I don't think it would do us any harm to approach him, it signals ambition to our "second choice" if nothing else.

He's also quoted as "he's only a phone call away from managing in England". http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/451892/Liverpool-linked-Jurgen-Klopp-admits-just-phone-call-away-managing-England

Seem we are the only managerless club in the PL does he mean us?

I don't think this would be the same as us approaching Ancelotti or an out of work Mourinho as they aren't interested in any club outside the world's top ten.

Klopp appears to be a bit eccentric and maybe the idea of working with an unfashionable club with little history but a biggish budget, great ambitious owners and a big potential to get great crowds with our City size and catchment are appeals?

I'm probably talking with my heart and not my head but I believe he's maverick enough to give it a little bit of thought and not totally dismiss it out of hand.

Here's to dreaming anyway.

I don't get people saying it's laughable to approach him. I've said it elsewhere but he's quite unorthodox in what will tempt him to a club - it cannot hurt to at least have a go.

I don't expect it to happen though. Whilst he's said he'd accept a non-top job, the likes of Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool all come under that category.

Thought his agent said no one should bother asking him anymore, he got an offer and is starting work tomorrow?

You made a good point the other day which said he might be a 2% chance to except rather than a 0% chance (like an Ancelotti) because of his eccentricity.

When the Deloitte report comes out Leicester City will be amongst the top 30 clubs in world football. There won't be many above us who are more unfashionable and worse history. If he wants a project then here it is.

Also if he is willing to manage a club outside the top four then apart from Liverpool and Tottenham we aren't a million miles behind any of them. So when he says "outside the top four" does he mean just Liverpool and Tottenham or is he willing to delve deeper than that because if he is we have a chance.

I stand by it as well. The bloke is an eccentric but he's a bloody good manager who would in my opinion fit us down to a tee. I think we've got the players to play a similar kind of game to what he played at Dortmund, obviously not as good but they were absolutely full of energy, that's what we're like.

If our owners approached him then that would for me restore a little faith in them. They've got to earth that faith for me now.

Haven't checked Foxestalk for half of the day and about shat myself when I saw the thread title from the home page

lol, I'm sure a few will turn the computer on in the morning all bleary eyed and cornflakes will be spat on the screen when they see it.  :)

- A style of football in place which he would fit seamlessly in to

- A recent world famous great escape

- An extremely good transfer team

- Excellent facilities

- Money

- Full stadium every week, with rumours of expansion

- Cambiasso

- Owners ambition

the more you think about what we've got the more annoying it'll make it when he doesn't come here.

If we get any of most of the managers mentioned so far it will be a total let down and talk of ambition proved to be just talk.

Imagine Cotterill at a press conference with a Leicester scarf aloft in the papers the next day.

Klopp's agent, Marc Kosicke, has already gone on record to state that Klopp's next destination in England doesn't have to be top four. He's open to offers from anyone in the Premier League.

Kosicke said: "The Premier League is very interesting and we do not only think about the top four because there are some great clubs below them.

"When Jurgen signed for Dortmund there were other clubs who had better prestige and were in better financial mood. Nevertheless he decided on Dortmund."

People waking up to seeing this thread title are going to be sooooo pissed!!

I'm an optimist but even this is beyond me.  99.99999% No chance.

Dortmund in fairness are a far bigger club than us and they were before he went there as well. There was absolutely blatant potential to build something there.

I'm not saying it can't be achieved here but their potential is obvious. Best crowds in Europe for starters.

Would add to the German influence we have experienced so far this summer

If he is who he says he is and is up to a challenge we should at least make a move for him and show what we have to offer.

At least we'll have a new motto for the Club, 'Cur Non Irrumabo?'

'Why the f*** not' in Latin (google translate)

I don't think Klopp will get to go to Liverpool anytime soon, but If he was to go to Liverpool, then I'd

sooner we waited for Rogers to come here instead of some of the names being linked with us. He's a top

Manager and Coach.

Which leaves it highly possible he could come here.

I wonder if he would be tempted. Or whether he could be tempted?

Look at the "not top 4 but a building job" clubs........... I doubt Everton will ditch Martinez. Koeman is very stable at Southampton. Pochettino is on the cusp of rebuilding the Spurs team, and pursuing Alderweireld would suggest unless they flop early doors hes not going.

The only real alternative is Liverpool, who are a poinsonned chalice and seem destined to lose arguably their best player.

I dont know im getting carried away. Forget all of that.

That is exactly what I want to happen. I doubt the club have the patience for that though.

Maybe we can get Klopp and when Brendan Rodgers gets the sack, Klopp goes to Liverpool, and we get Rodgers.

I reckon if we all bet our life savings on him coming to leicester we could guilt him into coming here.

I would be absolutely shocked if they haven't reached out to him or aren't at least planning to do so. Surely they have.

Something I mentioned in the big manager thread: Another aspect of Klopp that might attract the Thais is his relationship with Shinji Kagawa. Kagawa was reported to have taken Klopp's departure the hardest out of all the Dortmund players. He's certainly at the top of their want list as far as getting Asian players.
