  1. I'm happy with this appointment. Made his name in youth level football (just like Enzo!) , but has achieved quite a lot at Championship level and also managed to survive in the Premiership, despite working for a looney tunes owner. I guess he has learnt quite a lot over this time and no one seems to doubt his man management skills. He has the basis of a fairly settled squad with some talented players, including a fair amount of premier league experience and some young players with bright prospects. He clearly has views on how he would like to play , but is also likely to be pragmatic. The alternatives were, in my opinion, somewhat over-hyped.
  2. When I was a student near there I saw Stanley Matthews play several times for Stoke at the end of his career. He wandered around and usually took two defenders with him He could still put in a good cross though.
  3. A favourite of mine as well and a really nice down to earth guy. I bumped into him a few times (just out and about) and he would always have a nice little chat.
  4. Oy, as a fully paid up geriatric I'm loving what I am seeing this season
  5. I sold Alan Woollett my second hand car - he wanted it to tow his caravan
  6. One of my all time Leicester favourites as well and so approachable if you bumped into him - he'd always stop for a little chat. So many moments of magic - should have played for England
  7. I doubt it, I'm a W and got mine a few days ago - I doubt there are too many X,Y and Z's on the list

    New defender

I saw a suggestion somewhere that he might play Bertrand as a CH. He effectively plays there part of the time already when Ricardo bombs up the field, so this might work with Thomas a LB and no change then necessay in midfield.
  9. Well I certainly didn't - I only tuned in with about 20 minutes to go - I'm glad I stuck with it KDH and Daka certainly impressed!
  10. I am, but I still didn't watch it
  11. Somebody may have suggested this before (there have been so many!), but every time I see his name I sing it to the Flinstones theme. Maybe its just me

    Ryan Bertrand

I can beat that. I once knew a grandmother who was 32
  13. It's certainly looking good but only probable not certain, as we discovered last year
  14. I wonder if that was a glimpse of the future, playing three attacking players in such a flexible way. Sure worked today
  15. Interestingly, fivethirtyeight's current statistical forecast is for us to finish 4th on 68 points, with Chelsea finishing 3rd on the same number of points but a better goal difference. 5th is a tie on 63 points for West Ham, Tottenham and Liverpool with Everton next on 61. I'm not confident yet though!
  16. If I were a bell I'd go ding dong ding dong ding
  17. No, just a Leicester City fan
  18. Pre game manager interviews are usually pretty bland, but Rogers before this game oozed confidence and said " Leeds play one on one which leaves lots of space...." Boy did we exploit it! Systems are interesting but of themselves don't win games. In the Premier league quality of players and depth of squad (when well managed) usually come out on top in the long run. Bamford is not bad but to me looks more like this season's Pukki than a contender for the golden boot. Vardy however........... Even with our long list of injuries we were able to bring on Maddison and Under to see off the game. What a squad we have this season!
  19. Oh dear, Gareth has spotted our secret weapon Great achievement for him and great confidence builder. Training with the England squad should be good for him too.
  20. A very good analysis @StriderHiryu as always. An evolved way of playing on the counter gives us another strong weapon in our armoury I don't think it will be long before other teams realise what a key player Barnes has become for us while all eyes are on Vardy!
  21. Wow, all I missed was our away crowd chanting "can we play you every week"
  22. I've only seen him in the playoff final so not much to go on but he struck me as the one of their front three most likely to succeed in the PL - pace and power are good assets to have.
  23. Although Muzzy was and still is one of my all time favourite players, I agree that Lennon was the key player in that side. My favourite moment was towards the end of a game (if I remember correctly when we were beating Chelsea) when he headed out to the left wing, received a long ball and sat on it
  24. Cooking something new with Ian Holloway doesn't bear thinking about
