The Doctor Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Yeah, got pretty much the same stats (or better) as Hazard this year despite having a "bad" season, scored the decisive goal in last year's champions league final, scored the winner and was MOTM in last year's Copa Del Rey final and is single handedly carrying his country through qualifying for the Euros. You're right, over rated as hell. you muppet, try harder. Yeah but could he do it on a cold tuesday night in Stoke?
Finnegan Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 ... Why is there an advert on this page for freshwater Beluga caviar?!
ScouseFox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Like Ronaldo? Yeah or Suarez or Costa. Then he'd be considered a great.
Bert Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Knew the Welsh fans would start trying to give it licks because they're having a decent campaign. Fair play to them, it's been very impressive. But let's not run before you can walk eh lads. We've played in more major tournaments this decade than you've ever qualified for
Finnegan Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Who else is a Welsh fan and when have I ever said we're anything other than the best team in the world, Bert?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Reading back a few pages this thread is turning into a Hodgson in/Hodgson out debate. Reminds me of a few months ago when it was Pearson in/Pearson out, a change of manager isn't going to suddenly make us world beaters. It's also a lot harder to manage international sides as you are not with them week in week out, imo Hodgson has built a solid platform, we are unbeaten, who cares how we win. If Leicester did what England are doing none of you would be moaning about "boring football". It's the longest unbeaten run since 1996, give them a bit of credit. Yeh same here. I'm a big fan of Woy, and wasn't particularly disappointed with some of the football played in Brazil last year. We've played a lot worse stuff and have gone to the knockout stages in previous tournys. Played some nice stuff last year and didn't get what we deserved. I have issue with him sticking with you know who at times but unfortunately if we played poorly without him the media and some fans would be calling for his head when the chances are Rooney would have done little to alter the game. Whoever would be brought in to replace Roy would have very little effect on us as we'd still play the same players who've massively underachieved for us for years. We've got rid of some of the deadwood now due to retirements etc and I just wish someone would have the minerals to finish the cull. Loosen the shackles on thw rest of the side who continually look to play through one man.
Bert Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Who else is a Welsh fan and when have I ever said we're anything other than the best team in the world, Bert? Not just on here man, social media too Innit.
Finnegan Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Ah yeah, my Facebook feed has filled up with people that had stopped following the national side for years and are normally rugby fans. I don't mind though really, anything that fills the ground. It wasn't all that long ago we used to fill the millennium stadium. Glory supporters or not, I'd love to see us get there again. Don't want us to move back unless we can get at least 65k in there, though, which won't happen unless the faw start price slashing.

Seems a huge shame to have such a great stadium so rarely used. Can't imagine Swansea fans are that happy about having to watch their national team at Cardiff's ground either. Did I read the FAW have been putting on free coaches from North Wales to get people from Wrexham etc down to games, or have I dreamt that? England should consider something similar for night games at Wembley really.

It's great for the Welsh and you'll not find me saying that it's undeserved - quite clearly isn't as I think it's a really tough group you've got, but it makes me chuckle it really does. Like yourself I'll always stick with my national team regardless of how well we do its just in my nature. But some people don't half love jumping on the bandwagon.Granted with Wales it's exciting for a huge generation of people for obvious reasons, whereas England it's the same old every year.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Records like unbeaten runs are irrelevant in international football. Friendlies are important but results in them shouldn't be considered significant in statistical terms. The only thing that should matter when it comes to judging a side of England's calibre and resources is tournament results. By that measure, Hodgson should not have kept his job after the world cup. Inept doesn't begin to cover it. Bale's right foot > the entire England team. Shame about the rest of the Welsh team. To be honest I cant name any of them off the top of my head. Bound to be an Evans I suppose. That Evans is crap.

RonnieTodger Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Lineker did it in 80 games its taken Rooney 105 and 2 hair transplants. Didn't get to play against a San Marino or Andorra twice a campaign either.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Never heard of Andy King, then? or that Aaron Ramsey lad?
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 or that Aaron Ramsey lad? Yeah, someone called Tom Lawrence is in their squad as well, whoever he is. Don't get the hate (partially trolling, clearly) for Wales myself, would be great to come up against them at the Euros, or any of the home nations for that matter. Whoever qualifies is there on merit, no doubt.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Wales is so irrelevant I had even forgotten about Andy King! I think it is because he if from Berkshire I cannot think of him being Welsh. At least that Bale lad is actually from Wales, else he would have been another Giggs.
