  1. The Unbelievables Bit of an unwieldy title but good for a medium haul read.
  2. Trying to understand human behaviour is akin to plaiting fog. I spent an entire professional lifetime trying and largely failing. There’s probably a decent research project out there on why folk leave early but I very much doubt an answer will be found. Human beings also lie. I’ve only ever left a match early, as a kid when my Uncle George insisted we leave ‘to beat the traffic’, missed a goal and vowed never to do it again. However my wife and I left a Peter Kay gig early a couple of weeks ago (largely because he was crap) but if we hadn’t we’d have missed our last train.
  3. Now regretting suggesting to my wife we have dinner at seven.
  4. This is what Rodgers and dare I say it Maresca managed to achieve with us. You can’t play football if the manager has you running scared.
  5. The more I see of the pressure affecting sport down the stretch the more remarkable our performance in the 2016 run in was.
  6. Posted this last year. Tips: Spend some time on the practice ground. If you want to see the flight of the ball get right behind it. Easier said than done these days with the tees pushed to the boundaries of the property & the number of people allowed behind the ropes. Wear hiking boots or a proper pair of golf shoes. Dry, shiny grass equally as slippy as the wet stuff. Dress for the weather. Consider taking your own food and drink - if you’re allowed. Expensive at the course and queues. Binoculars or a scope. If you fancy a break find a stand which will give you views of approach shots, the green and subsequent tee. If you intend to follow a particular match and they are already on the course walk the course backwards for a few holes until you encounter them. Did I say get behind the ball - this is the single most important tip.
  7. Walking off it looked as though he has injured his right ankle. Graze on left knee is irrelevant.
  8. My cousin and his son were there, second row from the back. Neither realised it was possible for a concrete stand to shake so much.
  9. His technical ability is absolutely sensational. His goal last night, over the shoulder goal against WBA, backheel against Germany, Liverpool Worldle in 2016 …
  10. Did we get into second gear last night?
  11. Man U next year.
  12. Don’t worry he’s already transitioning to CF.
  13. We’re now 78-5 with 13 overs left. We are 9 points clear. We have to play our two closest rivals and they have to play each other. Chill. There really is no point worrying about the future and what if.
  14. Seems obvious to me. Clearly someone practicing for Shrove Tuesday.
  15. I think my wife’s been peeling onions again.
  16. We should invite Enzo to come and look at this thread. He might want to join in although I doubt he would. Foxestalk for all its match day histrionics is far and away the best football forum I have ever read. The quality of opinion, reasoning, experience and yes, most of the time, respect for others opinions is astonishing.
  17. Girona were 1000/1 to win the league before the start of the season. Five times more likely to win it than us. Dwarf my arse.
  18. The silly cnuts have had a field day today. No lights, fog lights, pulling into outer lanes whilst going slower than the traffic in that lane, gratuitous braking, suddenly realising it’s their turn off and slaloming across the entire motorway. Utter disregard for the conditions. Decided I would just stick to the inside lane and accompany the pros.
  19. May will not be here any sooner than it usually is, in fact this year it’s arrival will be somewhat later because it is a leap year.
  20. And we worry about our likely performance next season …
  21. Much more relaxed about the record now. As we all know automatic promotion is what matters.
  22. Mate of mine, Cardiff fan, at the game tonight. ‘I'd say superior skill, pace, confidence. Do play it out well from the back. Look like a Premier League team. The 2 Centre halves put their foot on the ball and pick their pass. Better than Burnley last season. The best we've played in the Championship for a couple of years’
  23. Given our performance against Yorkshire teams 20/1 is worth a nibble. True odds in a two horse race should be nowhere near that.
  24. Strider should have his own thread. The Voice of Sanity. Pin it.
