The problem (stretching the definition there) is there are so many attractive coastlines around England, Wales and Scotland. Why go to Lincs when there are better options around? At least there are sandy beaches, but the North Sea isn't great climate wise much of the year. I currently go down to Hastings quite a lot, and from hill walks, to cosy pubs with real fires and lots of live music places and festivals throughout the year, I love the place. One thing it doesn't have is a sandy beach. If I wanted to go further afield (I live in London) then the south west, Devon and Cornwall would appeal. Having said that, , my Dad's family were from Grimsby so I wouldn't rule out going one last time to Cleethorpes.

Seems like their "night of the long knives" is arriving sooner than expected!

back to the late 80s. Forest riding high...we're struggling and saying goodbye to our top striker. Yuk.
-
We could have a grand alliance with the Cybermen, Daleks and the Master, and I still wouldn't fancy our chances tonight.

No reserve GK? Doesn't seem legit.

The anti-Leicester?

That's the key, isn't it? DW is obviously a very fine wine, who doesn't travel. Should be confined to a deep, dark wine vault in darkest Melton Mowbray, and never forced to travel again.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
SkidsFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
There is a glimmer of hope for RvN. If we do put in a performance today, that will earn him some breathing space. As I said, just a glimmer. -
Surprisingly I'm a bit more optimistic about this game than I was for Wolves. Yes, we'll probably still lose, but surely RvN can't make the same selection mistakes?
-
A bad side-effect of this pile-on Ward, is that whoever plays in goal now will get blamed for goals conceded, when in many cases it can be the defence allowing the opposition to waltz in. Never mind, lets hope Mads is back at 100% soon.

We needed new coaching staff. Fingers crossed this will work for us. If nothing else he should know some young talent out there we can bring in.

Another Joe Biden moment here. Took me quite a while to work out what was being said here.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
SkidsFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Hard to believe a manager (even a recently appointed one like Ruud) thinking "midfield, hey, let's stick with Skipp and Soumare, and not play Buonanotte". But the regime staff must surely be at fault here. Are they deliberately giving poor selection choices to Rvn? And that's before we get to the GK choice. Like others here, finding it hard to understand what is going on here. -
The likes of Mads, Winks and Mavididi won't stay around again. Ricardo and Vardy may no longer play for us. We'll be left with the likes of Ward, Choudhury, James, Daka and Coady to fashion a winning side (not to mention FT favourites Faes, Vesty and McAteer). Good luck with that squad. Who knows, maybe Alves can break through at last...

In 2000 alternate universes, we lose heavily in all 2,000 with that line-up....
-
Rudd's hoping half the Wolves team die laughing...
-
my word. Not sure what's worse, the defence or midfield.

Fair comment (although we've often seen managers flop at big-spending clubs like Chelsea and Man U). It would be interesting to see Pep take charge of a club like Norwich or Plymouth for a couple of seasons. Of course it will never happen, he'll only ever go somewhere they could afford him.

I've got to the stage where I'd prefer the big 6/7 to feck off, tbh. It all feels rigged, and a system where the top clubs can buy £70 million players to slot into their reserves, means we are kidding ourselves that it's a fair competition. The big clubs have made it obvious they won't allow another us/"Leicester". Let them slope off to their weekly Bayern/Juve/Real/Barca superstars competition.

A certain Mr Lynex.

Another place to consider (not in Covent Garden, but not too far away in Chinatown) if you're into weird Dutch/Belgian beer choices: De Hems Dutch Cafe Bar Pub & Restaurant in London, Greater London

Saw this chain coffee shop yesterday, near London bridge station. Sailing a bit too close to the wind (brand infringement)? Or is it just me who associates FCB with a football club in La Liga? FCB Coffee

More a summer suggestion (because of the bus in the beer garden) but the Old bank of England pub on Fleet Street is worth a detour . See also the Salisbury pub on St Martins Lane.

Of course - Santa's had to upgrade his distribution system, given the rise in number of presents. The old reindeer network was beginning to creak at the seams.

I thought I'd start a positive thread. Please list/promote any Leicester businesses that are kicking it nationwide (or deserve to) I'll start with Dunelm stores. For older folk like myself, it's a great place to search for homewares/bed linen/garden tools etc. Plus they appear to have cracked the instore cafeteria with the Pausa cafe. Doing well up and down the land. Kudos.
