I think in our position, gradual progression is a realistic target.

A struggle most of the season, so a more consistent, and comfortable survival is the first realistic target, then if things go well, any improvement on 14 th will be a good season.

I've not read the article yet, but Pearson's also said that his realistic aim for next season would be a top 10 finish in an interview somebody posted on here from YouTube.

Blimey there's a few intriguing revelations in that article.

1) Want to sign Asian players (Okazaki cough.)

2) Seeking permission to increase stadium to 42,000 seats.

3) Always backed Nigel (yeah right lol

It also says though that striker's not a priority at the moment

2) I had heard they were looking to increase the stadium size, but didnt realise it would be 10k, I imagine the plan will be to see how the second season pans out and if we do well to establish ourselves in the prem then it will be right to do....also lends to gaining agreement for concerts etc too.

If it's anywhere near true, it reinforces my feeling of pride/relief in the owners we have. Love the idea of a 42K stadium, but I'd have thought in maybe three years' time, if we stay up?

Certainly we can claim to be the biggest club in the East Midlands this century and increasing capacity by 10k is a logical way to go. Cannot see the point of 4 or 5 k increase so a capacity of 42k makes a statement to others. Would have thought the atmosphere towards the end of last season was a big factor for us and just think what an increased capacity of 30% plus can do, also with the extra tv income it could give the club an opportunity to reduce prices at some games so that fans who cannot afford to see all the games get to see some.

I've thought that as well. I suspect that some owners will think "Fvck it, more money for me" but I have a feeling that Vichai and Top will take a longer and broader view. Cheaper season tickets, kids for a quid and parents for a tenner, for example, is going to build a fan-base for the future: and once people on the outskirts of our market/catchment area find out that we have decent owners and a good atmosphere, we are going to become the team to support around here. It makes good business sense for King Power in the medium/long-term

Lets be honest the 5-3 win over Utd did more for King Power in terms of prestige, status and financial revenue in Asia than the seasons gate receipts in total and agreed Languedocfox are owners are literally Top.

I think we could do with a stadium expansion but I'd like to see us become an established PL club. We have only filled the stadium this season because we are in the PL. It won't pay any dividends if we are relegated next season and attendances drop to 22/23k.

An extra 10,000 seats for all the Asian supporters flying in to watch our new Korean and Japanese stars.

I bet the guys selling the half-and-half scarves are rubbing their hands together in delight at the prospect.

Interesting read, I for one think we are in safe hands with our owners.

Make that two.

I genuinely think that the border of Leicestershire on the A47 up to Peterborough, I suppose Rutland really, is untapped with regards to areas for increasing the potential fanbase. Sure maybe there will be the odd few supporting us from Peterborough

The more Coventry decline, the more we'll pick up from places like Hinckley, Lutterworth and Nuneaton. Northamptonshire could also be a huge untapped resource as well given there's no massive club there, as could South Lincolnshire for the same reason.

A Leicester City with a few successful years behind it could be a huge draw.

Good points made Bilo

I really think it is great to hear we are considering increasingly the capacity, only way to sustain growth over this next period of time if all goes to plan

Top ten is a reasonable aim given how we finished the season but it will take very effective use of the transfer market to get there. Hope Vichai has his cheque book ready.

It's a good point actually that there is no-one at all of significance between us and London.

Hinckley is lcfc dominant and being close to the county border we have a deep hatred for cov scum here so there decline wouldn't have much influence on our support.

Would gain more for the plastic top 6 fans I would of thought.

It's frightening to think what we could become if we have a few successful years in this division.

The TV money is going to sky rocket, we're already well backed by the owners, selling out a 32,000 capacity stadium every week and considering expansion and are the only Premier League team in the East Midlands -  a region comprising of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbsyhire, Rutland, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire. That's around 4.5m people, and we're not even onto Warwickshire and Cambridgeshire yet.

Clearly, Leicester City are going to be a much harder sell in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, but the county of Leicestershire and the surrounding areas of Lincolnshire, Northants and Cambridgeshire are huge potential markets for us. There's also the fact that we're already a pretty large city to have only the one club in it, especially a Premier League club. We'll convert a few glory hunters with a few successful seasons, that's for sure.

Many say that West Ham are a massive club in waiting because they have most of Essex backing them, but we could match them with a few successful years. It just makes it so crucial that we stay in this division - we've an awful lot of potential, now perhaps more than at any other point in our recent history given the parlous state of our neighbours, and it'd be heartbreaking to see us squander it.
