while ago and he was standing with his back to the audience whilst telling the viewer who his guest were. After he finished, there was raucous applause with plenty of yelling and whoo whoooing. However, you could see the audience merely just clapping behind him.
  12. Tis the opposite in our house. Several times already since before the end of August, I'm sitting with a T shirt on whilst Mrs. FFF complains she's cold. She has even put her dressing gown on over her clothes and curled up on the sofa. She has also lit a fire half a dozen times already. Our front room is like a bloody furnace sometimes. I made the mistake once of putting a thermometer in our lounge to prove it was hot (27 degrees iirc) but got short shrift. 'I don't care what it shows, I'm cold'
  13. Strange that. Decided to fly over the eastern part of Ukraine, where most of the hostility is, and then back through their airspace again for good measure. I thought flying over Ukraine was avoided by airlines currently?
  14. Tried to listen to it yesterday. Mmmmm.....
  15. Aww come on. A simple typo. 'You DID come to your appointment thereby.....
  16. Draught Excluder. I bet you could have got 5000-1 on that a few years ago on being a term used in a football match.
  17. I expect the Brum fans will give it to JV even more when we play them. Vardy hat trick incoming....
  18. I depise the Tories and that includes Braverman. However, Ashworths passionate repost on QT last evening could, actually, reinforce those who would argue multi-culturalism is failing. Every one of those festivals he mentioned are very partisan. Participation of colours, creeds and religions of folk other than those whose primary celebration it is, are exceptionally rare at these events. I spent 20 odd years working for the local authority and that included working with all communities in our city to be inclusive in most/all aspects of city life, resources and facilities. There are some great example of it happening but, equally, many where it is not. I believe Braverman said multiculturalism has failed. I wouldn't go that far but would suggest it could be failing.
  19. Wonder if it has (had?) a remote to operate it. Do you have Google Lens on your phone? If so, that will analyse it and come up with suggestions/similar products.
  20. One of those 'dots' is the ball after Huth's free kick that is.
  21. I'm not 100% but that may be the Great Central station.
  22. Tangerine Dream.
  23. Not then at the one I helped at. They have to be more 'targetted' now but abuse still happens. The only requirement when I was there was one bag per address. We also asked for folk to return the carrier bag the following week as we were always short. Most couldn't even be arsed to do that.
  24. Indeed. Mixing with some softwood is ok and it is good for kindling to get the fire going. Some wood, even hardwood, can burn poorly however. Google for best firewood for more info. Do not burn treated or painted wood. Not only can dangerous fumes seep into your room, tar can form in your chimney which is corrosive and can cause chimney fires.
