Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 June 2015 Author Posted 6 June 2015 I've set up a Facebook page for it at http://www.facebook.com/TheGreatestEscapeLCFC
mugshot Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Yeah, good idea. Have used Issuu before and it worked well. Will have a look into it for this if I can get some pictures to use. You should go to Createspace and self publish then it will get on amazon and you could make a couple of quid selling it
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 June 2015 Author Posted 6 June 2015 You should go to Createspace and self publish then it will get on amazon and you could make a couple of quid selling it Cheers will take a look at that too. I'm not interested in making any money from it personally but it would be good to set up some sort of voluntary donation towards Union FS for another tifo.
Raj Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Fez you cvnt..I've got loads to do today and I've started reading it and I wanna carry on its pretty good....cock
Stevie Synex Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 First book I have read in years but what a fantastic peice of work you have written and you should be very proud of it. I hope you got to as many of those games as you possibly could the way you have written it suggests you did. February was a particuarly dark place for many of us but having read the book and recollected the moments it was clearly all worth while. I've downloaded the PDF and sent it to a couple of pals of mine and highly recommended it. Once again well done - a great effort.
Strokes Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 I'm going to save it until I'm on holiday, sounds excellent.
Ron Combo Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 That really is very well written. Gripping, even 'though we know how things worked out. Well bloody done!
Woof Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 I've been lurking on this forum for years. One of the reasons I decided it was about time I joined was to add my appreciation on this thread. Congratulations Fez on this superb account of "The Great Escape". I think it is extremely well written and full of insight and interest and it certainly brings back many of the emotions I went through watching this incredible sequence of games! Thank you so much for the effort you put into writing this and I look forward to your next piece
Bramhall Fox Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Absolutely loved it - thank you. Brilliantly written and stirred up all the emotions again - fantastic.
TheSomersetFox Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Just finished after 2 hours of reading. loved it. favorite part has to be the bit about nige coming over to us at the end of the Burnley game; "this is a moment to savour for both the man who has led his team to victory and those who travelled to witness it" yeeeee
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 June 2015 Author Posted 8 June 2015 Thanks for the nice comments, means a lot. Just about to start working on a new version of it in InDesign for publication through Issuu. Considering adding the as-it-stands league table at the end of each game, will probably help to add context. If anyone has any photos from the games covered that they'd be happy to be used then drop me a PM. I'll credit any photos used obviously. Cheers
ScouseFox Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 can you just put a pic of cambiasso's face after each game for context too please. like upset esteban, overjoyed esteban, "we'vegotajobtodo" esteban, "everybodycalmdown" esteban, emotional esteban etc etc.

Dan Posted 10 June 2015 Posted 10 June 2015 Can't recommend this enough. Sums up my thoughts perfectly.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 June 2015 Author Posted 14 June 2015 Could do with some photos from all home games from West Ham onwards if anyone has any they can contribute? Will include a credit.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 June 2015 Author Posted 14 June 2015 Do eBooks expire, after something is released? This one doesn't.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 October 2015 Author Posted 29 October 2015 Quick note to say that I'm also writing a match-by-match diary of this season as it happens. Just passed 10,000 words and lots of gaps to fill in too so should be looking at trying to publish a full-length book by next summer. Plenty of time to work out how that will happen... This feels like a great opportunity to record a remarkable time for the club from a fan's perspective for other fans to enjoy. Here's a snippet from last Saturday's entry: --- Jamie Vardy stands in the corner of the King Power Stadium and counts his fingers. One. Two. Three. It's difficult to count when Danny Drinkwater is jumping on your back. Four. Five. Six. It's noisy too. The noisiest it will be anywhere in the city of Leicester throughout the month of October. Seven. Eight. Nine. Running out of fingers. Ten. Ten Premier League goals in ten games and Jamie Vardy is the match-winner for Leicester City yet again. Not only that, but it's another brilliant goal. The giant Norwegian centre-back Brede Hangeland helped Crystal Palace to a 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium last season with a succession of towering headers to thwart increasingly desperate long-ball football from City. This time he's largely responsible for his side's 1-0 defeat. That said, there is still plenty to do even after Hangeland miscontrols close to the halfway line. The ball bounces loose to Riyad Mahrez, restored to the starting lineup after two games. Mahrez could take a touch but instead he opts to play the ball first time on the volley, a difficult skill given the wet turf that has seen most of the afternoon's through balls scoot past their intended target. If anyone can do it, Mahrez can. It's a perfectly weighted pass and Vardy is already on the half-turn. Hangeland is taken out of the equation and his central defensive partner Scott Dann is left to deal with the Premier League's top scorer racing towards Wayne Hennessey in the Palace goal. Hennessey hares out but can only watch as Vardy delicately lifts the ball over him. Now all Vardy has to do is get to the ball before Dann. Given that only one defender, Arsenal's Hector Bellerin, has matched City's front man for pace all season, not even the Palace fans are backing Dann to win this race. Vardy gets there first and smashes the ball high into the roof of the empty net.
MC Prussian Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 This is now available on Issuu: http://issuu.com/thegreatestescape/docs/the_greatest_escape_-_ebook_v10_pdf Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/TheGreatestEscapeLCFC I did wonder what happened to the Union FS version - was it moved or completely moved from from the page? Because the initial link wouldn't work any longer... Thanks for the new links - great read, as always.
Aussie Fox 1969 Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 http://www.unionfs.co.uk/the-greatest-escape.html This is a good read. Looking forward to the book for the 2015-16 season.
Vlad the Fox Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 You've got to laugh at the hull mail sports reporter
