  1. I’ve heard he’s got a lightweight frame…
  2. So BCGame and FBS were his fault? Good riddance!
  3. Brentford are a poor example though. They have a very specific model like Brighton. A better comparison/way to illustrate your point is when the promoted sides sack their managers, or clubs in and around there that don’t have a hipster philosophy.
  4. Tell me what you want, what you Rohlly, Rohlly want…
  5. It’s going to be Preki isn’t it?
  6. I think we need to take a really hard line against this. You’re either in 110%, committed to the cause, running through walls for the team, or you can rot in the reserves and never play for the club again or find a move elsewhere. Take the hit, play the kids if we have to, and if that means struggling so be it, it would set a precedence long term. Sadly, I cannot see our hierarchy approving of such action.
  7. Depends who the buyer is. I’d take an oil state in a heartbeat.
  8. Smart move this. Providing he’s not on massive wages. Will be good for the young keepers, and he was a decent keeper in his day.
  9. This does happen though when players want a move, are denied it, and then they down tools and are terrible.
  10. He’s a good player, and a starter in the championship. However, the reality is that we haven’t got two pennies to rub together, and we are stacked for wingers. Abdul and Kasey will be fine as starters if the money is right - 15m+. The young lads and the grandads to provide backup.
  11. They already have a very good keeper mate. Even their new number two showed that he’s decent too.
  12. Firstly, just want to point out that I’m not a fan of Dyche. BUT… Everton were a complete mess when he went there. He got them steady, did lots of work behind the scenes to sort the mess out. This was recognised by Moyes who said he had left them in good shape. There could be an argument that Dyche did a lot of the ground work for Moyes to then be successful. Dyche is a square peg for us. But there are reasons we may be appointing him. He would clear the dead wood, sort out the dressing room and the attitude, and sort the defence out. Could we appoint him as a short term fixer, with the view of someone else coming in after a few seasons to then build on that? Quite possibly. Also not having the narrative that Dyche doesn’t give youth a chance. He absolutely does. And Dwight McNeil is actually a good player, he’s just not fancy. How many goals did he score for a poor Everton side last season? Above everything, we need someone who is going to do the things off the pitch. Style is not a priority right now, we are a mess. Let’s worry about style later on when we have survived a season in the premier league. We won’t have much money to spend either, so that is reassuring in that if he did come in, he wouldn’t be spunking big money on workmen. He would largely have to work with what we have, buy a few cheap players, and look at the young lads. Rohl is a better option imo. But I don’t know if it’s possible. There are worse appointments than Dyche given what a mess we are. Dyche is a Pearson type appointment.
  13. So Martin is the off brand Rodgers, and Carrick is the wish version?
  14. Ange is the box office dreamland appointment. Never gonna happen.
  15. Pains me to say it, but could that be an ideal environment for the ginger mourinho?
  16. I beg for a manager that isn’t afraid to get it forward quickly when it’s on. We want out Leicester back. As much as I’m not a fan of the tippy tappy rubbish, it would be ok if it wasn’t so rigid. Keeping possession and looking for spaces to open up is fine. The problem is, it’s been so rigid that we never have players up the top end looking to beat the last man. We never play a quick ball forward, instead slowly passing it around whilst the opposition get back in to shape. The mind boggles.
  17. For a young manager, I think it’s actually more appealing going in to a big club in the second tier with infrastructure etc, and being able to spend a season sorting the squad and tactics out before the premier league. The pressure that comes with taking in a club favourite to go down and hitting the ground running is massive.
  18. Needs more trefoil
  19. We might get decent money for Okoli though, which given our position, we couldn’t turn down. He’s probably worth more than any of the others.
  20. We need to accept any/all offers for any of our centre backs apart from Nelson. I would quite like to see Souttar and Nelson as the starting 2. Always liked Souttar, and feel he’s been treated unfairly. More solid than the other dross we have. He got caught out of position and played people onside a few times when we went down, but he’s young, and that’s something that can be worked on.
  21. If it’s Will Still, we need to get creative with the chant. Still Dre is there to be had! I also have a Stihl cap that I was given at an event about 10 years ago, I’ll proudly rock that every game.
  22. There’s more to comparisons than hair colour mate.
  23. With a complete restructure with top calibre people in the positions that matter, Carsley could be good if the visions is strictly about stripping it all back, developing the kids, bringing in cheap young talent and selling it high. Otherwise, we need to swerve.
