  5. Rangers have received a building warrant to install the Tifo Pulley System on the Copland Stand at Ibrox. The application, originally submitted in September 2024, was officially approved toward the end of last month.
  6. True, but the atmosphere is better at scottish games, add booze then I'd imagine it'll only improve. The amount of bottles thrown at players and fans in scotland makes you wonder how vigarous the checks are up there lol.

They strive to make the atmosphere on matchdays greater. But they are also a driver for local charities. The group's original aim was to 'create an atmosphere which helps the players give that extra few per cent that is so often decisive'. They now hold a section in the Kop Stand as a mainstay on matchdays and have been praised by managers for making LE2 a difficult place to come. A success of a group for many, Union FS split opinion among the fanbase through the football season. Yet when the doors are closed at Leicester for the close season, the group don't stop with their contributions. Hosted at Kirby Muxloe Football Club on June 21, 20 six-a-side teams competed for the trophy and tournament shield, and some eye-catching team names were included. 'Kasey Mac & Cheese', 'Team of Barry Hayles', 'FC Watch and Analyse' - a nod to James Maddison's famous rant in March 2023—were all among the four-group tournament. “We’ve been doing tournaments now for six or seven years," Chris from Union FS told LeicestershireLive. "There’s always an ambition to make money for our chosen charity, LOROS. The first time we did it was jumpers for goalposts at Victoria Park, and there were a handful of people there. "This year, we raised £1,800 at Kirby Muxloe Football Club. They’ve got a good set-up there, we had a clubhouse, a bar and a really good 11-a-side 3g pitch that we divided into four six-a-sides. Previously, we’ve worked with The Grove on Braunstone Park, they’ve been really good, but this year we wanted to step it up, and we extended to 20 six-a-side teams. "The total will be split 50/50 between LOROS and us. It’ll go towards Tifos for next season. We have a couple of ideas, one of which has gone to the football club already, but we’ve got plenty of ideas.” Union FS produced one of their best tifo's yet for Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy (Image: Plumb Images) Bin Squad won the tournament, with Crispy Kickers lifting the shield. The winning squad was full of non-league players from across the Midlands, but one player is a favourite among Leicester City fans: Conrad Logan. The Irish goalkeeper moved to Leicester in 2001 and spent 14 years at the club. Logan's career at Belvoir Drive saw him endure eight loan spells with just 30 first-team appearances for the Foxes. After playing for Forest Green Rovers in 2020, Logan retired from professional football and joined Leicestershire's Anstey Nomads as a player-coach. He then spent a brief spell with Stamford before returning to Anstey, where he is currently their goalkeeper and vice chairman. Logan played in goal during Union FS's tournament and kept a clean sheet throughout. “Serious ringer that, wasn’t it?!," Chris added when asked about Logan's appearance. "We heard some rumours that he was coming and he was surprisingly good. His distribution was a joke. He was in great form and he stuck around afterwards for a beer and photos with fans. "He’s a bit of a cult hero so it added to the day and gave it some kudos. They won the main one. He didn’t concede a goal. They were a good side. They had a few lads from Coalville and another who has just joined Nuneaton, Kyle Jardine." Conrad Logan's Bin Squad won Union FS's annual football tournament (Image: Josh Holland) The day wasn't just about the football, though, something that the group purposely went out of their way to do to get more new faces on board. "Previously, it’s been marketed as a football tournament and that’s all it’s been with a speaker, a bar and football. This year, with it being bigger, we wanted to try and get City fans to come down, who aren’t taking part, have some food and back it. "We had more going on, like a couple of live DJs, we scoped up our food offering, had an inflatable darts board, had a colouring station for the kids to colour in Filbert the Fox, and we drew our annual raffle. The main award this year was a signed pair of gloves from Mads Hermansen.”
  17. Savage leaves Macclesfield, looks like he'll be taking over at forest green, and taking players with him.
  18. Interesting. I have to say I find wimbledon the dullest of the GS, I was all for changing the stuffy traditions and getting wimbledon to move with the times, I thought it would it more interesting, especially to a younger audience. But it's nice to hear an American lauding over wimbledon.
