I would hate to support Southampton at this moment. Over the last decade they have lost anything they had about them. Then watching some of the goals they concede, time and time again, just because the manager doesn't want to change. Must be pretty boring heading to their games.

I work shifts but get up at 06:45 every work day regardless. This runs over into Saturday though as I just know to get up now. Sunday's are sometimes better and I can stay in bed an hour or so longer. I find it harder in winter though as it's colder and darker. Summer time I enjoy the early mornings, best part of the day.

"Lunch is for wimps" ?? Sounds like she's been watching to much Only Fools and Horses.

Will Vardy score another 21 PL goals and get into the all-time top 10?

It is incredible to think we're watching a player that could play 500 times for the club and score 200 goals for the club. Never thought I'd ever see a player reach 500 games once Kasper left. -
I'm all for other Countries hosting it but not to Countries like Saudi Arabia. Of course I'll be watching it but with everything there like no free speech I just don't think it's right they hold it.

Agreed. Arteta talks a lot about Cruyff's influence though. It always interests me that Pep, and other great players, some of which have gone on to be decent managers, came from working under Cruyff. When you look at what Cruyff did for Barcelona, Ajax and football in general. I know Cruyff is regarded as one of the greatest players and managers of all time but he must be the most influential person on modern football also.

One of my favourite songs of all time. I was reading about this recently actually and I felt underwhelmed after hearing Justin Haywood say he titled the song after satin bedsheets that his girlfriend sent him Still a masterpiece of a song though.

Plymouth got Sheffield United and Middlesbrough in their next two games as well... ouch. -
It's getting even worse now but clubs have sold out unfortunately. I just don't bother going anymore if it's a ridiculous kick off time. I missed West Ham last week, no chance was I bothering getting in at midnight. But someone else will always go instead, that's the issue too. Not enough people will put their foot down and not go.

I thought he was the cheap option for Wolves at the time. I thought they'd go down but he actually did a decent job in the end.
-
I think it's about moving players on and getting new players in, not necessarily the manager staying for a long time. Doesn't matter what players have won, the team has to change. Pep is good at that, I think, as was Fergie.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

Years ago he had Cancer. Long before his return to Millwall. Didn't expect that one coming. Done so well with Millwall as well, albeit not won for a couple games now. -
I'm guessing he means the season where we had Ward in goal and got relegated.

You can't beat winning trophies, and those two both delivered us major trophies we thought we'd never win, but none of it is possible without Pearson's work in the first place (twice).
-
I've posted many times that BBC 5 Live is the best coverage and I prefer to listen on radio and do other things round the house. Couldn't imagine sitting down and watching two back to back football matches on Sky. But overall I agree. People will moan about Sky moving games but then happily pay for it.
-
Nothing changes in this Country though does it. People moan but still go to games. I wish all fanbases would just boycott games for a weekend or something.
-
Last time at Goodison best not be moved ffs. I can't cope with all these changes anymore really starting to annoy me now. Granted Arsenal won't probably move but 8pm is a ridiculous time to KO. A reason why I didn't go to the West Ham game mid week is because I didn't want to get in at midnight.
-
Corberan. Really? Not only WBA manager but also struggling to find a win with them. I would imagine it'd be the first time a manager has moved directly between Wolves and WBA?
-
Was always going to be the way. He was never a player that was good enough for a top 6 team.
-
One Nigel Pearson.

Last time I went was the League Cup fixture under Rodgers. My train ended up being stuck for ages so I ended up getting to the ground around half an hour in. They whizzed us up to the away end in one of the lifts. Only time I've ever been there without having to do the full flight of stairs. Still looking forward to this Saturday though. Albeit they are a team I hate losing too.

Things You Wish You'd Never Have To See Or Hear Again

Quite ironic that he's one of these that calls everyone "snowflakes" yet he's now wound up about a joke from Have I Got News For You. It's always those sort of people that seem to actually get offended easily -
Higher expectations back then perhaps?

8/10 is pushing it, he hasn't been that good.
