  1. Wonderful post. Think it could almost be used as part of a rousing half time talk - might give the players a real sense of what being a fan of the club means. If it’s deemed too incomprehensible for them then half time in the match thread would be a sobering alternative. You’re the only poster I immediately recognise from your style. Keep going my friend.
  2. Lump on that 4/1 now. You need to put on enough so that it hurts to lose it. If you’re not sure just double the stake. If we’re relegated then you have something to cushion the blow. If we’re not you’ve just bought our survival - you, me and perhaps another 300,000 odd will be very grateful. I confess to having put a wad on Spurs to win the PL in the dying days of 2015/16. Best money I’ve ever spent. Made a lot of people very happy.
  3. I’ve lived in Norfolk for last thirty years and the north-east for the ten years before that. I’m a links golf enthusiast so both locations suited me and was a member at Silloth & Bamburgh (not links I know) whilst I was up there. Played a lot at Seaton Carew too. Both coasts are wonderful. Big difference is the NE is so much colder. You don’t want to live hard by the coast either as a wind off the North Sea or a sea fret will leave you perishing in either location. Despite this sites detest of NUFC fans I found most Geordies great company - they certainly know how to party. You clearly get a lot more for your money property wise in the NE. Coastal locations in Norfolk are prohibitively expensive. Sadly there are many more run down areas in the NE so property prices in the good bits are correspondingly higher & even Newcastle itself seemed pretty tired with less of the usual vibrancy when I was there last year. As others have advised rent for a year if you can afford it before you buy so you can determine where you’d like to live.
  4. Does he say anything to them at half time or just brush his teeth?
  5. Players look frightened to me. What has BR done to them?
  6. I know you asked to put loyalty to one side but the thought of scoring against my own team … just couldn’t do it.
  7. My brain hurts
  8. Jeez. That line up. Are we playing in all white?
  9. There’s plenty left to go yet.
  10. “Newcastle are far better than us nowadays, Howe has done a terrific job and let’s be honest, their Saudi backing hasn’t properly taken off yet”. This
  11. That Perez take was pure Bergkamp.
  12. Saw John Charles playing for Merthyr down at George Street in the early seventies. Scored with a header from outside the eighteen yard box. Giant of a man. The greatest for me though is Bobby Moore.
  13. Of course. How could I forget. That was the night I offered my hand in marriage to Tony Pulis.
  14. Did he even get booked? A straight red wouldn’t have been a big surprise.
  15. Nailed on for Costa to open his account today.
  16. Almost as excruciating as watching the game. Must admit I didn’t realise live streaming was available from the Labour Ward. Do you get a choice of camera view?
  17. This. At least five thousand times. More possession than Spurs on Saturday but for what.
  18. Sounds like it’s time to pay the bookies a visit. It couldn’t happen again could it?
  19. Man has no class.
  20. Un giorno all’improvviso as sung by Napoli fans not the bastardisations favoured by the likes of LFC et al.
  21. 7 of the last 9 - it’s been done before!
  22. How long before it’s covered in gladioli?
  23. I wish Fuchs & Kasper hadn’t soaked Ranieri with champagne. He wasn’t happy and it seemed somewhat undignified.
  24. He plays the way we fans would play if we were ever good enough to play for the club.
  25. Where’s Chris Wood?
