Guest kristianity77 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 50 50 for me as well. I've dropped back from quite good on the last vote. My quite good vote was based more on thinking other teams would get worse results rather than what we would get. With everyone picking up max points more or less it keeps the pressure on us. And we cant realistically keep winning between now and the end I don't feel.
Callabinho Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Only one side gets out and pulls away. We've got out and this time next week could, COULD be 4 points clear. Win next week and we will go from treading water to having one leg on the side. It will drag other teams into the dog fight and pull us out, it will only be the maths that need confirming then.

Spiritwalker Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Before this weekend I said 37 now I think it will be 38. Villa look strong so it's Sunderland,Hull,Newcastle and us. We just need to keep playing attacking football and hold our nerve, at least one of those teams will not get 38pts.
Zapp Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I've been 50/50 since these polls started. We are doing our job but others around us are getting their acts together too. 1 bad performance, 1 little mistake, it all changes Until we are above relegation (or 3 points clear of Sunderland) after our penultimate game, anything could happen.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Sunderland have got four points from the last two games but didn't look brilliant in either. They scored early doors and were then backs to the wall for the rest of the game against Stoke, followed by two penalties against ten man Southampton. Mane's goal for So'ton showed Sunderland still have the capacity to be utterly shambolic at the back. They travel to an Everton side who've won four of their last six and brutalised Manchester United last time out at Goodison. The top four form sides in the PL (Arsenal, Chelsea, ourselves and Everton) form their remaining fixtures, so I'd much rather have our run-in than theirs. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2014-2015/form-table Hull will be playing an Arsenal side who will want to secure themselves a group stage CL place rather than go through the play-offs and also take in a trip to White Hart Lane and the visit of Manchester United on the final day. Their game against Burnley is as big as ours against Sunderland on that basis. Newcastle look so shambolic you have to wonder where their next point is coming from. West Brom are a tough cookie and will be buzzing after winning at Old Trafford, QPR can hurt you at Loftus Road and Sam Allardyce would probably relish the opportunity to send Newcastle down at St James' on the last day after the way he was treated there. I think we can rule Villa out of it, so that makes the battle between Sunderland, ourselves, Hull and Newcastle. It'd be the act of a pessimist to have us as favourites in this company, surely? Especially with 5 wins from our last 6.
LanguedocFox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 This is gospel truth, but I have never been less than "quite good" (well, maybe I wavered a bit after the Palace and Hull games) but since we played Spurs I've been 100%. We really do have a good solid team, with pace and a lot of skill: and over the past three or four games, our defence has been almost always been rock-solid. If you look at what Hull and Sunderland have got in their run-ins, compared with ours, not to mention the momentum we have, we must be able to get the points we need. Burnley and QPR could well be relegated next weekend, and if they are, we will be safe. We will know Sunderland's result by the time we play Southampton, but even if we lose that match (and I think we will win), Sunderland have to play us, and then their last two matches are against Arsenal and Chelski away, FFS. Hull have got Arsenal then Burnley at home(and you can bet Dyche will have them fired up for that) then Spurs away, with Man U on the last day of the season. Between Hull and Sunderland for the last place - 100%.
Dawko Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Great chance of staying up. We only need 1 point more than Newcastle get in their last 3 games and they'll then go below us.
ithuriel Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Did not realise Sunderland now play the four most in form teams in the league and yet you look at Newcastle and they just cant find a win.

