Zadar is a nice, smaller and slightly less touristy place to visit I'd say. Affordable, good food and drink. Plitvice Lakes are only about an hour from there as well which are beautiful, although do get incredibly busy in the summer.

Yeh it looks lovely and definitely appreciate it'll be the pricier part of the trip in terms of accomodation and food.

No, Varenna is where I meant, plan was to do a few days there before train to Bologna. Would you advise against?

Thanks all for the Italy tips, much appreciated! I think we've landed on Varenna, Bologna and Florence across 11 days and will likely do some day trips to some smaller towns/areas.

Yeh any other season these would be gone first 2 days. Saturday, 3pm, down the road. But who knows at the mo.

Would really appreciate any tips/suggestions on where to prioritise on a first trip to Italy (outside of Rome for our semi-final). There are so many good looking options and I'm struggling to narrow it down. We have visited a fair bit of Spain (Andalucia being our favourite area) so now quite keen to see some of Italy. We mostly look for walkable cities/towns, with a focus on food and drink and some decent architecture/history/mesiums to check out in between. Quite open to visiting multiple places as well.

Southern Spain is just the best. So many good towns and cities, and offer much more than Barcelona and Madrid for me.

Oh nice one. For boozers, The Anchor (just been renovated but on a good way, White Swan and the Old Crown. More modern bars, Kilder (great for craft beers and food), the Rainbow, or a few options in the Custard Factory. Nortons is a great Irish pub and may well have music on out the back of you fancy that too.

Agree with some of this, but it does ignore the fact that we looked good first half. Competely dominated, created cances, had 12 shots, 4 on target and obviously went 1-0 up. So we do have the potential to do it. This was with Monga completely nulified too. It is a big worry though that Pompey came out looking much better and we just couldn't respond and not could Marti.

Anyone going the Streets "Grand Don't Come for Free" tour? Fairly priced I thought compared to some. Got the Friday in Manchester.
