The SSN reporter when they find out they're covering us during the transfer window...
-
Shame it’s January, would’ve defo had Stephen’s 70s jumpsuit on my Christmas list! 🤩🕺🏻
-
i.e. she watched a couple of YouTube videos!
-
Utterly bizarre play there. I don’t think anyone even thought she was a traitor. Not entirely sure what I’ve just watched tbh!
-
Never warmed to Steffen Freund when he was here. Ghezzal also used to irritate me, basically for not being Mahrez (probably not his fault!).
-
Agreed and for the forwards it might be a step too far. Ideally we needed Evans to be hitting similar numbers of appearances to Monga/Page who both look set for 15-20 games this season. For whatever reason he’s more in the 0-1 category!
-
Our hand has been partly fixed by finances as well as talent in the academy but hoping we replace a lot of the existing squad with homegrown players next season: Ricardo -> Aluko/Joseph Faes -> Wilson Brown Winks and Soumare -> Braybrooke and Cartwright Ramsey -> Alves Daka and Ayew -> Evans and Hutchinson I’m sure there’s others and some of these may not quite be ready, but I’d be a lot more excited for the season if we have this kind of squad (with a few older more experienced players in key positions). Then replace those on loan with the next academy generation. May have teething problems in the short term while they settle into the Championship but it’s also a win:win for PSR.
-
In the few games I’ve watched BrayBrooke this season he very much seems to play the Winks role. Sit deep and pick the ball off defence, technically strong in tight spaces, decent range of passing, keeps the ball moving and a CDM who breaks play but not in the Ndidi type way.
-
I think it’d be a fair assumption to say if any club had offered his book value in any of the last few windows we’d have taken it. Same with Soumare, Daka, VK. Unfortunately the list of clubs willing to meet that for an underperforming player and match his wages was probably very (very!) small. If PSR has done one thing it’s punish clubs who overpay for players and put them on high wages as you’re just stuck with them. Unfortunately that’s been our transfer modus operandi for several years now.

Slimani over Akinbiyi all day for me.
-
Fair, the option defo isn’t ideal. TBH I’m just glad to see him gone as him being here was a lose:lose for both parties and it pretty much nails Nelson on as first choice.
-
Good move for all parties really. He gets a clean slate and 6m to earn a permanent move to Monaco and we get a player who doesn’t want to be here and some cash off the books.
-
Jon Rudkin -> Inexplicably successful character in a once successful organisation -> Mickey Mouse (think I’ve gone off brief here sorry!)
-
Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
brookfox replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
Loan with an option. So basically a loan. -
Seems pretty clear we need players out before any come in. Sort of like an inverted okey cokey; you ship some players out, some more come in, out, in, out, in, Marti is the king!
-
Impressive given he made his debut for Northampton at 16. Rudkin really does hold them back!
-
Honourable mention on the list for Stolarczyk. He’s only 3yrs older than Nelson, which given their respective positions isn’t that much. Feel like Championship may be his level but in the overall pyramid of football that’s still a very impressive career.

The FA Cup draw equivalent of going on a magical mystery tour while on holiday and being taken to Abbey Park.
-
Controversial opinion; I get if you do it for GTF you do it for the GOAT, but any grown up who cares if their football club didn’t wish someone a happy birthday on social media needs a good look in the mirror!
-
As a few others have mentioned, John’s House is an amazing experience. Had the 7 course taster menu (plus 3 snacks to start, cheese and petit fours!) and the food, service and ambience were all very special. I mean you pay for it but was a treat for my birthday.

Coventry (A) - January 17th 12:30pm - Pre Match Thread

Could we not close the thread for a little bit and let us enjoy the victory without the reminder this is coming up please! -
More positives to take than today then negatives. Only downside seems to be a dull second half (but let’s be honest we were in control and kept an important clean sheet) and Ayew over Evans. Struggling to see the logic in that one personally but I’m sure he had his reasons.
-
Thought he was MotM today and pretty consistently looked a class above. As he should you could argue but it’s not always that easy. Think him, JJ and Page could make a really balanced midfield 3.
-
Clearly a talented footballer but not quite convinced he’ll end up as a #10. Wonder if it’s a case of playing him there as there’s a little less pressure in the role and any mistakes (he inevitably makes at his age) are less likely to be punished.
