Bluearmy 316 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I couldn't sleep last night I'm that angry. Still can't believe it. The owners need to get this appointment spot on. I just have that sinking feeling big sam will get the job
SpacedX Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 but right now I'd take Martin George, Tom Smeaton, Rodney Parker, John Elsom, Jon Holmes or Milan Mandaric in charge, and half of whatever budget we've got left, if it meant Pearson staying. Without question the most desperate, hysterical, irrational and deluded comment to emerge out of the last twelve hours...if not in the recent history of this forum.
midland_red Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Saying that you trust the owners is really not a good defence of this decision. The reality is that the club is in a very strong position right now and a lot of that is down to our (now previous) manager. We've made a good start to the summer transfer window and our current players appeared to be united and highly motivated under Pearson. All these thing lead me to think that the wrong decision has been made. We assess decisions by looking at the evidence available to us, not by absently saying 'I trust the owners'. This. You shouldnt trust anyone - always ask for the evidence. It IS possible that they have someone really good lined up - we will have to wait and see. It is also possible that they want someone more plaible, more PR conscious and generally less real.
st albans fox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 This is supposed to be a place of 'calm' The emmotional posts should go elsewhere !!
Socks Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 There was obviously something going on in the background we don't know about. They must of had a good reason. I will back the club fully and the new manager. I just hope some cretins don't start booing the owners next season. If retards p!ss them off and they leave we will be fooked...
shailen Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Seriously?.. Including his strange outbursts and Arrogant press conferences.. And perhaps backing his perverted Son?... Not sure he represented EVERYTHING in the best way?? Love him or hate him - he got results and transformed the club from league one to a PL team. That's what he should be judged on. Jose, Rafa, Fergie, LVG and other top managers have had their outbursts in a very similar way but because they have had more success on a continental scale, their outbursts are not as widely criticised. It's called mind games when they do it, but a lack of respect when Pearson does it. Fair enough, if he did get sacked for backing his son. Like I said, anyone who was involved or backed the event should be sacked. Clearly if this was the case, he should go. It's just a shame if that is the real reason, because James Pearson had no bearing of anything that has been good with Leicester City the past few seasons. Those three players could have done more damage to our club then it may first appear. NP should not have backed his son consequently though.
gerrytaggart Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 The owners want success as much as we do, it really is that simple.
midland_red Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 The owners want success as much as we do, it really is that simple. Absolutely correct....but....they may not know how to get it. The feeling (admittedly no evidence) is that they didn't have the kind of Plan B that might have brought in a new manager taking us to the next level.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I remember the Southampton fans going wild when Adkins went, protests and morons saying they won't ever go and watch again. They changed their tune when Pochettino moved them on a level. If the man they bring in leads us to say 9th/10th this year and a league cup win for instance, no one will be crying into their Dr Pepper then will they?

Absolutely not and I think, should that happen, that many fans will hold their hands up and say they were wrong. We all want the club to be successful.

I see your point and agree to a certain extent but it won't change my opinion that NP has been treated unfairly and disrespectfully.

I agree, if you see my other posts I don't think he should have gone, but without being privy to everything its hard to make a proper judgement. I can imagine there are easier people to work with than Big Nige

hackneyfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I see your point and agree to a certain extent but it won't change my opinion that NP has been treated unfairly and disrespectfully. If he expected his son to be treated differently to the other 3 then was upset with the owners when that didn't happen then there is nothing unfair or disrespectful about it.

hackneyfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 If true then of course not but so far I've not seen or heard anything that backs this upThey allude to a breakdown in relations. That makes it about his son or .......?
foxfanazer Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 They allude to a breakdown in relations. That makes it about his son or .......? His indiscretions last season. Maybe they sat him down and gave him a bollocking and he didn't take too kindly to it. What i mean is it's all speculation and nothing has been confirmed
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 They allude to a breakdown in relations. That makes it about his son or .......? How on earth do you come to the conclusion that it was about his son? Pearson was apparently unaware of any break down in relationship between the 2 parties
Cunningfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Personally I don't think the owners ever held Pearson in high regard. This is the third time they've got rid of him, once when they colluded with Mandaric to bring in Sousa, and once reinstated. I thank them for investing in the clubs future stability finacially but this decision is farcical and how they can say is acting in the best interest of the club is beyond me. keeping a manager who can get players to play with such pride and love for the club as Pearson did is surely acting in the best interests of the club.
indierich06 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 They allude to a breakdown in relations. That makes it about his son or .......? That makes it about nothing. It's a worthless, meaningless platitude that tells us precisely **** all.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 If Pearson was sacked because of the Thailand thing, why wasn't he fired immediately after it happened or even straight after the three players got the bullet? Something else is clearly at play here. From what I gather it came as a bolt from the blue to almost everyone in the club yesterday. Usually the media get wind of things in advance but not on this occasion. Pearson also gave the green light to the three signings who came in so the owners clearly backed his judgement as recently as late last week.

Is it just the standard no comment from the club as per usual? Do you think Nigel will release a statement or the LMA? Cheers

Do you think Nigel will release a statement or the LMA? Cheers I suspect we won;t hear anything from NP until compensation is sorted and even then there might not be much said. I don't think the owners will say much else because they don't say much publicly anyway.

Could it be they wanted the Okazaki deal sorted before they pulled the trigger or just had an emergency board meeting to discuss the recent events rather than knee jerking at the time? Who knows - does seem odd it was so out of the blue and without having lined up potential replacements.

Geoff, pearsons reaction to the sackings is unknown. if he was arguing the point that they were unjustified, then perhaps Top and vichai have continued to clash about his suitability as LCFC manager and Top has evenually had to give way.
