Suffolk exile Posted 25 June 2015 Author Posted 25 June 2015 I'm not surprised he has divided opinion - he did in his playing days. BUT - he loved the club and has provided me with some of the most sacred memories as a Leicester supporter. The play off against Derby, I shall never forget.
hairy Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Did he shag your mrs or something? He tried to with mine!
pleatout Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Just for the record 1986-1987 Played 21 Scored 0 goals (Division 1) 1987-1988 Played 32 Scored 7 goals (Division 2) 1988-1989 Played 30 Scored 2 goals (Division 2) . 1989-1990 Played 34 Scored 3 goals (Division 2) 1990-1991 Played 35 Scored 3 goals (Division 2) 1991-1992 Played 43 Scored 7 goals (Division 2) 1992-1993 Played 40 Scored 15 goals (Division 1) 1993-1994 Played 10 Scored 4 goals (Division 1) 1994-1995 Played 5 Scored 0 goals (Premiership) 1995-1996 Played 37 Scored 4 goals (Division 1) 1996-1997 Played 22 Scored 2 goals (Premiership) 1997-1998 Played 26 Scored 3 goals (Premiership) 1998-1999 Played 22 Scored 3 goals (Premiership) . 1999-2000 Played 11 Scored 0 goals (Premiership) 2000-2001 Played 0 Scored 0 goals (Premiership) If you look at the premiership seasons and bear in mind that players like Arphexad (99/00), Prior (96/97 & 97/98) and Ullathorne made more appearances in each of those seasons it does go to show that he was a squad player at best. No, not trolling. No, he didnt shag my wife. It's just that I was there, traveled thousands of miles to watch him "perform".

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 which one? Both in fairness Wise for me is the most despicable player in our history and Tater Peeler ruined the club
SystonFox Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Like Steve Walsh as a player / club hero whatever you wanna call. Dislike him as a media whore / twitter whore / half time entertainment whore etc. no need for it
Freesolo Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 I think calling him Leicester's most Iconic player is a bit of a stretch, he was just your average defender who could play up front and bang a few goals too. But because of his style of play, being sent of a record number of times, and being known as a hardman he is loved by Leicester and seemed to love Leicester back.In terms of skill and performance he was nowhere near Leicester's greatest players, I mean Matty Elliott was miles better than him, can remember watching Elliott play his first game he was huge but could take the ball off someone, bring it out then pass the ball 40 yards to feet, never a player to just hoof it up the field like most average defenders
pleatout Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Incidentally, 14 years ago today we signed this C-unit... Now that, I have no issues with. Total bell end.
Suffolk exile Posted 25 June 2015 Author Posted 25 June 2015 Incidentally, 14 years ago today we signed this C-unit... Bloody hell! I cannot find the right words here................as I am not sure the right words to describe these 3, have been invented yet........bad times, bad times.....

Vlad the Fox Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 He'd also been through it all with the fans, from when Hamilton signed him, through the dull dour pleat years to O'Neill and success.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 June 2015 Posted 26 June 2015 Incidentally, 14 years ago today we signed this C-unit... Boss eyed fvck knuckle.
johnny the fox Posted 26 June 2015 Posted 26 June 2015 Steve Walsh is and always be in the DNA of this club.... its a two way thing..
katieakita Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Was Walshy one of the best to play for the club for me no. Was he a guy who gave 100% yes, did he make mistakes yes. Filbert street used to be about an 180 mile round trip normally on my own in often an old car or a scooter often costing more money than I really could afford to spend. Hundreds of times I came back vowing never to go again only to turn up for the next match. For most of his time here we were a poor side, often he was suspended and often injured battling back time and time again to play for us. At times we were utter shite, many a game you just wished they at least looked like they were trying, if I wanted to support a team that won every game I wouldn't have supported Leicester that is what the Tigers were for. Walshy was a whole hearted professional who did his best fondly remembered by many so I personally wish the guy luck and even if you think he was crap look at some of those he played with!! For me a legend is someone who is remembered and he certainly is.
