Renart Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 With a win and a loss since the last poll what are our thoughts now? Burnley and QPR have lost ground and we have certainly dragged some more teams into it, but with Sunderland (and Villa) winning it feels even more like we are in a precarious position. With four wins out of five I expected to be feeling more confident, but.... The game against Sunderland seems ever more important. How are we all feeling? Confidence from week-to-week has been growing, as indicated by the previous polls (see below), but will it continue to grow with this one? You know what to do: vote and say if and why your opinion has changed or stayed the same.
lgfualol Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 If Sunderland lost I would have been a lot more confident. Still 50/50 I'm afraid.
The Doctor Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I'd be more confident if Sunderland had lost, but Hull have poor records against Burnley and Arsenal and Newcastle don't look like getting another point, so there's a lot more teams in it, meaning a bit more room for error, because we only have to finish ahead of 1 side out of 4 now rather than ahead of Sunderland.
Mark_w Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I've dropped back to 50/50, didn't see this coming from Sunderland and Hull.
Leicester Lass Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 50/50 for me as well. For us to have put this run together and still only be 1 point above safety is madness. So much resting on that Sunderland game.
weller54 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 By 5pm next Saturday I think we'll be feeling happier... Sunderland MAY sneak a point at Everton (but unlikely)... Confident we'll beat Southampton... Newcastle will lose against WBA....Hull and Burnley will be a draw.... But Villa will be safe after beating West Ham...
ousefox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I've dropped back down to 50/50 too. Literally think anything could happen now. The Sunderland game is huge and can't see us getting a win vs Southampton. Hopefully Arsenal demolish Hull tomorrow so there have been at least two good results this weekend and I can celebrate by having the Ostrich burger I've had in my freezer for months.
ealingfox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I've gone pretty slim because I can't see us winning the Sunderland game.
bluesbrothers Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I'm back down to 50-50. Yesterday was a massive 3 points, let's make no mistake. Regardless of the shiteness of our opponents, the fact that Sunderland and Villa both won has made things very tight. We're going to really have to hold our nerve. As long as we don't lose against Sunderland, I reckon we'll do it now, but anything could happen. I still think QPR will be gone when we play them, so a result there may not be as vital. The upside potential scenario is that Hull lose by 2 clear goals or more tomorrow, in which case we'll catch them on GD and officially drag them back into it..
AyewJoking Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 still suite good but im praying for Everton to beat Sunderland and us to beat Southampton on Saturday.
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just can't step away from 50/50. On the border of the one up though.
Haydos Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Again, quite good. We have a more generous fixture list and we have momentum. If I was in Sunderland's position I would say 50/50. If they win at Everton I'd bump it up to quite good. It's got to the point where every result of every team matters.
Stan Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just think about this. Would you not fancy us to get just one more point than Newcastle given our respective form?? If we do that, we're safe, regardless of other results
weller54 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just think about this. Would you not fancy us to get just one more point than Newcastle given our respective form?? If we do that, we're safe, regardless of other results If they lose at home to wba next Saturday... They're gone!!!!
MooseBreath Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just think about this. Would you not fancy us to get just one more point than Newcastle given our respective form?? If we do that, we're safe, regardless of other results Newcastle might sack their manager and get a bounce from that. They might get a bounce from the realisation that they're now properly involved in the scrap. It's so close that our chances are probably bang on one in four along with Sunderland, Hull and Newcastle. I suppose that makes a chances quite good, but I voted 50/50 because I'm always a pessimist with regards to our club.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 If Sunderland lost I would have been a lot more confident. Still 50/50 I'm afraid. Exactly this.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 50/50 for me as well. For us to have put this run together and still only be 1 point above safety is madness. So much resting on that Sunderland game. Yeh, it's worrying that we could still go down given our great run. Just shows that the Chelsea game wasn't a 'free game' by any stretch. Forest and Derby fans will love it if we end up relegated given our recent surge of hope. We HAVE to beat Sunderland and also not lose to Southampton
weller54 Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I've gone pretty slim because I can't see us winning the Sunderland game. Why?
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I'm still on "quite good", despite Villa, Sunderland and West Brom winning yesterday. I think unless we get a shocking referee or a bunch of fresh injuries, we should beat Sunderland. They're going for it, but can't score from open play and we are making far fewer defensive errors than we did earlier in the season. QPR (if it goes to the wire) will be a challenge - they'll be down by then and be playing without any pressure, could be a potentially devastating banana skin. If Hull get trounced by Arsenal (which would be ideal) then I think they'll really struggle in their last games Overall though with 5 teams in it and us playing as we are, I'm not too concerned. We are a different animal from before
Spudulike Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I hope those misses by Albrighton and Vardy don't come back to haunt us.
ithuriel Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 We are outside the relegation zone for three games now and have momentum, I cant see us wining all our remaining games but then neither can I see the others around us doing the same. Just have to wait and see how things go.
J.Lisemore Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Its all very 50/50. With Sunderland winning a game I thought they'd never win, anything can happen.
