Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

Sounds like you'll be going down the True Geordie route. I look forward to the episode with the Liver King -
Couple of great scraps on the undercard. Was very disappointed with the main bout, only Chisora turned up, Joyce looked and sounded chuffed with himself post fight after one of the tamest performances I've seen.. Really weird guy, he's either incredibly dense or completely detached from reality. McCann v Baluta was the scrap of the night for me and Sharp v Garner a close second. Good to see Royston and Moses pick up wins and hopefully they can step up the quality of opponent again in their next fights.

Kompany was inflexible and married to a certain way of playing. What's your point?
-
Now he's had a chance to see just how awful our back ups are, hopefully he's going to concentrate on using the good players and honing the talents of the 3 quality youngsters that he's got available.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

Indeed it is -
Agreed on that.

Absolutely - literally #1 must be emotional control. People need to trust you. If he was defending himself or others then fair play, but once someone's tasered and on the deck, that's purely revenge and not serving a purpose. If he's waving a knife around then give him a bullet to the head by all means. If you've got someone in your control and on the ground then that's it, job done. Not keen on the police dishing out their own version of justice. Given the circumstances I think any kind of jail time would be possibly be harsh, but for me, he has quite clearly proven that he hasn't got the correct mentality to be working for the police. My two penneth anyway.

Cor, you really shouldn't be working with weapons if you can't control your emotions.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

That's a lot of words but I don't know what the point you're making is. Deciding how to concede goals Hopefully they're able to get some literature sent out to the other 19 clubs, to make sure the opposition are aware of the manner in which Chelsea want to concede goals. -

I don't understand the points tbf. But are you saying if people are P1 this season and don't go to any away games, then they'd still have priority over say someone that was P2 but went to every away game? -
If he's genuinely on 100 bags a week then I'd have no interest. The lad will just see us as a cash cow for 5/6 years.

When will point deductions be announced. I find it mad that they aren't applied pre season so everyone knows where they stand. -
Steve Cooper is going to lose a lot of my goodwill if Ward starts this season as #2.
-
If we loan him out, the cover will be blown and he's going nowhere for nothing. If we can get a few million while his stocks at the highest it will ever be, then we should go for it.

"McAteer would be a brilliant signing" has thrown me

I'd like to throw Peterborough Sports into the mix as well as a team that's focused more on a few years of short term success rather than infrastructure. Can you tell it still annoys me that they got promoted ahead of us and the chairman admitted he funded the promotion push by delaying paying the tax bill

Barwell will be fine, their bank account is full of false promises courtesy of Jimmy Ginelly -
Y Not Festival in 2 weeks, cannot wait. Looking forward to seeing Jamie T for the first time. Absolute tonne of upcoming bands that I'm excited to see as well. Off to this feeling by the sea in September as well. The Ks and Royston Club headlining.

This will forever be my point. There's no correct way to play. The only thing two things I ask of the team that I support are 1) more often than not, play to your collective potential. 2) Have an active focus on attempting to win matches rather than focusing on not losing. I think Spain have beautifully combined looking after the ball, pressing high and actually taking risks in the final 3rd. A lot of teams attempt to do the holding onto the ball, with mixed results, me and my dad always laugh at the football league highlights when you see about 33% of goals come from a team losing the ball on the edge of their box. Pressing feels like it's very rarely done. I watch far too many games where 1 team will sit back with all 11 behind the ball, while the other team slowly passes it. Then when possession changes hands, exactly the same happens but the teams switch roles. Taking risks and trying to create chances in the final 3rd feels almost non-existent at times until it gets to the 70+ minute mark and a team is losing. It usually takes a mistake or a worldie to kick a game into life.
-
It'll take a year or 2 but everyone will start copying Spain again The coaches, media and fans just need to be told by someone successful what the "correct" way to play is. They can then explain to everyone how the game has changed and people try and score goals now, not like the dinosaurs obsessed with possession.
