The definitive list of King Power / John Rudkin c**k ups.
Claudio Fannieri replied to AKCJ's topic in Leicester City Forum
Massively overpaying on transfer fees, wages and lengthy contracts to compensate for his deficiencies and the fact he is clearly out of his depth to operate in this type of role and at this level of football club. -
Some of that article is pretty damning, the culture is so poor and the decline in standards has been an underlying issue for a number of seasons. I often wonder just how much power the managers actually have to set high standards and expectations before the players go snivelling to the DoF or owner and the manager is undermined or removed from his role. We have world class training facilities and yet we allow the players to treat it as a holiday camp. We really need a complete reset of the club. The manager and his staff have to be given autonomy to set the rules and expectations and receive unequivocal support and backing of the owner. If players go complaining to the owner he needs to tell them to put up and shut up and get on with giving nothing less than 100%.

I have mentioned Wellens previously and was speaking to a mate at work who watches Leyton Orient a fair bit and he says he is the real deal, they play cracking football but high pressing and high intensity he is absolutely my no 1 realistic choice especially given we are going to need a massive rebuild in the championship using the academy.

Either way whether sacked or resigned he will no doubt be bound by a Non disclosure agreement, so highly likely however he leaves there will be little in regards to what has gone on behind the scenes certainly from his side. think about it when was the last time a manager gave a warts and all inside story of what it’s like working for Leicester City, King Power and some of the challenges of player power etc. We will never know the truth about what RVN was promised, however the longer this goes on and he isn’t sacked suggests that perhaps Top recognises that they didn’t make good on certain promises and commitments made at the time.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

If they are to make a change then it needs to happen by the end of the weekend to give the interim team a full week of preparation ahead of the Chelsea game. -

Anyone know if Top and Rudkin were at the game last night, if so maybe just maybe there has been a conversation with Ruud and an acceptance to agree to his previously offered resignation. -
West Ham 2-0 KPFC - Post Match Apathy
Claudio Fannieri replied to Daggers's topic in Leicester City Forum
After Friday night I made the conscious decision to give this game a wide berth, however my lad watched the 1st half, came down at half time said how crap we had been and the best way he summed it up was to say it was like watching a random game of 2 neutral teams in the background, that is how bad it has become. Expectation is at an all time low and too be honest not watching this team is actually better for my state my mind, than watching them. Ruud has to go, as for Rudkin surely his position is untenable and this group of players, what can I say except I hope we have the biggest of summer clear outs ever experienced at a professional football club and barring a handful start again. -

Might not be a bad thing, seasons dead and buried now anyway, but reckon a couple of sobering defeats and old Rudders would be getting a right old earful on the touchline might be the only way to finally get him out of the club. -

Honestly think he will walk, allegedly already offered his resignation once and persuaded to stay on and it’s only got worse since. Think it will be announced tomorrow. Either resign or departs by mutual agreement. -

Absolutely superb episode, again really great points raised in a constructive way. At same time loads of humour and a brilliant way of continuing to raise the ongoing issues within the club. -

Let’s get a few things straight, absolutely no way do we sign Ayew, BDCR, Skipp if Enzo had stayed I’m not sure Okoli would have been signed either, our recruitment would have been very different so who knows where we would be, it’s impossible to compare, however what we would be is in a lot better position in terms of at least having some sort of strategy and direction. -
Ben Dawson and Danny Alcock - Left the club

Something isn’t right here, we have just been pumped at home for 4 in what was a honking performance, manager and players look disconnected and the clubs response is to double down with the manager and throw 2 coaches under the bus. Sorry but whilst this should have happened when Cooper left, there is still something that doesn’t sit quite right here. I have a feeling there is already an agreement in place for Ruud to walk away after Thursday and this is preparing the situation for the interim/replacement to come in with 1 or 2 of his own. -

Or they are clearing the decks in readiness for a new man coming in and bringing in some new coaching staff. Maybe Ruud has been sacked or walked but separate announcement later? -

I wonder if Ruud will go after the West Ham game as it gives us 10 days before the next match to agree on an interim arrangement or potentially identify a replacement. -
Maybe bring him back in a consultancy role where he can work to establish a backroom network of analysts, sports scientists and structure that worked so well in the past, whilst also laying the groundwork of a football strategy for the next 10 years.
-
I doubt our lot have even heard of him let alone monitoring his progress and then be brave enough to make such an appointment. Our club will go for Stevie G as he fits having premier league experience and also is a legendary name.
-
We have form for manager departures being announced on a Sunday. Reckon it will be 4pm

I am in the same place as you, get a young upcoming manager like Rohl or Wellens in now and give them a free hit to use the rest of the season to get their plans in place ready to hit the ground running next season. I too have a horrible feeling it will be Russell Martin as well. Whilst we shouldn’t go for a complete change in strategy, I do think the obsession with replicating Man City’s style needs to stop and we need to find a hybrid style that works for our club.
-
Decent list but I guarantee other than Puel and O’Neill our lot would either have heard of most them or look beyond the fact they don’t have premier league experience. We are so lazy and limited in our strategy and recruitment.
-
Absolutely stealing a living, makes one or two runs a game where he resembles prime Yaya Toure other than that he is missing in action, never seen a player on the wrong side of his man so often when we are out of possession.
-
Richie Wellens, doing an unreal job at Leyton Orient, let him come in spend the remainder of the season preparing for next season, integrating the best academy prospects into the first team matchday squad and also making it clear to the hangers on to start looking for new clubs. A bit of Northern grit, reckon he will be the closest to a modern day Pearson . Bin off Rudkin and Glover and bring in a new Dof and Steve Walsh Snr as Head of Recruitment and with a remit to revamp our whole scouting and recruitment department

Position is untenable, clearly given false promises about the January transfer window, however from the Everton game he has looked like he has checked out. Uninspiring team selections, odd substitutions and an absolute stubbornness to play the same formation and style regardless of opponent or circumstance. This has been a disaster of an appointment but just like the Cooper recruitment in the summer it just compounds what a poorly run club we have become, we have spunked £80m on mainly 2nd rate players on huge wages and contracts. Ruud has been terrible but no way should he be the scapegoat for the piss poor management of this club by the board and ownership.
