  1. Dornan was a massive surprise! There had been leaks suggesting Woodall was taking on Aragorn but they managed to keep Dornan seriously quiet. I think he'll do well, but it will won't be a patch on Viggo's work. Winslet is apparently playing Sméagol's grandmother.
  2. AMAZING spec script, terribly executed with the wrong director and cast. The script was going around screenwriting circles for a couple of years, getting a huge amount of buzz for its originality and there was genuine excitement when it got placed on The Black List. The writer got headhunted by Ridley Scott to do Prometheus and he ended up on other major projects too. Then they went with two of the most oversaturated actors at the time, who had practically zero chemistry between them, and they deviated way too much from the script's hard sci-fi thriller themes and turned it into a really weird romance space drama that didn't really work. Great idea for a film but the eventual product was merely passable. It did push Spaihts towards Dune though, so it was worth it.
  3. I have an assessment for adult adhd tomorrow, after almost a year of waiting. Feels like a major, consequential life moment after some ****ing horrible years with depression and life paralysis. Haven't been able to relax for over a week. Anxiety is sky high. Sleep is non-existent. Whole body is just ****ing knackered.
  4. “It is almost as if the Premier League won't rest until it kills a club, just to show it can” - Martin Samuel Yep.
  5. That’s us ****ed for a generation. Even more astonishing when you consider we’ve had some sort of sporting advantage this whole time. Apparently.
  6. 0.00 Lets do this Foxes! 💪 2.39 Goal. Swansea. 0-1
  7. Completely agree. Although his manifesto didn't include an EU referendum so we would likely still have been in the EU, and our economy wouldn't have had 6-8% wiped off it nor the loss of £90bn in tax receipts. And we'd have actual control over our immigration so we wouldn't have had a "Boriswave" of over a million people coming in one year. Nor would we have a small boats crisis as we'd be able to return them to their point of entry to the EU. I don't know how he'd have handled COVID of course but it's quite likely he would have actually attended COBRA meetings and listened to scientific advice as well as acting on it, so there would likely have been much fewer cases and deaths, so we wouldn't have had a former PM culpable for gross negligence manslaughter like Boris. We'd have no Liz Truss crashing the economy; similarly I doubt he would have spaffed much of the £44bn up the wall on her energy price guarantee by giving the wealthiest households more money either. So yeah, very similar.
  8. I voted for Chaos with Ed Miliband in 2015, I often wonder how they’re getting on in that timeline. They’ll never know how lucky they are.
  9. Lord Of The Flies. Stunning production. Directing, photography and lighting were especially phenomenal. The cast were incredible too. Knew a little bit about the story but it still kept me hooked all the way through.
  10. Literally as we speak the Daily Mail are currently featuring a headline complaining about Labour's policies leading us to a recession on the horizon, without a single mention of Trump, Brexit, or the 14 years of Tory destruction we just went through - ALL things they support and have led us directly to this point. Absolute ****ing scum.
  11. "Shut it libtard" Probably
  12. Finally finished Pluribus - what a show!
  13. It’s 25 years since the collapse of ITVDigital next year and nothings changed.
  14. As of today’s result, Leicester City have STILL won every single trophy more recently than Arsenal.
  15. Thanks for keeping us abreast of the situation.
  16. One thing that irked me though - I watched it at the Vue first and then the Odeon (first time I'd been there in a few years). Both times the projection wasn't full screen, so it had several black lines of different shades around it. Took away from the film experience a bit. Did this happen to anyone who saw it at the Phoenix or Showcase?
  17. Seen Project Hail Mary a couple of times now. Really enjoyed it. We need more films like this and The Martian's sort of vibe.
  18. Finally caught up with The Penguin. Absolutely loved it. Both leads were phenomenal
  19. Yet we were only the 5th highest earners, because of the broadcasting arrangement gifting more games and therefore more money in facility fees to the “bigger” clubs. The same measure used to control how much clubs are even able to profit. The entire financial structure of football in this country is a reprehensible piss take.
  20. The lack of consequences for generational cheats like those two is the April Fools.
  21. They got St Patrick's Day wrong the other week as well. Merry Christmas everyone. x
