Why is everyone wetting the bed and criticising the club after three days? Has it never occurred that several candidates had been "sounded out" before axing Cooper, but things have to be done properly. I.E full terms to be discussed, contracts drawn up, checked and signed, HR procedures, league registration, relocation issues (accommodation, family etc). According to this place, all it takes is. Do you want the job? Yes please. Righto see you in the morning. Oh can you just pop in to HR and sign the contract on your way into the office.

Hmm. So some journos claiming Potter has said he is not interested, others that the club has been in talks with potential replacements, but not approached Potter. Personally more inclined to believe the latter. If he has turned us down before (or simply wouldn't commit within the timeframe, depending on which version you believe) then, as far as the club may be concerned, that ship has has sailed. Had his chance we move on. Having said that, watch him be announced tomorrow.

All these so called experts and pundits saying we acted hastily etc. After only 12 games. FFS we are a third of the way through the season with 10pts. Extrapolate that over a season and we are looking at 30pts, which is relegation. That doesn't take into account we have had a relatively easy fixture list.

Back in the seventies we had done a deal with Liverpool to sign John toshak. Unfortunately the striker failed a medical and we pulled the plug on the deal. Toshak returned to anfield and scored a hattrick in his next game I believe.

I get that improvements in technology with boots, balls and pitches have made a big difference, along with higher fitness levels etc and, whilst the "quality" and technique of players seems to be of a higher standard in the modern game some of that is down to the above The issue I have is that a lot of the spontaneity has been coached out of players in favour of "systems". but I suggest that players of yesteryear would Have shown similar levels if they were playing today. George Best for eg would have been unplayable on today's pitches. The mud paths of previous eras were a leveller and we got a more competitive games and "shock" results than we do nowadays

So the PL were so cocksure that they ruled the entire football pyramid that they assumed they could do what they liked and the rest of the leagues would just follow whatever they wanted. We proved that their jurisdiction only applied to their competition and that they do not rule the entire football system. They bleat on about us dodging a bullet because we pointed out the inadequacies and lack of joined up thinking in their rules and we have still breached the spirit of the rules. Unfortunately for them, the law is decided on what is written and if that is not what is meant, then that is their fault for not ensuring that the actual words match the intent. They have brought this on themselves with their own arrogance. We just highlighted it

In a recent interview he was saying how good things were and that he was enjoying some of the new things they were trying and looking forward to the challenge ahead. A few days later he is whinging and wanting out. I know it is only a job to these players and they are not invested like many fans but ffs sometimes they come across like spoilt kids at the first hint of anything that does not go their way. If he has no appetite for the fight, or wish to play for the shirt, then he can do one.

I have no idea whether the manger (past or present) thinks he is good enough or not, but the coaches see the players daily in training and will know far more than anyone on here what their abilities, fitness and shortcomings are. For all we know, he could be the next Messi or simply rubbish, unfit, carrying an injury, lacking confidence or a disruptive character. Whatever the case there is something that is not sitting right either with the player himself or the coaching staff. There have been no noises regarding any injury/fitness issues, neither does it seem that we are desperate to offload or that he is being touted, or pushing himself, for a move elsewhere. Perhaps the general feeling is simply that he is not ready for the PL but still one for the future.
