I totally get your response. But I don't believe this will happen because we have to many players that have already proved they are top Championship players. Take Mavididi- he can't cut it in the Prem but we know what a real asset he is in the Championship. Part of our problem this season is we have players who were to good for the Championship but aren't good enough for the Premiership. I do what to see players change as we need to be Prem ready for when we are promoted again. Therefore we need younger players that have a higher ceiling than some of the oldies we currently have.

For the exact reason many supporters want Top and King Power gone is why we will come straight back up. They will simply throw enough money at it. Even if we have a 10 point deduction with the players we have, the academy, the experience of being in the Championship etc will see us ok. The problem is what happens next. Arguably we had a stronger squad on the Championship than in the Premiership. We had clear identity and a strategy. What's screwed us is our success meant key personal were offered brighter opportunities. The the threat of FFP during two transfer windows. Having to replace the manager under the threat of FFP and the enormous gulf between the Championship and Premier League. I didn't believe the gap was that great until I've seen it this season. Mads aside our best players in the Championship haven't been anywhere near the level required in the Premiership. I think FFP is going to literally fix the leagues over the next ten years. The same teams will be consistently promoted and relegated. Unless something is done to the rules so competition can once more exist. I'm not a happy fox. I don't like how we are run. I'd love to see change. But I fear that ownership change won't fast track success. And I'd rather we constantly throw the dice than become a static Championship or bottom of the Premier League side. It's the gamble that might just pay off for a few years. We just need the right manager and successful transfer windows and our Youth (which we are all excited about) making a successful transition into the side.

My hope is the improvement is coming. Not with the current team but with the youth coming through. If we can keep them that is.

If we sack him I imagine we will have a PSR problem. Also who is coming? Potter and Moyes kept well clear for a reason. Dyche isn't coming to be relegated. Far better for him to hang on for an early season Prem sacking. We have to keep him and ride this dire situation out until the summer. Then somehow this has to be turned around. It's a massive job. Our recruitment was dire. The 10/11 starters where here last season stat is the reason we are going down. The only thing I can see to explain how bad this is is PSR. Perhaps the continued threat of points deductions stopped a decent manager and then players arriving. If so how is any club going to come up from the Championship and stay up. I don't know. I'm at a loss. I'm angry, upset and disappointed.

Savage or King? We used to groan when Savage's name was read out on the team sheet! Through O'Neill's perseverance and the quality of the players around him he grew into a great player for us. He had a lot to be thankful for, yet due to the type of player he was supposed to be he grew into the role and was a... I think he enjoyed it too. I don't hold it against Savage though. He got a lot out of his career and is a household name as a result. King was a fantastic servant. He was one of our better players for many years and could have played in the Prem much earlier in his career if he'd moved. He was loyal. He scored great goals. It could also be argued he made the absolute most of his ability to arrive late in the box and score goals. An ability that served him well and we all appreciated. But 6 Prem goals across 4 Seasons isn't enough for the type of player he was. Perhaps if we'd got into the Premier League earlier he'd have become an even better player than he was. Therefore, I'd go with Savage. Just. And I hate my choice!

I think he has a better pathway to becoming an established footballer with us than Man City. We've plenty of examples of youth getting into our 1st team. Again, I think the rules here stink. Whoever pinches a youth player at whatever level should have to compensate twice. Once when they steal them away and once again when they are sold on. With compensation in mind perhaps we should give him minutes, so if we lose him we can say he has played in the Premier League in any negotiations/tribunal.

The misled thing is really interesting. Did the club think they had PSR wiggle room to spend money and then realised they couldn't? Or was there a big money outgoing planned that fell through? Or did they simply lie to get Ruud through the door? I think Hermanson was lined up for a big money transfer out. It either fell through because the team buying couldn't afford him or his injury put them off. Although his injury might have been fiction to keep him out of the starting line up. Maybe Ruud decided after watching our other goalkeepers play we were best to keep Hermanson. Whatever happened there was something about Hermanson's injury that just didn't seem right. Whatever happened I don't think its as simple as Ruud was told we had money and then we didn't. I also don't think there is a reluctance to spend money- I think something is preventing us from doing do. My other gripe with the January window was all the noise was about potential points deductions. That's two windows in a row where we have been hampered by noise suggesting we would be docked points. Not great for attracting talent.

I wouldn't sack him. Like Rodgers did he appears to be waiting to be paid off before we are relegated. Therefore, I'd sack him after we go down. He might buck his ideas up with the prospect of relegation on his CV.

I don't disagree. Although it you go down the grit it out route you need the players to do that. It isn't a tenable whole club philosophy either so it's hard to implement and it has implications. For instance, our current players clearly rebelled against Cooper who wanted us to grit it out. Recruitment with this philosophy can be challenging as well- look at how well we fans have taken to Cooper's signings. And like it or not if we want to keep our better youth players they want to be playing a style that gives them the opportunity to move onto their dream clubs. Therefore, I don't see gritting it out as an option for our club. I also don't see any manager who has aspirations wanting to play anything but the modern chess like way. Again like it or not they have seen Kompany and Marasca move their careers on based on style alone. We need a hybrid style. Something in-between. We need a manager that understands the modern chess style football and can develop their own system to play it and combate it. Not to try and emulate it. We need players who know when to play chess and when to roll their sleeves up and work hard. I simply don't think we can judge Ruud yet. He simply hasn't the personnel. That's not his fault. We need a philosophy with a clear strategy that permeates right through the club, from scouts to recruitment and through the youth teams. I'm hoping it's not going to take time to rebuild. I believe it was there but then Brendon messed up, then Maresca up and left and we appointed the polar opposite to those before in Cooper. That's also why we can't appoint Dyche. I understand he recognised himself that he couldn't move Everton on.

The only criteria should be to appoint a manager that has a playing style that can survive in the Premiership with the youth players we have. If we go down, the only way we come back up and survive is if we find Prem quality Youth players in our academy. The days of buying survival are gone. Therefore, we need a manager who can give us a style throughout the club. I'd imagine Ruud is a better prospect than Cooper for that. I'd also imagine that he can follow the work Maresca did. Can we judge Ruud yet? He has purchased one player in his time here. I don't agree with his starting line ups but they at least give him options on the bench to try and change a game. We all want our better attacking players on the pitch from the start but we get cut to ribbons with them on. The problem is and remains our entire defence. That can't be fixed without a transfer window when funds are available. If Ruud is better for the entire club (which I suspect he is with no tangible evidence) I think you stick. He understands the modern style.

Squad wise we haven't enough depth. We also saw why Ndidi is so important and, sadly, Winks simply isn't what we need in the Prem. I'm delighted Thomas is having a bit of a renaissance this season and alarmed our only January signing didn't look like he is going to be very effective. McAteer was a passenger. Again showing the difference between a Prem pro and a Championship player.

You are right. He certainly did that. He'd do it over two or three seasons and set us up for another crack. But you need a tactics/data savvy manager for the Premier League (and maybe even the Championship today). He wasn't that. What we need is Pearson and Walsh doing the recruitment and a Raneri doing the tactics and game prep.

I loved Filbert Street. I loved sitting at the back of the cowshed on the backs of the seats or in the front few rows where you could actually talk to the players. I've books full of autographs. I always felt these were the best seats as you got to look at the Carling Stand whereas if you were in you had to look at the cow shed. My first game was in the old main stand with it's wooden floors where you could poke your crisp packets between the gaps. The racket when everyone stomped for penalties. We could do with Filbert Street this season. Memories of Owen being put over the advertising boards were a real leveler.

What makes Wolves at home and yesterday's performances so bad was the hope that we would/could/should prevail.
