  1. They ripped people off when we were financially competent too. This commercial side of the club makes Barrie Pierpoint look like Arthur Daly (look it up kids)
  2. If anything that should be a lesson to people about how football CAN change. Martin admits we're were terrible for those 12 games when he took over but the team needed backing not hammering. They turned it round and we got promoted on pure momentum. Pearson had this as well. Two of our play off seasons had winless runs in them and there were Sack him threads in both (no surprise there). He had supposedly lost the dressing room too according to the Know It Alls. Enzo isn't going to be sacked. With 8 games left it isn't going to happen, the debate is pointless. However shit we think we are the team needs backing because if we don't go up, this club will be in horrendous trouble. The EFL will use us as an example and whip us naked in the street for all to see. Friday should be the turning point. But only for the manager, fans and players getting their shit together and giving it a massive go. No-one is playing well right now. The way our fans talk you'd think Leeds were Brazil 1970 and Ipswich were Clough's Forest side of the late 70s. Neither of them are destroying teams. In 2 of their last 3 Leeds struggled to get a point against Hudds and Watford. If you don't back the team now, don't bother turning up IF we get promoted. It's easy to support teams when things are going well.
  3. Honestly did you see Leeds and Ipswich yesterday? Both of them look as ragged as we are, Leeds were completely out of ideas (for about the 10th time this season) and ended up getting an equaliser from 6 yard box ping-pong. Ipswich clung on to a one goal lead and got battered in the 2nd half. Nobody is putting in vintage displays. One of the reasons I was dreading relegation is because it's always like this, God awful football in a bun fight of a division with teams dragging you down to their level. You get stuck in this league it's like quicksand. That's why we were here for a decade last time. It's why it took Leeds 14 years and Forest 23 years to get back out again. Clubs like Sheff Wed and Ipswich have rotted down here. People, including me, girly totally carried away with our massive points lead. Yes we shouldn't have lost it not even half of it but that's this division. It's not "competitive" it's just horrible.
  4. But he hasn't changed his coaching methods or style since Stoke or Watford. That's purely down to players doing stupid things and making poor decisions. I watched 3 or 4 players today try flicks or tricks when another player was ten yards away for an easy pass. He isn't coaching them to do that and 5 or 6 weeks ago they weren't doing it. Fatawu now seems intent on beating 3 men rather than going direct. Since that goal against Bournemouth he seems intent on doing it again rather than set someone else up or - crazy idea - score a different way. They all seem to think winning games like we were doing is boring and we need to jazz it up a bit. I'm pissed with his late subs but honestly, none of that bench offers much more than the starting eleven and all of the people asking for subs are the people that have slagged off Praet, Yunus, Nacho, Wanya etc all season
  5. That Puel era was tedious. With all his experience, he tried to phase out Vardy, left the likes of Iborra on the bench whilst sticking with James & King and apart from one or two high points, there's always the memory of Newport, batterings from Crystal Palace and turning a win into a defeat at Wolves. His one achievement was signing Tielemans, if he can even be credited with that.
  6. Granted. From where we were if we miss out it eclipses the 5th place finishes and probably most other football slumps but the comparison was to previous teams and I'm sorry this bad run in a good season is nothing like that mercenary-filled Mandaric era that was only saved from being far worse because his 5th random appointment in 2 years was a Mr N Pearson.
  7. Boring? And it's barely the same set of players is it? We had nine new ones and about 11 out. There's only 6 left in the squad from last season or previous fvck ups. Billion eh? No wonder they look knackered Yeah but most of the whining isn't connected to future effects it's all about bashing the manager they never wanted and saying I told you so. It was a crap performance, Vardy had one of those days and Enzo's beard is a different colour. But absolutely no-one not me or a single other person on this forum - however much they "know" - has any idea how the next month will pan out. There's just a section that are always overly-negative, even when we win, even when we win umpteen on the spin, and all the same tropes come out - lost dressing rooms, luxury training grounds, players wanting out etc etc
  8. No we've had some decent ones, Stoke was great, Leeds too (for 80 mins) but there's certain games where we just don't get going, too many flasks in the crowd.
  9. I don't think anyone does but Daka's "speed" is a myth because he has zero anticipation to back it up. He loses a yard simply by not noticing the ball is heading his way.
  10. Did we need another thread for this?
  11. I thought we'd lost a game of football, threads on here tonight are like a browse through the pages of planyourfuneral.com and some of you have been like this all season. The fans are more depressing than the result.
  12. We're all doomed! Easter in your house is just a load of bearded blokes on crucifixes and thorny crowns isn't it?
  13. There would be a "sack him" thread within 3 weeks.
  14. No. The Kelly, Levein and Holloway years were exceptionally bad and only recency bias will say otherwise. I don't think being ridiculously ahead of most of this division for 2/3 of the season comes close to watching the likes of Alan Maybury, Stephen Hughes, Josh Low and the rest *mental block on some of the other God-awful shiiiite we enlisted* destroy our hopes and dreams. 5 or 6 years of mercenaries are far worse than a group of previously decent players losing their form at the business end of a season.
  15. Probably one of the few I'd fancy us to win right now. Saints have their own issues and their own (relative) slump to deal with.
  16. This. Leeds away, Daka and Mavididi miss sitters. Bristol away, Vardy misses chances he'd normally score in his sleep. KDH, Fatawu, Faes have been pretty poor over several games. I'd question not playing Coady over Faes and Hamza shouldn't be part of any defence ever but the XI he selected today should be dominating that Bristol City team. He isn't going to be fired mid-season no matter how much anyone on here calls for it, it's not even worth the debate but someone in that dressing room needs to wake these players up because this could become worse than Newcastle 96 and far worse than our top 4 bottlings when we can at least say we lost out to bigger clubs.
  17. Oh good another Enzo thread.
  18. ✋🏻😝🤚🏻
  19. Really? You think a new guy comes in tomorrow and a magic wand takes us on a promotion winning run? And again...who's coming in to this financially crippled club who can't register any players?
  20. You don't need to ask any of those questions if Vardy scores. And Vardy will be the first to admit that. Play shit and still win is the sign of champions but if you don't score you don't win. Clichés but true.
  21. Framed this. Cheers.
  22. Criticise him all you like but this one is on Vardy. Bag two of those chances and we're in a completely different place. He can make changes earlier, pick a different side whatever, but he can't score the goals for them.
  23. This one baffles me. Justin should be RB and play Doyle left side. Hamza should be nowhere near that backline.
  24. This is as much on the players as him TBF. Vardy should be burying at least two of those chances and then it's not even a conversation.
  25. For a minute I thought you were serious.
