Signing Mahrez would not have been possible post Brexit
Winchesterfox replied to An Away Move's topic in Leicester City Forum
You mean the Telegraph that's owned by billionaires who live in a tax haven and support Brexit? Uncanny coincidence.- 86 replies

He's 35 and injury prone. He was a good buy but I think it's time to say goodbye.

Does anyone actually know anything about the finances?
Winchesterfox replied to Qwerty's topic in Leicester City Forum
The point of parachute payments is to reduce the risk of clubs going bust when they get relegated. If clubs can borrow against the payments it defeats their purpose. It shouldn't be allowed. -
From the first class deck of the good ship Leicester City, 2022: Top: Is that an iceberg Rudders? Rudkin: Yes, Captain. Both: Full steam ahead!

Does Vardy stay for another season?
Winchesterfox replied to Htfox59's topic in Leicester City Forum
Even with a relegation clause, surely he would be earning more with us than anyone else would be willing to pay him. -

The club doesn't back him Leicester had the highest wage bill and most expensive squad of any team ever relegated from the Premier League. -
Championship Ticket Prices/Allocations
Winchesterfox replied to Ashley's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's about time the Championship clubs capped away ticket prices. -

Or the home bench, come to think of it. -
Yes to Schlupp. It feels like he's been around forever, but he's still only 30.

He scored some wonder goals, but I'm not sorry to see him go after this season. He's looked overweight and unfit, and was part of a midfield that got overrun week in, week out.

Who are you most annoyed at regarding relegation?
Winchesterfox replied to Get Carter's topic in Leicester City Forum
Mainly Rodgers for getting us into this mess. But also the Board for reacting too slowly. -
Even worse when you remember that Nick Pope went to Newcastle last summer for £10m.

The purpose of the Trust is ... to ensure that the Club is run effectively and well I've never heard of the Foxes Trust Board, but if that's their remit they've been asleep at the wheel this season.

The club needs to reduce match day ticket prices in the Championship, otherwise we're going to see a lot of empty seats.

Rodgers: I wasn't backed.

Fair point, but we have had more than our share of duds iin recent years on very high wages.

Didn't seem able to beat a player, or even have the confidence to try, which you'd expect from a winger.

The bookies still have four teams more likely to go down than us.

Hard to see how Nacho would have become a better player at Man City with very little game time. Foden and Sterling are a different class of player.

He's never been a great passer. But he presses and shows for the ball like no one else.
-
Maybe because sometimes he shoots when he should pass?

Best atmosphere for years. Hope it lifts the team as much as it lifted me.

As well as all the the positives others have mentioned, I noticed that we caught them offside quite a lot, which suggests we're much more organised defensively. Recently there has usually been someone playing them onside.

TICKETING AT AWAY GAMES - We want to hear from you
Winchesterfox replied to Union FS's topic in Leicester City Forum
Agree with this. Would also be good to have some transparency about how many tickets never make it to the priority scheme and where they end up.
