  1. Yep. Liked him for the Brazil Olympic team but since then... 👎
  2. Sign him up, we've never had a Brazilian play for us!!
  3. Spot on. The way he dealt with Salah in the 1-0 win over Liverpool at Christmas was marvellous and showed exactly what a good player he can be. Since then, his form has been a bit iffy, which is to be expected for a young player. Doesn't help that the rest of the team were muck at times either.
  4. Camavinga would feature highly on my wishlist of youngsters if money was no object and we had the pull of Real/Barca/Bayern. A truly fabulous young player.
  5. Seems a bit harsh leaving Douglas McWhirter and Ronald Brebner out, especially given as they played for the England team that competed on Britain's behalf in the 1912 Summer Olympics.
  6. It was like watching a 30 year old playing against a load of 7 year olds. The level was far, far, far beneath him. And he didn't lose headers (could do with him now perhaps lol). Absolutely gutted injuries ruined it for him (and us).
  7. Yeah came from Man Utd for a £1m in 2014 under NP, made a couple of first team appearances iirc
  8. This for me is why celebrating the FA Cup win was more emotional than winning the league. The league win was fantastic but we'd put ourselves in such a commanding position that even we couldn't balls it up. The FA Cup final however was simply down to 90 mins (plus stoppages). I don't think I've ever celebrated a goal with such gusto like I did Youri's. Gave myself a huge headache and burst a load of blood vessels in my eyes!!
  9. Great post - agree with every word.
  10. Great post. I would add further that if we, in the stands, can see what Barnes wants to do, then any half-decent defender will see it, and invariably stop it. Lookman's unpredictability is an asset worth keeping.
  11. This is a big concern for me. Also, we will undoubtedly pay out more than we receive when overhauling the squad. There are too many red flags for me with BR's transfer record. I really do believe that a new voice could revitalise some of our players and thus they'd be like new signings anyway, only already settled. Of course, whichever way we choose to go, it's a gamble.
  12. IIRC, it was a one off years before she got with Vardy. He's some boy Pete... Mel B, Rebekah Vardy, Kate Price, Chantelle Houghton and Casey Batchelor. That's some top A-List bonking he's done!
  13. I dare anyone to watch the Feyenoord documentary series on Disney+ and then not want Dick Advocaat in charge, if only for a few weeks while he dishes out some tough love. Still like that he quit Sunderland because they were crap, bemoaning the signings made by a certain Lee Congerton! Anyway, he isn't coming here but I'd love to see him dole out a bollocking to some of our lot.
  14. Even though I prefer my seat in L1, despite the ever growing presence of teenage/early 20s wannabe thugs, I have replied to the survey positively. Some of the UFS stuff I'm not keen on, that's life. But there's no doubt their efforts have to be welcomed and they have had a positive impact. The singing sections should be kept. Simple as.
  15. He checked out ages ago. He's gave us some wonderful performances but this season, in the main, he's been poor. Take the money and reinvest.
  16. He certainly does resemble someone with the weight of the world on his shoulders.
  17. Knew it was going to be a shit show when Sweet Caroline was played before the game, again. Is it just me or do the players look bored? If they're bored, it's no surprise the paying public are too.
  18. I found Rodgers' comments regarding aggression at set pieces frankly insulting. A lot of the set piece goals we concede are due to a braindead set-up i.e. mismatches when marking (Ricardo v Abraham), or crap positioning (whether that's zonal or man to man marking). Of course a percentage are down to the opposition wanting it more, but it would be bloody marvellous if, just once, Rodgers would take liability and say we set up wrong and that's down as us as coaching staff. Ooh look, there's a pig flying by!
  19. It pains me to say it but I think it's time for a change of manager. How much will it cost to replace 7 or 8 players or whatever the number is as needed for a squad overhaul? We are not going to get top whack for any of them so in all reality we are going to end up forking out many millions of the club's funds, and then the new players have to bed in and gel. Whereas, we could change the manager, and hope a new voice will bring the freshness and a turnaround in form. I know this is a gamble but I really do believe it is no more of a gamble than trusting Rodgers to overhaul the squad, only to probably play the same tactics. Soyuncu, for example, is not a bad defender. 18 months ago, he would be aggressive and take the ball as opposed to now where he gets rinsed. I believe a new manager could get him back on track.
  20. I'm glad you've mentioned this because I've been wondering for the past hour whether Vichai (God rest his soul) would have tolerated the malaise we have found ourselves in. Don't get me wrong, the malaise is as good as it gets with European runs and FA Cup wins but we can all see the football is slow and weary the majority of the time, and there have been some inexplicable defeats and collapses along the way.
  21. Seems weird on the face of things but given the fairly recent England friendly, and now this, I wonder if the FA are having a good look at us ready for using the expanded stadium in the Euros they want to (jointly) host.
  22. How are Chelsea U23's in that predicament? Haven't they got a load of internationals rotting around they're U23's, even without the 600 odd out on loan?!
  23. Yep. About as good as it was going to get tbf. All eyes on Thursday now.
  24. Have to say, I thought Soumare had his best game for us today since Spartak Moscow away. Hope he can now kick on and show the player he was for Lille.
