  1. Ignore the up to 3 mins of var checks and concentrate on the talented football played by athletes on display tonight. I presume you didn’t watch the game, otherwise there’s no way you can come to this stereotype conclusion. Have you watched any championship football this season?! The players within the league are pot bellied weaklings. Vestegaard was pushing players around the pitch all season and didn’t break sweat. Let that sink in
  2. Surely you’re joking. As a football fan, how can you not have enjoyed 100 mins of committed attacking football from two teams of well managed athletes. And want to watch more utter dross played at 2 mph by pot bellied office workers like the playoff matches yday
  3. Got mine for about £40
  4. NYC and LA would be fun. Dubai is surely inevitable. Calendar will be USA and Middle East until that money train runs out.
  5. Stout and about: a Guinness pub crawl across London (archive.is) Decent read on the fashionable rise of Guinness. Akin to everyone drinking 7.3% strawberry milkshake margarita pizza IPAs in the early 2020s
  6. True. Get us out of euro 2024 as well
  7. I also think so. Sam Ryder was so close. Yes we brits stink up Europe every summer, but we pay a helluva premium to do so. Families literally save all year round to spend two weeks in france to read a book in a garden. Surely the hatred will end once the Europeans realise the value of our dumb £ spending potential, and we get some public votes
  8. The reason you were there gives you the answer. It’s a nothing game where the regulars probably couldn’t be arsed so gave their tickets to tourists like you. Spurs are locked into fifth and Burnley are relegated, but Frosty expected a venomous atmosphere?
  9. This week in jersey, with the extra bank hol on Thursday for liberation day, has been a weird distorted reality. It’s been actually hot and dry all week. Loads of locals have bounced off to their houses in Italy and France, the office has been totally dead. The streets are full of old uk and French tourists, all functionally dressed, backpacks, sun protection, water bottles. Lounging around drinking coffee, reading books, burping and farting with a general stench of bored middle class comfort. It’s like I’m on some sh1t European villa holiday
  10. I bought a ticket for that match! But with no further plans. Edinburgh is brilliant. Now you say it I may think again
  11. Figure out how much it’s worth and tell them you want 50% of that as a bonus per year, or you’ll nuke the bugger. Don’t tell anyone how it works. Employer owes you nothing and you certainly owe them nothing, take as much as you can and at no point appear happy with it
  12. Went at the end of august/start of sept two years ago. Loads of culture, museums etc. Have the Apple strudel in the famous cafe (can’t remember its name), see the orchestra. Bratislava and Budapest are near and cheap on the bus. I saw Austria Vienna play in the conference league, it was fun
  13. Same, got £25 on Luton going down
  14. Agreed, you need TV trained people to front TV shows, especially travel ones, to bring it to life. Romesh in Columbia, Zimbabwe, Antarctica was hilarious. Imagine if that was Daveo from Oldham! 'Mate where's the pool. Mate can I have a chill and read my book. Mate can we have a beach day today yeh. Lion... seen a dog just like that in Sardinia tbf'
  15. Ah remember you commenting on the bulls a while back. Yeh Croydon won, bulls missed a pen. Will be same again for jersey next season. Be in and amongst it all season then a team will find some extra funding and storm through the playoffs. You got some players in this league on £600 a week. Tbf the bulls players are in the uk every fortnight so can make a stack of cash flogging duty free booze and cigs to their contacts upon return
  16. Getting on the pitch was fun v Doncaster in 2014, but the trophy presentation was amazing in 2016, would not swap that moment for anything, will be forever seared into my mind. Given the presentation was largely average on Saturday, I would have preferred being on the pitch
  17. I got no further info on what they class as a disability to avoid the £25 tax
  18. Yeh I do HIIT twice a week. Three women in their 60s run rings around everyone else, incredible fitness. It's working for me as I play racketball but I am not good at racketball, however I am fitter than almost all of the club members but they are all technically better. So taking each rally long and playing at a quick pace is the only way I can win matches. Not sure about strength building though.
  19. Monaco and Nice. Bottle of some kind of mass produced bubbles at Le Americain, Nikki Beach or Nobu, sit back and see the style. Two contrasting choices though, Algarve is full of old sitting around people reading paper books and 'recharging' whereas French Riviera is a bit more glitz and glam??
  20. I'm not defending anyone as I am a mere 'man on the Clapham omnibus' so obvs don't know the real world reality of what both sets of owners do. But the Hollywood Wrexham super dudes are actors, their entire life's work and objective is to create positive branding and image. Which has worked on you and I guess multiple others, but I'd be hard pressed to believe they care about the supporters and have done everything to a tee. They are making bucket loads of money and creating huge marketing opportunities for their other business interests. If that stops, their 'care' for Wrexham will suffer the same fate as the King prawn tiger noodles I had last night. Down a pipe the next morning and long forgotten
  21. How far the British empire has fallen. Used to be brits taking over foreign assets and assuming all the locals were delighted for them to bless their land with their presence. Now a Thai family selling toblerones and their hangers-on have conquered our pitch. Blame it on sunak!!!
  22. Speechlessly good. Away fans must look at our displays and be in awe
  23. Yeh I didn’t get one on matchday v Everton. Bought one a few weeks later. Although I’m not sure why, not opened that or the season review dvd since. I guess these things are for decades down the line. Will keep an eye out and buy one if they reprint Saturdays issue
