I’m just happy to see we managed to secure one transfer rumour at least today. Even if it is tenuous at best, I will suspend disbelief and fully buy into it so I can feel part of the deadline day excitement.

At this point I’d be quite happy with sky sports inventing a completely fictitious transfer ‘saga’ about us. Just to give me hope, and some entertainment for the evening.

Feel like Brendan needs to force the issue here if we are going to get any transfer traction today. Instead of analysing something boring, or whenever he does, he should leave his office, get in his SUV and conspicuously drive past Rob Dorset and give a rogue, window down interview saying he needs ‘2 or 3 more players’. It’s an old gambit, but whatever they are doing now isn’t working, and that would provide sky with the 30 seconds of footage they need to fill the next half hour of coverage.

Come on Brendan, get a body in.
