I sat amongst the Hull fans today. I loved how parents were pointing out Vards to their kids. He inspired a mix of fear and obvious respect from them. I was in the upper tier and there was none of the venom he gets from fans behind the goal. I was a little surprised at how amused people around me were when our fans gave it the ' Jamie Vardy, he's won more than you' response to the 'grass' crap.

I was in the top tier opposite our fans today. Our support was good and at times impressive. The Hull fans were really up for this one but they only got anything going at the very start and after their goals (hilarious that Vards had no respect for that 🤣). We had good volume and we came out on top throughout, barring a couple of their signature songs. A very new experience for me sat amongst their lot.

I was there, watching from the family enclosure because like you said, the Shrewsbury fans had been given pen 2. When the third and fourth goals went in for us and after all that had happened; I went so crazy that I was sqealing with joy. I was 15 years old and had seen nothing like it. I was exhausted after watching that game.

Good points. Unfortunately this seems to be the way clubs operate. The devil in me wants there to be a candour policy so that statements are made to season ticket holders and members. It'll never happen though.

Something that still irks me is that the club bombarded the fans with communications and incentives to go to matches when we were crap. I went to the entire run in when we were relegated to league one and again when we were bouncing straight back. Never mind a cold night in Stoke, try a cold night in Hartlepool! All this whilst I lived in the high North Midlands. I had been buying gold family memberships but stopped when I moved even further away. I did not see a single incident of crowd trouble despite the fact that we took very good numbers to the likes of Hereford, Cheltenham and Carlisle. When we were winning the league and being a real pain in the arse to the Super League contenders it all stopped and loads of fans who had supported them in the dark days missed out on tickets to those during our glory days. As the saying goes, "it is what it is," but I did think a little bit that those fans could at least have been given a chance to somehow get rewarded with the odd opportunity to see an anticipated game. The Club do have the records of who got tickets during those few dark seasons and helped get us back up. Ps. Of course I'm not asking for anything now, i'm, just making the point.

I liked the Milne team of the eighties. Some truly great performances and individual quality on show. However, like Jock Wallaces team, Little had a group who gave everything for the shirt and scrapped for every ball. Both of these squads managed to captivate the crowd, inspiring passion and you felt at one with them, sharing every high and low. Martin O'Neill managed to do the same afterwards, of course and it makes each era precious in my memory as I attended a lot of matches in this period.

Does anyone know whether the LCFC Women might play at the Arena? If they maintain their place in the Premier League then surely they'd regularly get decent attendances.
