Hodgson in October.

It's not actually been the liveliest window so far, can only see this coming week being nuts. Half the league will want two/three more and there's a few like us who need to shift deadwood.
-
Wolves been linked with Olmo. Heard about him first last summer and from what I've seen he's a real top talent. Can play attacking midfield, from either flank or as a false nine, would suit Rodgers perfectly.
-
Easy decision to sell. Wouldn't get into our first XI or second XI. Popular player but our squad size is ridiculous and clearly needs trimming.

I've been as critical of Albrighton as anyone on this forum, but happy to say his preseason has been class. Two goals and two assists in 27 games last season was poor, but to me Rodgers is getting him to play to his strengths and at the same time benefit the team. I thought his role in the diamond today was ideally suited to his attributes and as a bonus he scored a quality goal. Everyone knows his attitude is first class, my criticism previously has been his lack of impact on our attacking game given his obvious technical ability, whether through tactics or his decision he's struggled over the past two years and resorted to desperate hoofing from deep. But Rodgers appears to have had a big impact, as he's looked lively in the 4-3-3 as well as the diamond today, his passing and delivery has been excellent. Pass to Ricardo to "assist the assist" if you will against Scunthorpe, the goal against Cheltenham, the goal today, all were quality. Shoe in to start versus Wolves for me.

Even better for you I'd imagine with the PR nightmare Man City have had out there. You do need to bulk out the squad though, much news on incomings?
-
Thought he was good today and looked fully focussed. If the move doesn't happen I've no doubt HM will be fully committed.
-
Great to see both fullbacks assist today. There's an argument they'll be our most important players this season if we play narrow formations such as the 4-3-3 or diamond.
-
Didn't think it worth it's own thread, but BT Sport at 8pm are showing our classic 3-3 draw with Arsenal from 97/98. I remember being off school ill that day but still managed to persuade the old man to take me in the evening. Bergkamp was unbelievable.

We owe a lot to that Howard and Fryatt partnership.
-
Given his struggles and the fact he was an unfancied backup, I've got so much time for what he became in our backline. Been said before but his defence of the backpost is probably the best I've seen in a fullback and he was arguably our most consistent defender through 15/16 and 16/17. From what I've seen, he'll do well in the media, speaks well and looks comfortable on camera. Not sure shadowing Jenas will do him any favours though.

Screams of our name being used by agents, we won’t spend €35m on a backup as has been said.

Just signed for Sevilla.

Sounds familiar, fair play to them all for being on script. Had a very similar exchange with one today.

https://www.afcb.co.uk/news/first-team/club-statement-on-ryan-fraser General consensus from Bournemouth is that Fraser will be staying for the next season come what may, hence all talk of him leaving was scrapped after this came out. Quite unusual for a club to come out with a statement like this.

Jorge Mendes running both Forest and Wolves?

Pascanu in the Romania Euro U21 squad

I'm sure plenty of us watched Ricardo for Portugal in the WC last summer as they were knocked out by Uruguay. He was quite frankly rubbish . Bit of patience won't hurt. -
I remember this being covered last summer, the leaks stopped when Shakespeare and a few of the backroom staff left the club in 2017. That’s all assumption, of course, but the timing did seem to fit.
-
Bailly also never had a proper centreback partnership at Manure. If he came here, he’d start with Evans, who’s got class and experience, which would help him a lot. If he could stay fit I’d take him all day long.
-
Haven’t seen this mentioned, could be wrong, but he’s decent playing as an inside forward from the left. Given his physicality I actually think he could be quite a decent foil for Vardy and add goals, even if it is 8-12 a season. Potentially ideal for the 4-3-3 and at only £5m a reasonably low gamble.

The way these old rehashed rumours are going I’m fully expecting Maynard to be dragged up by the press very soon.
-
Give over. Two goals and two assists in 27 league games. Useful against the big boys when we need a more defensive shape but he’s a huge part of why we’ve struggled to break down resolute sides with his aimless hoofing and reluctance to get forward and support the attack. Just imagine if he was held to anywhere near the same standards as Gray...
