Izzy Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 End of story. I doubt this is the end of this story - just a hunch
Webbo Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 I like Webbo but he's become very insufferable lately with his astonishing bias towards the owners as if they're doing us a favour. They'll get criticism just as any manager or player would if they did questionable things. The official site should be for news on football matters. Polo has nothing to do with it and it's not right this is being plugged on our website. End of story. Thanks Kitch, I think you're sweet too. I see people who in my eyes have never knowingly done the club a bad turn being lambasted for doing what they believe is the right thing. So much of the criticism is contradictory , totally ridiculous, irrelevant or based on what some people imagined had happened. It bothers me, sorry if you don't like it but I'm not going to change.
john doe Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Bored of their low profile arnt they.we'll bring in a couple of world class players and bobs your auntie
Frank to be Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 The sensible ones were. They're not real football fans and they can't possibly understand real football fans. Why some people just assumed they were the perfect owners I have no idea. Naivety, I guess. This is one of 3 football clubs in the top division to oppose safe-standing. The other 2 were Liverpool and Everton. I've no idea why they've always been so popular, other than the fact they're rich. They care no more about the fans than Mandaric did, and there was always a percentage of fans who didn't like him. Please provide the criteria for being a "real football fan" and explain how the owners don't meet it.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 The owners win a polo tournament, so what? They've not spent any of your money, they're not doing it on your time. They've announced it on the club's site, big deal, they own it. How has it adversely affected anyone? It's moaning for moaning's sake. LCFC fans on the internet moaning for moaning sake? Never! Let's face it, some our lot are only happy when they've got something negative to say. Strange folk but hey ho.
inckley fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Why do you always assume I'm talking about you? My original post in this thread was a general comment on the level of needless complaining about nothing in it. I hadn't even noticed that you'd posted. Hold on - you were responding to my post! And I never said your comments were directed specifically at me, I didn't think they were, though it would have been perfectly reasonable for me to come to the conclusion that you had 'noticed' my post, seeing as you were answering it.

I made a general comment not aimed at any one individual. Nobody really. It's just an excuse to abuse the owners. If Pearson hadn't have been sacked everyone would be saying how great the owners are. and you responded with your usual essay. I never said you got emotional or you threw things around. You're obfuscating and arguing against things nobody's said.

You're obfuscating and arguing against things nobody's said. No, you've made yourself look a little daft again by saying you hadn't noticed a post when, as it turns out, you'd posted something in direct response to it. That's not a problem, I've done far sillier things myself on more than one occasion, but there's no point denying you've done it. Now you're accusing me of arguing about something which, if you'd bothered to read my message, I specifically stated I wasn't. For the second time, I never said your comments were aimed at me, nor did I think they were, even if they were written in direct response to my post. I was simply saying that we're here to discuss all things Leicester City, not only Pearson, and the 'moaning' about the polo post was hardly hysterical, or over-the-top, so I couldn't see what the problem was in commenting on it. That seems reasonable enough to me, but maybe I'm missing something. As for the 'usual essay', well if you insist on being so fervent in your misrepresentation of what people you disagree with are saying, then don't be surprised if they take the time to point out where you're wrong.

jimmeh Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Some on here are unreal tbh. You seem to think you run the football club. I keep hearing all this 'the supporters own the club' nonsense. Ermmmmmm no. You go and watch a football team funded by millionaires. Without wealthy owners we would be in league 1.
inckley fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Keep telling yourself that.Obviously I was talking about your first response . But that's not the post of mine that you quoted and highlighted when you said that people were 'moaning for moaning's sake'. Which is quite clearly the comment that I was referring to in the following post. In fact I quoted said post, and referred to it more than once in my response. Your answer to this, directly, was 'why do you always assume I'm talking about you?' Well, you know, I never did assume that, I was just saying that people didn't seem to be moaning all that much, but the ones that were moaning had a point. Albeit a very minor one. I fail to see the great problem here - you didn't realise I'd posted even though you were responding to me when you said people were 'moaning for moaning's sake'. You got a little confused, maybe, but that's alright. I'm sure we can both live with it.

And who is saying 'the supporters own the club'? I must have missed a tidal wave of posts there.

inckley fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 You're boring me now. Well, I can see you're going to be grown up about this, so maybe we should leave it. For future reference, try not responding to messages you haven't noticed, then refusing to acknowledge you've made what is, after all, a fairly trivial error, then getting all grumpy and upset about being called out for it, and trying to pretend something entirely different happened. Then you won't need to get bored by people pointing out how childish you're being.

And the time spent before it in the third division without sugar daddy billionaires
inckley fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 You are persistent - I'll give you that!! Probably. I enjoy the arguments, personally, and I've got nothing against Webbo or anyone else. They're only silly little disagreements about football, after all.
fuchsntf Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 I like Polo...spent all my life looking for that bit in the middle.

Must admit I did find this Polo thing of theirs on Citys website pretty uncomfortable and kinda nauseating...
SystonFox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 If this article had been published after our championship title parade the replies would be "we r MASSVIE!!!!!1!!!!1!1!1!!!1!1!1!1111!!!!!one!!!!!!!! M8!!!!" But now Pearsons gone and Cambiasso isn't coming back all of a sudden our owners are the worst thing since Vincent Tan, our kit will be pure gold next season and we will have relocated to Bangkok. Anyone who didn't realise that our owners are using us to drive their own company is, simply put, naive. We are just a marketing tool. The premier league is one of the biggest platforms in the world to get your name out there and they helped to get us here which, let's be honest, we were all loving. But now it isn't so rosey with big Nige gone and no centre midfielders we aren't such big fans of our owners. Yet again more football fans in being fickle shocker

Yet again more football fans in being fickle shocker I don't know, people tend to respond to events; opinions change according to what happens. The board have made a couple of huge calls this summer, it's only normal that people question their previous assumptions. I mean, Martin George was considered a good chairman because of two decisions he made, in 1991 and 1995. Whole regimes are defined by one or two solitary decisions. Previously, on balance, our board appeared to have been a very good thing, though a lot of that hinged on Pearson. Now, for some, there's been a bit of a reassessment of that verdict. But if it works out people will be fully behind them all over again. It won't make a polo tournament any more relevant to Leicester City Football Club, but people will cease to be so bothered about whether we were horrid to Big Nige or not. Now we can't justify that decision because we've not been given any reasons for it, but it doesn't mean the board has burnt its bridges. It may well work out beautifully. Problem is, people are conscious of how easily all of this could go wrong. They're wondering whether they should still be overjoyed with the board but, equally, I think they'll hold fire before they turn on them!

Yet again more football fans in being fickle shocker As I have already said; Well it just shows how they've damaged the relationship with the fans doesn't it and the importance of hitting the ground running when the season starts, if we don't it'll be toxic and then they'll be some 'abuse' i'm sure. If we do, it'll go a long way to restoring the relationship, but won't completely fix it. As it goes I don't actually have that much of a problem with it (And don't believe I have posted that I have an issue with it ), I don't agree nor disagree with their publication of this but I can understand why people are moaning due to the ultimately damaged relationship.
