Bournemouth FA Cup (a) Match Thread

Think it's the speed of the game. -
Well we won't know unless both teams play their strongest 11's.
-
What's the issue with playing your best eleven? You can't go into every game saying X might get injured, or you'd start doing it against Rotherham at home in the league. Players get injured, but most of the time they don't. They could just as easily get injured in training. What do you do, start being cagey during training? It wouldn't be for tiredness. If elite athletes can't run around for ninety minutes on Tuesday and not be ready to go on Saturday, then there's something wrong with the training and game recovery regime. Think of the Olympics. You get a 5,000 metres runner. They'll run a heat, and three/four days later, they'll be running in the final, and bettering their time. Try and win the game. Massive boost if we do.

Leeds United (A) 3-1 - Post-Match Thread

Worrying!? Six points clear. After last year and the mess that needed sorting, plus the alleged financial position, I'd have been happy that we didn't go straight down to the First. Get a grip. -

Hope Maresca doesn't read, or get to hear about a lot of the nonsense being said on here. We'll regret it when he goes and we end up with a Rooney, or some other car crash. -
Why does mavididi keep getting hooked?

I hope I'm missing the sarcasm. He's been instrumental in us having a brilliant season so far. -

I was just meaning in today's games. Got to want them to drop points. We might need a gap between second and third. -

Vardy starts and a bit of luck on the offside, and we're four up before they score. A real shame that one, especially me coming from, and living in Leeds. Dust settles and I'll look at the table tomorrow. We're still six clear. Let's hope Ipswich and Southampton slip up. -

The intensity wasn't there like it was tonight. Just look at Dewsbury-Hall; chalk and cheese. -

We played well. I think people are losing sight of that. We missed two sitters, but beyond that I thought we were superb. Also two of their goals were deflections. What does hurt is the fact we didn't play like that against Middlesbrough. If we had, we'd have walked it. -
Anyone know if it's possible to get City darts/flights?
-
Why drag the poor bloke all the way over if that's the case, and we know no-one's leaving? Surely be confident that someone's leaving first, then get him to travel. Not convinced anyone looked like they were leaving. Souttar maybe, but not really.
-
Is there something similar that could be put together to show what needs to happen/when for a guaranteed play-off position?
-
I think after the Ipswich game(s) where we took the lead, but couldn't add to it, and ultimately dropped points, there was probably a nervousness more than anything that history was going to repeat. There are times where I think the wing-backs have the ball and could attack down the wing, but choose to stop, and knock it back, even when there's no direct challenge. I don't get that. I do still appreciate what the manager has achieved though. I guess I just think we could even do more, which is frightening really, (for the opposition).

FA Cup 5th Round Draw - Bournemouth Away.
Twitcher replied to whoareyaaa's topic in Leicester City Forum
Very good litmus test, but only if we put our first team out. I was saying the other day when they got thumped 4-0 by Liverpool that I think they're currently a better team than us. Type of side we need to be taking down if/when we go up. -

At least you had an interest in it. I could show you umpteen posts that say got absolutely no interest in this. The fringe players sadly didn't step up, and in the next round we'll be even more battered than we were at half-time against Brum with a better side against us. Liverpool won leagues, domestic, and European cups in the same season with 12 players. I'm happy the FA Cup still means something to me. -
They were woeful against Bournemouth. Saying that I only watched the 5-0 first half.

Strange that people seem interested in who we get in the draw. On the Birmingham match thread, everyone had sacked it off to concentrate on the league. Must be a different group on here 🤔 -
Leicester vs Birmingham - FA Cup - Match Thread

Not. No shots on target, and a message sent to the rest of the Championship that our bench they all go on about, ain't all that. This does nothing for the club's momentum. -

Well a lot getting what they asked for with the first team being rested. I can't say I'm happy watching us getting battered, having seen the Maidstone result and all the magic that goes with this competition. -
I think it depends on what we mean by the term. For me it's someone who will always be talked about down the years as part of the club's history. Maybe someone who's name you don't have to search for in your memory banks, when someone says, name your club's famous players. Having started supporting from the mid-seventies side, my legends, (purely from a playing aspect) in my time are: Frank Worthington Keith Weller Gary Lineker Steve Walsh Jamie Vardy Wes Morgan Andy King Kasper Schmeichel Marc Albrighton Youri Tielemans As I'm putting the list together, I do now realise how subjective it is, and maybe mine's weighted too much with actually winning stuff. For example why haven't I put Steve Whitworth in, or Mark Wallington? Then there's Heskey, Izzet, Claridge, Elliott, and others. I think if you said list your top five in my time supporting, it would be the first five on my list. Maybe swap Weller for one of the others. Another measure could be, would you definitely want to be there to stand and clap them off on their final appearance for the club? King and Albrighton, a massive yes! Edit: Birch would get in for football plus things beyond, and Mahrez doesn't get in for football plus things beyond. Meanwhile back to Patson...

I just don't see why an FA Cup run impacts our league progress. You sound like you're old enough to remember Liverpool sides that won leagues, and English and European cups with the same eleven. With the better pitches, and facilities they have nowadays, if our regularly rotated squad aren't up to giving it their all in a few extra cup games, and still maintaining their league position then they are a disgrace. The second string lose 0-2 at home to Birmingham. What does that do? Sends a clear message that we don't have the depth. It also damages morale. Send out our strongest eleven, win the game and move on.

Leicester 1-1 Ipswich Post Match Thread

Yes we won't be able to play like we do now. Vestergaard and Faes walking the ball almost up to the halfway line. It's scary enough to watch at times at the moment, although it does mainly work. However in the Prem.... -

We're Ipswich poor? I thought they defended very well and restricted us to very few chances. Particularly in the second half I thought their press was very good, and full of energy. A better final ball and they'd have been in a few times. Overall we seemed to struggle to break them down when we had possession outside their box. I think we edged it, but not massively.
