I think that's essentially the defense the club has against this. Extenuating, unexpected circumstances, if you will. Kind of makes Ranieri's refrain of "we need to get to 40 points first" in our title-winning season just a mantra for all non-top-six clubs to live by now. In any other business, surely heads would roll for this. Yes, relegation has impacted us horrendously, but a) if they really cared about "sporting performance" as the justification for keeping this strategy going, Rodgers should have been gone significantly earlier than he was to prevent relegation and b) the wages dished out are shocking. As a minimum, Rudkin and Whelan have to go. The only reason I am slightly hesitant about Top is that I just think he has been a complete fool and doesn't know what he's really doing. If his father is one of our own, so is his son. But that should not excuse accountability. He needs to hold his hands up, and make changes.

This...this looks catastrophic. How on earth are we going to recover from relegation if we have to sell our best players (with clubs knowing we need to sell by 30th June) whether we get promoted, or not? Either way, next season we are likely to have a weaker squad, and no way to replace those important players. What the **** have you done, Top, Whelan and Rudkin? And how dare you put out a statement minimising how much damage it seems you've done to our club?

I think that's a key difference between our luck against 10, and Ipswich's: Against us, a team would just sit back, no question. Against Ipswich, there's still this belief they can be beaten, or aren't so good they'll demolish you. Then they suckerpunch. It's very us '15/16. Even this close to the end of the season, teams don't give Ipswich enough respect. And they punish them for that.

Inverted full back only works with Ricardo in that role. Even then, it can be dodgy as we lack pace in our backline. Regardless, we're not winning this one. Norwich are absolutely flying.
