Middlesbrough (H) 1-2 - Post-Match Thread
ftfagos replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
We’re now 78-5 with 13 overs left. We are 9 points clear. We have to play our two closest rivals and they have to play each other. Chill. There really is no point worrying about the future and what if. -
Seems obvious to me. Clearly someone practicing for Shrove Tuesday.

I think my wife’s been peeling onions again.

We should invite Enzo to come and look at this thread. He might want to join in although I doubt he would. Foxestalk for all its match day histrionics is far and away the best football forum I have ever read. The quality of opinion, reasoning, experience and yes, most of the time, respect for others opinions is astonishing.

Girona were 1000/1 to win the league before the start of the season. Five times more likely to win it than us. Dwarf my arse.

The silly cnuts have had a field day today. No lights, fog lights, pulling into outer lanes whilst going slower than the traffic in that lane, gratuitous braking, suddenly realising it’s their turn off and slaloming across the entire motorway. Utter disregard for the conditions. Decided I would just stick to the inside lane and accompany the pros.

Maresca ball against top teams (no jinxing allowed)
ftfagos replied to moseeds's topic in Leicester City Forum
May will not be here any sooner than it usually is, in fact this year it’s arrival will be somewhat later because it is a leap year. -
And we worry about our likely performance next season …
-
Much more relaxed about the record now. As we all know automatic promotion is what matters.

Cardiff (A) 0-2 - 29 Dec - Post-Match Thread
ftfagos replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
Mate of mine, Cardiff fan, at the game tonight. ‘I'd say superior skill, pace, confidence. Do play it out well from the back. Look like a Premier League team. The 2 Centre halves put their foot on the ball and pick their pass. Better than Burnley last season. The best we've played in the Championship for a couple of years’ -
Given our performance against Yorkshire teams 20/1 is worth a nibble. True odds in a two horse race should be nowhere near that.

Strider should have his own thread. The Voice of Sanity. Pin it.

Norwegian Wood Nice Christmas present for the log burning devotees.

Thought that was Palace. Was it Sunderland as well?
-
In his heart Claudio knew it too.

Is it any wonder we were relegated with that defence.

We could all see it couldn’t we. Even the bookies couldn’t. Backed us to go down at sevens when the true odds were probably evens. -
Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
ftfagos replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
So, if we’re daring to dream, Champions League win 2026 with Vardy coming off the bench with a zimmer to score the winning pen. in the shootout. It’s the Leicester way. I might die of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy. -

Sexy football’s coming home. He’ll have us purring like a Ferrari in no time. Bring in Robert Huth to sort out the defence and Cambiasso to complete the dream team. -
Forgot to say ignore the tented village. It’s all R&A branded merchandise these days - vastly overpriced. Back in the day it was well worth a few hours browsing the latest clubs, golf books etc but since the R&A raised the rents the best bits have all been driven out.

Tips: Spend some time on the practice ground. If you want to see the flight of the ball get right behind it. Easier said than done these days with the tees pushed to the boundaries of the property & the number of people allowed behind the ropes. Wear hiking boots or a proper pair of golf shoes. Dry, shiny grass equally as slippy as the wet stuff. Dress for the weather. Consider taking your own food and drink - if you’re allowed. Expensive at the course and queues. Binoculars or a scope. If you fancy a break find a stand which will give you views of approach shots, the green and subsequent tee. If you intend to follow a particular match and they are already on the course walk the course backwards for a few holes until you encounter them. Did I say get behind the ball - this is the single most important tip.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to go on golf tour to Notts.

How much would you pay to keep Leicester up?
ftfagos replied to Buzzard's topic in Leicester City Forum
I put a shit load on Spurs to win the PL in 2016 when it is was just us or them. It had to be enough to hurt if I lost it to ensure we finished top. If you’re not sure whether it’s enough to hurt double the stake. Best money I ever spent. Not just for me but for hundreds of thousands of others. I’ve only got £20 on at sevens for us to be relegated. My apologies for not putting more on. Like a fool I didn’t really think it was going to happen. -
Vardy winner in ET. It’s written.
