This coming season you can watch it 23 times in the pre-match video, assuming they don´t delete it to make room for last season´s great moments

Oops, didn´t see the previous post! I had to check the spelling before posting, hence the delay -

What about Željko Kalac? He got Palace rattled at Wembley -
Post-horn Gallop, When You´re Smiling and the pre-match video. I used to like the HT cross-bar challenge - I remember Kasabian were pretty good at that
-
At Highbury (I don´t know when it started), the Arsenal fans used to sing "We´re the North Bank over ere", "We´re the Clock End over ere"

If he has a business degree, perhaps he should be running the club as well as being captain

Sorry about that, but I saw the opportunity and pounced like Jamie Vardy
-
Bearing in mind the name of his assistant, I hope we keep Calm and carry on

This rule was trialled in England a few years ago and worked very well (much less arguing with the ref)?. However UEFA thought it wouldn´t be enforceable in other countries and so it was abandoned here. I think when it happened close to the penalty area the free kick could only be advanced to the line. Another new rule that disappeared was no offside from free kicks. I think it was trialled in the Conference but flopped.

Am I being too pessimistic for the new season?

Two years ago the club did very well in the summer, getting in a new management team and securing 3 major signings early on. Hopefully they can do something similar now (after this delay!). However if the team for the first game includes Daka and others who are not popular with the fans and/or are not good enough, then the fans´ enthusiasm might disappear very quickly. -
When you realise that a player is not good enough for the level you need, you get rid ASAP. That was Clough´s philosophy. Easier said than done perhaps and it´s now too late in Ward´s case. In the case of Daka, I would let go on a free now or pay him off and let him find a new club as he´s not even top-half Championship level. Politicians have to face elections every 4-5 years, unlike club owners/managers/coaches.

The BBC Football report states that his only first team appearance for Wrexham before signing for Liverpool was in a 2-1 defeat against Airbus UK. Sums it up really. To be fair, like Daka and others, it´s not his fault he´s not good enough to play for us, it´s the fault of those who decided to buy him and couldn´t improve him once he was here.

Against West Brom at home the season before last, when he blocked 2 shots on the goal line, one with his hair

and 3) We played Ipswich and Southampton and both had a man sent off, enabling us to get 4 points No club has snapped up Cooper since November. Perhaps he´s happy sitting at home with his cash from the 2 sackings

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff
DJW1 replied to davieG's topic in General Chat
I only come to Leicester for the football. Of the three East Midlands cities, I think Nottingham is the nicest (sorry), then Leicester then Derby. The proposed market development looks quite nice, but let´s see how it turns out. Leicester market isn´t too bad, despite the bowl system of selling the produce (is it legal?), but could now be housed in a smaller site. -
My first game, aged 5, against Newcastle in 71. Many memories, including Keith Weller in his wife's tights against Norwich in Jan 79. And of course 5-2 against Shrewsbury in 82

Stephy Mavididi (no real rumour, some clubs "interested.")

At the time Rodgers suggested that Lookman was mentally weak, perhaps explaining why they didn't sign him -

Back in Spain, he's done very well. It seemed to me that they signed him without thinking where to play him. He would have done better in a front two. -
Yes, next season may well be a rebuilding year, hopefully with the introduction of younger players brought through the ranks and perhaps bought from the lower divisions. A promotion challenge would be a bonus, but I could live without one so long as progress is made. I only hope the fans don´t start getting on the new players´backs if they make mistakes that cost us goals or points. As for a new manager, I have no suggestions, but I think there needs to be one to give the fans (and players) some enthusiasm. Imagine starting the new season with Ruud in charge and Daka up front.

These days Remembrance Day has become Remembrance Month (and even Year, for the people who have a big poppy on their cars all year). In the case of Pride, like Christmas, Halloween etc., it´s probably a case of getting people to spend more money.

I never really liked Vardy (or Dickov or Savage) The football we played under Maresca was not boring

It was fitting that Walsh got the winner after battling back from his ACL injury early in the season. He was my hero, not just because he was a big tough (and sometimes nasty) centre half but also because he was brave, having to have many operations just to keep playing. He actually wrote in a matchday programme that he couldn´t stand Derby.
