  1. we rolled the dice in the stupidest way possible, on 80k wages for squad players. Every signing is a risk, the best clubs just take calculated ones. If you sign a new star midfielder and he gets crocked in a foul in his first game, that's shit luck. If you sign a new striker with a specific profile and good underlying data in a different country who then doesn't quite work out (This is exactly what we did with daka and why that signing wasn't a bad one, much as he's this forums bete noire), you took a calculated risk with odds in your favour and it didn't work, happens to every club (although you should always have a mitigation strategy, a way of recouping what you can). what's unacceptable is taking obviously bad risks without any concern and then doubling down on them, which is what we've done on big wages for failed prem players in the likes of Bertrand, Skipp, Ayew etc
  2. he's a rent-a-gob and not that bright
  3. the problem is you're thinking from a health of the nation perspective. justifying cancellations because the benefits won't be seen for 10 years is essentially "it'll be a different government in charge at that point and we won't give them free credit", because it's been half a century at a minimum since we had a government that wasn't completely self serving
  4. the ownership and boardroom structure have conclusively demonstrated an allergy to making good decisions or learning from mistakes. If the captain is purposefully running the ship into rocks, it doesn't matter how good the bosun is or how much effort the crew put into bailing, the ships going down.
  5. you've heard the twat speak before right?
  6. mass late arrival would be better. On live TV against a big six side, mass protest outside the ground and people not entering until 15 minutes in so all the TV build up, kick off etc is done against a backdrop of empty stands
  7. that's Twitter these days. It's why Rudkin has spent the whole day trying to work out how to sign up rather than answering his phone
  8. and we'd have been a joke, spending big money on shit while sitting mid table championship forever, if King Power had worked without Pearson, Shakey and Walsh. Pearson could have gotten us up on a shoestring, he nearly did in 2010.
  9. 100% if he'd come back but let's be honest, he's above us now.
  10. he turned us around under Mandaric, got us into the playoffs and was one chipped penalty away from a final vs a team we'd already beaten twice that season. The money helps but it's a manager and backroom staff that built the club, not a duty free company who chucked money at Sven and his mercenary army, or Sousa, when they first came in.
  11. starting to think this 5 new players might not be happening
  12. surely asset stripping in this case would be selling him and pocketing the dividends
  13. rejecting £8m pure profit on a championship standard player
  14. getting rid of coady is great but this is an absolutely dog shit choice of replacement
  15. those fewer losses to account for mean nothing if theres a greater reduction in headroom. The issue with PSR isn't just that we've got those losses to account for, it's that we've then not got headroom to spend without breaching.
  16. the babys dead though so chuck it in that bin
  17. King Power will take Rudkin with them, because no one else can possibly think he's anything other than incompetent
  18. but by that point we'll be back at 61m allowable losses because we'll be a championship also-ran
  19. we can just not register players currently at the club if we deem them too useless to play a role. Just requires us having 25 other players.
  20. I mean we do have the stupidest squad in the league so that could be the other explanation
  21. it can be pretty long. Brentfords dof is also coming up on 10 years towards the end of this season, Txiki Begiristain at man City has been there for nearly 13 years. It's a role with longevity because it sets the style and recruitment strategy for players and managers in a well run club
  22. why would he walk? he's never going to get another job in football, he's only got this one because he's the family friend of a nepo baby, and while there's no professional standards demanded of him by said nepo baby, he can just put his feet up and rake in the big bucks. If the plebs start complaining, then go fetch the stale donuts and cans of chang, they'll shut each other up soon enough
  23. yea no, we've seen that piece of shit take the field as well.
  24. that woo chant should be punished with 60 points deductions for both clubs imo
