Well that could have gone better. They're improving as well. Anyhow we need to go there and win it! Go full strength 👊
-
Wycombe...for historical reasons.
-
Just shows the gulf between the Premier League and the Championship. Brighton and Bournemouth thumping sides with play-off ambitions, plus our good selves hitting QPR for six. There'll always be the odd upset, (Brentford) but generally I'd say there's quite a gap.
-
So pleased to see Ruud go full strength. I'll never be convinced about playing weaker squads in the cups. That win has got to be better for that set of players and the club generally as a moral boost, as opposed to playing a half and half squad, with QPR nicking it 1-0 aet. The only thing I would have done differently is include Alves, and for him to come on from the bench. Other than that definitely the right approach.

Villa (Away) Saturday 4th Jan 3pm (Match Thread)

I agree, but we're playing to our full capability. Apart from an individual error, we get a point away at Villa, and that's decent. -

To be fair we've done well today. A good battling performance. Yes very few chances created but great effort again. An individual mistake by Justin. Also Ayew great today notwithstanding the calls for Buonanotte to play, which I agreed with. -
I must be interpreting that one wrong. I thought the inference was it's that loud with Man. City voices, that it sounds like they're at home, but not you're as quiet as we are at home.
-
Yes after the Liverpool and Man. City performances, the Wolves performance just pains me more.
-
Another decent performance. Mavididi and Soumare in particular. Shame that Wolves have equalised. Tom Cannon 10th goal of the season 🤔

Liverpool 3-1 LCFC, post match thread

I didn't think that was too bad. I was pleased with the effort to a man. They battled to the very end, and it came down to a different level in quality. A complete opposite to the Wolves game which is such a shame; evenly matched teams, but only one with the effort. -
Sad thing is if we'd fought like that against Wolves, we'd have got something. Battling first half 👏

Well I'm sorted. Got my grandson an abacus for Christmas.

Brentford (A) Saturday 3pm - Match Thread
Twitcher replied to tcrofts's topic in Leicester City Forum
I hope Ruud's prepared for a re-build in the Championship, (with a pending points deduction??) as this lot are simply not good enough. They don't have the ability but more worryingly they don't want it as much as Brentford, and that's with the new boss looking on. Time for a huge clear out in the summer and to bring some youngsters through. Alves must be thinking wtf. -

Ruud checking his contract to see if there's a 14 day cooling off period. -
People querying why he's gone now when it was the Chelsea game that we'd have expected to lose. Well....I hope they've just watched the first half of Ipswich v Man. U. Ipswich, a team giving it a real go, playing for their manager, and full of passion.
-
The manner of the defeat. A lack of passion and devoid of ideas. Chelsea didn't break sweat.

Exactly this. We saw how long Rogers was given. I'd be amazed if anything happened before the end of March. -
I'll be amazed if we get anything, apart from a bloody nose. Sadly, Ipswich win all day long.

Post match - Man Utd Carabao Cup - 5-2 loss

Don't really know what the point of that was, and our participation in the competition. In stark contrast to Brentford who fielded a strong team and are after some silverware. If we really aren't bothered about it, then don't even risk first team sub's. My preference would be to play our strongest team, but if not, we may as well play kids. A battering just does the club no favours. Just adds to the downward spiral. So, if we aren't bothered, let's not try and hang in there with a halfway house team, just go kids. Could we have just not turned up, and taken a default 3-1 or whatever it is? I'd have preferred that. -
Wasn't sure where to ask the question, (apologies if there's a more appropriate thread) but what does AOF stand for in the recently advertised t-shirts etc.?

Where do people see us finishing with Cooper versus a Moyes or Potter? I really don't think what we've done so far warrants the Cooper out toxicity I'm reading. People saying there are three worse sides. Who, when Southampton looked decent early on against Man U. and but for a missed penalty it could have been different, and everyone saying Everton will beat us? Where's your worst three? I'm encouraged by Skipp, Mavadidi at this level, Ayew, Ndidi yesterday. Okoli looked better. Kristiensen did okay as well, and Im not his biggest fan. It felt like there was a bit of depth in the squad yesterday. There were still outlets yesterday at the end; Vardy and Fatawu. It didn't have to be defensive. That could have been the players not the manager. I think the one substitution he got wrong yesterday was Choudhury for Ndidi. No problem with the others. Fans are fickle. We hold off for 2-1 and more than half of what's been said wouldn't have been, and you can't blame Cooper for a mis-timed tackle. Let's have some realism though. If you want him gone fair enough, but realise this, whoever you bring in is not suddenly going to go all Man. City on you. They'll always defend leads late on, and they'll finish close to the bottom three. Edit: To add to this having watched MOTD, I think we were on the wrong side of a VAR decision as well. Again, not Cooper's fault.
-
Agree. Also I hope we aren't going to have this Premier League against Leicester nonsense spouted all season. I presume their first goal was onside because of Justin's leg. No doubt MOTD will confirm tonight. If he was off, it's a mistake. Nothing more. I think Coady's reaction confirms the penalty. Anyone who seriously thinks all the ref's. will have been given a directive to punish Leicester really does need therapy.

I think I'd swap Justin with Ricky, as he's gone missing a few times. Other than that solid enough.
