Footballers are overpaid for what they do. There needs to be a wage cap on players. Winks basically earns in a week more than the median salary of a wage earner over two years in this country. And then when you see the output for that financial outlay and the general population fighting inflationary prices everywhere, the easiest way to vent your frustration is at the players. Fair enough. Bottom line is, footballers are paid too much. There's no passion in the game any more, it's all about over inflated wages that footballers don't deserve.

At least we won't see Gavin Ward for a while...
