siCiteh Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 It's clear that many of us are angry and upset at this news. It smacks of the club's non-football management allowing personality, politics, or PR quibbles to get in the way of the interests of the team. So what are we waiting for - lets organise and let the owners know what we think. If all members and season ticket holders emailed the club and asked for a refund it would give then something to think about. The chairman might realise that Nigel is more important than his son or the CEO in protecting his investment - and a new senior team brought in. Unlikely, I know, but we ought to show the owners that they cannot take us for granted - and if we don't make a noise then what other unpopular decisions might they make? How could we organise this? Is email best or should we call? If you care, GET INVOLVED! New poster here btw - city fan of 20+ years and occassional visitor to FT over last couple of years.
foxfanazer Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Nah. As much as I'm bewildered and saddened by his sacking I think protesting could create a toxic atmosphere going into the new season. Nobody wants that and I'm sure NP wouldn't
Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I'm not wasting my time protesting, it's finished now no matter how much I don't it to be. A simple banner saying "Stop sacking good managers you twats" on the first day of the season will be enough.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 What a ridiculous thing to come out with. No one even knows yet what really went on, its all speculation at this point. What if....by chance, Pearson really didn't give the owners any other choice than to get rid of him over the Thailand saga? Then what? Are our owners idiots then for not rolling over and letting him get his way?
5waller5 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Please do ..... It'll make getting a season ticket possible!!
siCiteh Posted 1 July 2015 Author Posted 1 July 2015 Maybe we can't change the decision. But: 1) It's not impossible - managers have been reinstated before - incl this one 2) Don't we need to make clear that we will make life difficult if the club put politics, personaility of PR above the team?
shade Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 look pretty silly if you protest and then they unveil jurgen klopp!
Sir Fynwy Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Great idea, send back your season ticket because we're no longer Nigel Pearson City
Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 look pretty silly if you protest and then they unveil jurgen klopp! It would, probably best to leave the public protest until they've employed whichever Sven-like numpty they have lined up.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 What a f***ing stupid post. Yes we are all angry & upset but we don't know who they have lined up yet. If they bring in someone like let's say Lambert then fair enough but for now we have to play a waiting game.

Guest ttfn Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Only time I'd protest is if we interviewed Redknapp.
TrentFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I shall sit in the west stand for the Sunderland game with a very stone-faced demeanour. That should really make the owners sit up and take notice. I wouldn't be surprised if Pearson was reinstated shortly afterwards.
Danizen Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Only time I'd protest is if we interviewed Redknapp. this. Plus Colin, Dowie or Dyche.
paulsherwood1 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Protest? Really? Is Nigel Pearson bigger than Leicester City? He's not the only manager out there you know. People should realise what investment these owners have put in. Many owners would have sacked NP last season for the teams league position, let alone the many incidents along the way. They have not just randomly sacked the man! We don't know the details but from the support they have given him over the years they did not just wake up one morning and sack him. This is a Childish post. Protest my arse. Let's let the full story come out and see who is appointed manager. I'd like to see how many people want to protest if cambiasso is made manager....

Are our owners idiots then for not rolling over and letting him get his way? You make some reasonable points although the idea that protesting is 'ridiculous' does not follow. At the end of the day, Nigel has done wonders for this club and the owners should have moved heaven and earth to accomadate him.
Giggsy77 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Yeah lets protest against it and push the owners away, great idea. How the hell will that solve anything?, the owners have spent millions and still are doing, yet your idea could see them walk away. Despite what anyone thinks, the owners are a bigger part of the club and without them we would be in the crap again. I support Leicester City, not Nigel Pearson, yes its sad to see him go but for lords sake get behind the club. The owners are very shrewd people, they will get this right. HAVE SOME FAITH IN THEM.

siCiteh Posted 1 July 2015 Author Posted 1 July 2015 Great idea, send back your season ticket because we're no longer Nigel Pearson City Or an alternative idea: lets demonstrate to the owners that we will pay £000s every year to support our local team without any opinion on how it is run. Really?

I've seen some over the top replies since the sacking, but this one takes the biscuit! I'm not a Leicester fan because of Nigel Pearson! Leicester City will carry on without Nigel, but without good owners you never know what mess you will end up in! We have good owners and don't know what has gone on behind closed doors at all.

How exactly? They would sell us to someone else, life would go on, the club would go on. All I've heard from people all day is that 'Nigel Pearson' isn't bigger than the club, there are 'other managers out there' - the same goes for the owners in my opinion. If they can't take a bit of criticism, then they're in the wrong business.

Protesting does not mean demanding that the owners leave our club. It means making clear that the fans have a voice and will use it.
