I wouldn’t be against signing two or three experienced players who can help with the leadership side on a free (or a few million max) on a one or two year deal. But most of our money should be going for players abroad who are 25 or under. That said I’m not sure how many experienced players who have played in the premier league are available for free or a few million at this moment of time I’d hate us to sign players like Longstaff for 20 million and a five year contract for example.

It easily could be one of the upcoming academy lads if they have a good breakthrough season. Just because it’s pure profit. Wouldn’t even need to be a top six club either, someone like Brentford could buy Alves next season which is actually quite depressing.

Nelson signed an extension last season didn’t he? I would offer Alves and Braybrooke long terms deals this pre season though. Apart from them three are any of the current u’21s likely to push for a squad place this season? As no doubt we’ll struggle to send any out on loan again

Barnes was in the same situation as KDH, was willing to stay but the club told him they need the money. Which is a shame as I think he’d of tore up the championship! So I’d welcome him back with open arms.

We all know it should have been maximum one year with the option to extend to two years. Everyone apart from Rudkin. If Jannik didn’t want to stay with only a year extension then get some balls and say bye then!

Anyone with 12 months left on their contracts is when new contracts should be discussed! That way you don’t keep losing players on a free. I hope Alves extends!

We’d be stupid not to demand another big fee off of them

To be fair the one against Huddersfield was pretty fun. I thought there may have been a chance at Preston too with the atmosphere. But generally not many teams pitch invade away.

CB’s - Greaves, THB, Edwards RB - Hume CM - Sara, James, Patino CAM - Bellingham, Carvalho Wingers - Rowe, Summerville, Clarke, Hutchinson ST - Szmodics, Delap Just a few examples who would improve us.

I’d try and get Nelson, Braybrooke, Alves and Wanya full season championship loans. I know we may need them as squad players but a full season playing every week would improve them massively. Plus if the worst did happen and we did go back down they’d come back as first team players having played a season in the championship.
