This is absolutely dreadful, the only thing stopping me from falling asleep is the bursts of anger at how shit we are
-
To be fair they are doing absolutely terrible business They were 15th for xG last season, only the bottom 3, Everton, and Wolves created less They then sold their most creative player who led the team in both assists and xA They have now signed or rumoured to be signing 4 attacking players, none of which have any history of being particularly creative Ndoye has 13 assists in 102.4 equivalent 90 minute games Hutchinson 6 in 53.3 including only 4 in the Championship when they put up 90+ points Mcatee 6 in 45.4 Kalimuendo 10 in 111.3 MGW is basically the only creative players in the squad

Not a chance we are only paying Ayew 30k, will definitely be more

Choudhury (Wrexham interest, Football League World)

Wrexham are the Saudi of the Championship, bailing everyone out by overpaying for their dregs -
This is the one, I would like Nelson to start but he didn't fill me with confidence last night, still prefer to start him but won't be too upset if he doesn't
-
The entire downfall of this club can be traced to that shambolic 2021 transfer window Somehow ****ing Vestergaard was by a margin the best of the 4 permanent signings The fact Daka and Soumare can't even hack it in the Championship says it all, utter wank

We rejected £8 million for him 8 million of pure profit for him 8 million Great British Pound Sterling

Great to see 7 academy graduates starting with another 3 on the bench tonight A bit concerned about the lack of Evans, shocked he isn't even on the bench -
This is such a silly attitude to have Just because the manager is more qualified to have the job it doesn't mean EVERY single decision is going to be perfect Of course there will be occasions where they make mistakes and regular fans will actually know better I could have told anyone that Hoijlund would be a terrible signing for Manchester United, it's not deluded to think there are occasions where you would know better than the professionals because there are countless examples of them making very obviously bad decisions Are you saying that if he starts playing a 6-3-1 with Faes up front then you will blindly back him just because he knows better?

Feel for the man Being second choice behind Danny Ward must feel like losing a juggling contest to Captain Hook It's a level of emotional torture not many of us will ever experience -
yeah and he looked okay defensively but almost non existent offensively at full back, feel for it to be a worthwhile improvement he needs to be able to do both
-
For his level of contribution so far it would have been a stupid overpay if we had coughed up a fiver

Yeah he seemed to be on the verge of getting some first team chances at one point, think he had an injury and never seemed to kick on but might be wrong about that Shame to see Grist and Young not turn into anything either, remember both being highly rated youngsters we beat other Prem sides to get signed -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
studentofthegame replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's about expectations. You can't compare who finished higher because they have managed in different situations. Rohl took over a Sheffield Wednesday team on course for not only relegation, but the second worst start in Championship history. They had 3 points from 11 games and had only scored 5 goals. With that exact same team Rohl picked up 50 points in 35 games. 0.33 ppg before him, 1.43 ppg after 0.45 gpg before him, 1.11 gpg after 1.64 conceded per game before him, 1.43 after They ended up avoiding relegation and finishing 20th. This season he took them up to 12th. Russell Martin finished 4th with a Southampton team that were expecting to challenge for the title or minimum top 2. He then was on course for the worst ever Premier League season. Rohl took over in a bad situation and made things better. Martin had a good situation and underperformed. -

Because Martin is wank, his best ever season he finished 4th in the Championship with a team that would have been aiming for top 2 at a minimum. We also beat the absolute piss out of that same side. His second best finish is 10th in the Championship. He literally had Southampton on course for the worst season in Premier League history and this is apparently supposed to be the direction we want to go in. He is basically just a knock off Rogers and I didn't particularly like the actual Rogers -

With the Russell Martin news I think it is time to nail my colours to the mast Ruud in -
I think the entire purpose of FFP/PSR whatever bollocks they will come up with next is to ensure that they don't Financial controls were never about saving clubs, they were about closing the door and making a quasi league within a league, just like the new Champions League changes have all been about forming a quasi super league We did everything we were supposed to do, got unlucky to miss out on Champions League and spiralled after one terrible season It happens to almost every club that challenges the established elite, Spurs are basically the only team to have bridged the gap legitimately, Manchester City did it and Newcastle will do it by being funded by oil countries. People talk about Villa as bridging the gap but a few seasons ago they were in the Championship and during covid they were one technical error away from being relegated.
-
This won't be what happens though, nobody wants the shit we have available, it will be the likes of Nelson, Okoli, BEK that have to go, then we end up in an even worse position I agree that it would be perfect but our DOF is an absolute clown, the chance he is able to pull off a masterclass, offload the dead wood and keep our promising younger players is a fantasy sadly
-
Regardless of what happens this HAS to be the turning point, clear whatever dead wood we can, promote youth, and for **** sake stop spending inflated money and wages on old useless shite like Coady, Ayew, Decordova Reid etc etc. We should have used the Championship season as a reset year last time but didn't and then came back up, extended Vestergaard, spaffed money up the wall on Skipp, signed Ayew and Decordova Reid. Obviously I know the club won't do that though because they are quite frankly inept at all things related to running a football club efficiently and effectively. In the past their was always a vision, Pearson initially, then post title win the Puel into Rogers period was a perfect example of long term planning. Then under Rogers it transitioned to looking 12 months ahead and no further and has never seemed to change. The reason we are constantly in this mess is because every signing, every contract, every sale, is done with the focus on the immediate results of it and never on the longer term implications.
