  1. Agreed. As much as I do like JJ, I do think VK would create more space for Mavididi to run and create havoc simply by occupying an opposition defender with his overlapping runs.
  2. Wouldn't be surprised. Just been on their website (to have a nosey at what the exact fee is after all the rumours - Portuguese clubs tend to release figures), and they've not even bothered to announce they've sold him yet!
  3. I seem to recall George Thomas went out on loan to ADO Den Haag (under Alan Pardew no less). Probably a bit of a stretch including him since he had played 45 odd games for Coventry before we signed him - but he did then just sit in our development squad side for pretty much his entire tenure with us. Being extremely loose with "loaned out in Europe", Harry Panayiotou and Andy King were loaned out to Raith Rovers and Rangers, respectively, in Europe. Albeit, King was at the other end of his career!
  4. I would love Laurent Blanc to be honest, albeit would be a slight risk (as is any appointment) in that he's not managed over here before. His body of work with Bordeaux was remarkable, and he did well with PSG (I know that's not saying much but still have to manage all those egos). I like his style of football/ van Bronckhorst did well at first with Rangers, but after the Europa League final, it was a disaster. I do like the work he did with Feyenoord though, especially as financially they can't quite compete with Ajax and PSV. Lucien Favre is a good shout to be honest. Been linked with us before too. Steve Cooper is probably one of the more realistic ones, and we know he can manage in the Premier League. He will get supported here too rather than be worrying about being sacked by a megalomaniac of a chairman!
  5. Absolutely love the bloke. I almost wish he didn't go on loan to WBA, with his character I think we could have done with him in the trenches for us during our relegation scrap. Probably wouldn't have made much difference ultimately, but the fact he puts the effort in when some players were clearly not giving everything (YT!) would have been enough to include him for me.
  6. It might not be the kind of stand you meant, but seems Enzo has already taken one by calling out the hierarchy. He's come from Man City where everything is done uber profesionally. Everything is best of the best. Then he's come here, where we've got a glorified Academy director running all things football, and a board that don't tell him we can't sign players until it's almost too late. Enzo trying to get the club ran internally like a big club is a big positive for me.
  7. Money and prestige unfortunately.
  8. I'll believe it when I see it. I still can't believe I and others were duped into believing he was going to be a good signing. Hindsight.
  9. It might say more about me than I'd like, but I was more upset about this than I was about a family member passing away due to Covid during lockdown!
  10. I know what you mean. Some grown adult with a thick sticker book was trying to barge past my lad, I weren't having it. Channeled my inner Stevie Howard and stuck the elbows out I remember seeing Wes Morgan tell a 'fan' "No, you're taking the piss" after the 6th signature. The lad had a thick pile of player profile pics or something. I'd love to know how much he was planning to rip people off for on Ebay!
  11. To be fair most of the squad had pictures and signed autographs. In fact, a lot of Cardiff players did too, including Aaron Ramsey who was mobbed! My little 'un was overjoyed at meeting Vestergaard. What a reversal in fortunes for the big Dane (lump). Daka, Soumare, Souttar and Iversen all (unsurprisingly) got straight in their cars and disappeared. Danny Ward came out a little later than them, but had his baby with him so he can be forgiven for needing to get gone and not having photos, etc. Coady definitely a people person though, him and Albrighton. I'd hazard both would stay until midnight if it meant everyone who wanted a pic or autograph got one.
  12. Someone hit send a bit prematurely. Typical Lestah, can't even get a social media post done properly :p
  13. I used to love his prayer before the game, and the lap of honour after the match. Shame he was toss!
  14. Danny Ward, and the rest of the Wales players to be fair, were utterly horrendous. Armenia, and Borussia Mönchengladbach seem to have a player on their hands in Grant-Leon Ranos. Be interested to see how he gets on in the Bundesliga next season.
  15. I'd say that could be a description of our manager too!
  16. Can you surmise what they said, or post a link please? Missed what they've said, and I'd be interested to hear.
  17. Can think of worse places to bring up a bin lid to be honest.
  18. Clutching at straws perhaps, but you'd think Albrighton is the kind of character that knows he'd only be allowed to leave if we can get a replacement in. He's not an arse who'd kick off for playing time.
  19. To be fair, he has a great left peg on him.
  20. Fully agree with you on this. The only outlier would be Ryan Bertrand. Just get rid however which way. It's worth the money paying him off just to know for definite that he will never play for us again.
  21. Saw something on Sky (I haven't verified their accuracy as they are hit and miss) yesterday saying if Chelsea sign Enzo Fernández, their season's spending on transfer fees will only be £5m less than the whole Bundesliga combined for the same period. Utter madness and unsustainable.
  22. May he rest in peace
  23. Be nice if we could get him on loan perhaps for a fraction of his wages. Who am I kidding, our transfers team aren't that good to get a deal over the line that works for us rather than the player's existing club.
  24. I was also told once that Marlon Hareweood didn't actually like football and that he preferred cricket, and that football was just a job to him. Guess it shows given how crap he was. However, someone else told me that he's still playing at Sunday League level for one his mates. So maybe he does like football afterall?
  25. Looks an absolute bell end to me. Still, he's not a bad full back that aside.