Between Hull and Sunderland for the last place - 100%. If Hull get smashed tomorrow night, perfectly possible if Arsenal turn up, it means they're right in the shit due to GD. You'd have to say that of the last three games for us, any possible losses are more likely to be by the odd goal rather than a pasting whereas Hull could get slaughtered at Tottenham and at home to Man Utd if either team can be arsed. Let's take a fairly realistic, albeit optimistic, scenario for us. Hull 0-2 Arsenal - Hull go below us on GD. Everton then beat Sunderland. Hull and Burnley cancel each other out in a draw. That'd mean the table, even before our game against Southampton, would look like this. 16 - Hull (35 pts and -15 GD) 17 - Leicester (34 pts and -15 GD) 18 - Sunderland (33 pts - -23 GD, based on 1-0 defeat) 19 - QPR (27 pts - 22 GD) R 20 - Burnley (27 pts and -27 GD) Any kind of result for us at that point would mean that even defeat against Sunderland wouldn't necessarily have us in the bottom three on the final day, due to Hull having a very difficult fixture at Tottenham. Moreover, with QPR going on what would likely be a fruitless trip to the Etihad the day after these fixtures, we'd be playing an already doomed team on the final day in front of our own fans. All of this is without factoring in Newcastle, who'd go down to 17th themselves with defeat at home to WBA due to their goal difference, only Burnley's is worse after yesterday, which would really shake things up. I think that, unless we do something really stupid now, we might be around about the favourites to survive of those four teams.
Cunningfox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 We have the winning habit.. I honestly think we can muster another two wins and finish on at least 40 points. We will be fine. I'd rather those two wins come before QPR though. Sunderland are of course a worry because of our relative positions and the fact we have to go there but seriously they will be crapping themselves at the thought of having to play us. I don't know where this belief has come from but we are on fire.. We are that good at the mo nobody will fancy playing Leicester and we have every reason to be confident. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if we win all three and finish on 43pts.
Livid Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Still 50/50 and I doubt my position will change until after the Sunderland game at least. The problem I see is that so many teams have so little to play for. The teams at the bottom are digging in, I believe Newcastle will actually wake up at some point, a lot of others are on the beach. Summer holiday versus making that 50/50 tackle in a game which decides wether you finish 8th or 9th, risk knackering your knee and jeopardising that £50k a week contract. Professional footballers are a mercenary bunch. I honestly couldn't definitely predict any result involving a relegation candidate.
ealingfox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 If WE managed 2 goals from set-pieces against Newcastle surely a Tony Pulis side could run up a cricket score?
simoncccccc Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 This post is addressed to people voting 50 / 50. I believe we will stay up. If any of you are gamblers I will offer a wager of my £50 against your £40. Any takers?
mundella boy Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 WE WILL STAY UP . WITH OUR ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK FOOTBALL [PARTICUALY FROM THE GET GO] OTHER TEAMS ARE NOW WARY OF US. TOP FANS TOP TEAM

dannythefox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I think one win will keep us up I just don't want to have to get it on the last day, can't see Newcastle getting another win and defo not two draws. Need arsenal to spank hull tomorrow night

Dawko Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 How many points will Newcastle get in their last 3 games ? If we get 1 more point than them in our last 3 games then we stay up it's as simple as that. So what is all this worrying about?
Guy Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 There are soooo many permutations as we head towards this unbelievable end of season climax but an "everyman" would perhaps say it is pretty simple really. Given Newcastle's recent shambolic form and well documented, clearly visible lack of passion then you would have to say it's more between us and them as to who buys it and who avoids the last relegation spot now. With their bitter NE rivals having just fortuitously scraped together 4 points out of 6, then although unconvincing, you feel from past experience as if the Mackems' luck has now changed. it really does point more towards us battling it out with Newcastle than Sunderland I feel....while that's on the premise that Burnley and QPR have all but gone now also! We'll definitely know more by this time next week now though - as right now it's a real guessing game and I'm sure most feel! Still "quite good" for me re survival chances and I hope that doesn't jinx it!
suffolk fox Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 It's still 50/50. Points total to stay up is going to be nearer to 40 unfortunately. There are five teams in contention for one last place. Key will be the Sunderland game plus we have to beat Qpr and Southampton too.
Number 6 Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 I'm probably 50:50 but would go to quite good with a comfortable Arsenal win tonight. Picture will be clearer after Saturday I think.
ADK Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 I put near 100% which is probably a bit cocky, but I'd be amazed if we didn't from an unbiased perspective. I'd make us favourites in all 3 remaining games and another 3 points should be enough (although it might not).
6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 A lot of peoples mood will be dictated by Sunderlands early kick off on Saturday. If they lose, what a chance if we beat Saints, of course if they win, pressure!! Be great if arsenal could win by 2 tonight so we move up a spot.
