st albans fox Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 Think we will better Southampton's victory over these last year and put 9 past them. I have watched 2 of their last 3 games and have no idea how they are premier league. Yes it's a small sample of games but they were just poor and lucky. If we lose this game I will record myself eating my own faeces and will post it in this thread. Ben, I have to admit that your prediction of 9 wins from our last 9 games has come a lot closer to verification than anyone could have imagined. However, you really are stretching it well beyond the realms of reality now. And no one on here will want to see you carry out your forfeit.

Ben I also think we'll win and for your sake I hope so Though tbh I've seen some shit on FT but this could cap it all!
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 I rarely bother glancing at other teams forums, I do hope nobody on here goes on to other teams forums and makes a complete plum of themselves, so unbecoming.

Ha - that's a brave statement against a club that has taken 10 points out of a possible 15, you must be extremely confident! You get a win however you need to get a win when your down the bottom. We're not blessed with any pace and much less flair, but when it really matters we will give as much as we can in terms of effort to get the points. April 15th last season, we were bottom of the league, 7 points adrift, with our 3 remaining away games at Man City, Chelsea and Man United. We took 7 points out of those somehow and stayed up. As poor as we can be, I wouldn't rule out us getting points away to Chelsea or Arsenal in our last two games. I expect you to win on Saturday, but don't be surprised if you don't. Perhaps we'll drag you down to 'our level'. It will be interesting to see both teams fighting for every second ball, Sunderland will harry and chase down everything to make up for our lack of quality and pace. It's not great watching but can be effective. Our two biggest weaknesses are pace and confidence. You have the first, and if you score early doors, then it could be as I fear a 3 or 4 goal reverse for our boys, as once our heads are down we collapse, as proven at Southampton, Villa, Crystal Palace and possibly even QPR. If you don't score early, or if Sunderland get the first goal, I'd fancy us to protect that with every man behind the ball giving everything for the cause. Best of luck anyway, but I hope come Sunday you're eating sh!t
Benguin Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 If predicting that Sunderland won't beat us is chatting sh!t then I'm only putting the crap back where it came from!
Vacamion Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 If we lose this game I will record myself eating my own faeces and will post it in this thread. At my university rugby club, a guy made an "I'll eat my own sh1t" bet and lost. How we laughed as he sprayed sick around after the first teaspoon... Thank you for giving us a small consolation if (heaven forfend) city lose.

red-white Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 If you lot stay up, how do you think the team will do next season?

Guest Col city fan Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 I'd eat Rachels!!!.. Win, lose or draw! Are you really advocating the eating of human excrement?

EnglishOxide Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 If you lot stay up, how do you think the team will do next season? I genuinely think we can crack top 10. I expected us to flirt with relegation this season but I think we were hard done by to have been rooted to the bottom for so long. We had been hard done by in terms of luck and refereeing decisions (i know a lot of teams fans will make excuses for their team like this but its genuinely the case! Liverpool away is just one example). Of course that's not purely the reason, management and players had to learn on the job and adapt to the clinical counter attacking nature of the league. Being the only team alongside Chelsea and Man City to not lose by more than 2 goals this season tells its own story.

Top 10 is a bit optimistic If we stay up then i think we will improve on this season and finish comfortably above the drop zone in say 13th place. I cant see Bournemouth and Watford staying up so i hope that relegation places will be taken up by the teams coming from the Championship for the next few seasons which allows us to establish ourselves.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Top 10 is a bit optimistic I don't think it's out of the question at all Let's say we realistically get 4 points from the next two games - that's 41 points. Points for 10th place: 2013/14: 49 2012/13: 46 2011/12: 47 2010/11: 47 Now this squad knows what they're capable of, if we stay up and build on the squad in Summer I think we'd easily achieve more than this season. Little mistakes cost us a fair few points earlier in the season, there's a few games we could easily have won if we had our current defence

Your going off getting an imaginary 4 points from our last 2 games. Lets get the points first see where we end up this season before coming out with predictions like that. Were not even safe yet. Lets establish ourselves first. Even if we stay up i still dont have us as an established Prem team. Lets get 2-3 seasons under our belt before we even think of breaking top 10.
HitchinFox Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I love us. As fans, I mean. We beat Man U and all the talk is of strengthening the squad enough for a Europa League campaign next season. By February everybody is suicidal and we're bandying around names we can pick from League One who can "do a job in the Championship". Then we go on a run and now we're in Champions League form again. Don't get me wrong – that describes me completely and I'm definitely one of the emotional yo-yos too. I love it. I pity fans of other teams – we never, ever have a dull moment.

No I wouldn't see us as an established Premier League team until we've had 3 seasons here either, can't see any harm in aiming for top half finishes though. Just aiming for survival puts you with the ambitionless clubs like Newcastle and Villa

Just aiming for survival puts you with the ambitionless clubs like Newcastle and Villa Absolutely no harm at all. what i fear for is alot of fans next season if we get off to a bad start turning on the players and manager quickly because they have the assumption that because we have been on a great run that it will continue and next season we break top 10. Aslong as people have aspirations but still accept the fact that we could be in another relegation scrap and get behind the team regardless then its all good
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 See what you mean. Some people will definitely up their expectations of us because of this run, and be mightily disappointed when we lose 2 in a row next season
Lasty Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 Let's stay up this season first. IF we manage it, then I'd just be happy to avoid relegation again next year. Second Season Syndrome is a difficult thing to beat and should not be underestimated. Wouldn't mind us slotting in the 11th-15th area for the duration of the season though, as being rooted to the bottom for so long was really soul-sapping and not very much fun at all. Don't fancy that again.
