Sorry but for a club of our size that's hardly 'impossible'. In fact we should have won more than that in our time.

 

Others are fair points though, you never know with football. I'd add scraping into the play-offs in 2013 to that list as well. I'll never be 100% sure of anything in football after that day.

If they really haven't got someone lined up it is time for them to get a bag of cash out and buy someone in - the impact of the entire transfer spending plus the on-going wage budget is either reduced or enhanced by the guy in charge...  this is not a time to save an 'apeth of tar

Cambiasso signed for us because we were the best offer (if not the only offer) on the table, Klopp would get better offers than us if he waited, he wants a 'challenge' not a difficult job without an immediate target, I think it'd be boring here whereas at Liverpool or Spurs he could spend £30 million on a player and break into the top 4, spending £8 million on a player to replace Stoke in 9th is less interesting.

Although true to a point, I do have a feeling the owners will be willing to stump up more for better players as we progress. Kram, offer of £12m for Austin. If we stay up I wouldn't be surprised if we're up to the odd £20m signings next summer. But still, Klopp almost certainly won't be interested
