The 14-8 victory proved to be their second major trophy in two months, with success at the Cartier Queen’s Cup Finals coming in June. image: http://www.lcfc.com/cms_images/polo-lineup-480280-2570384.jpg With the help of Vice-Chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha’s two goals, King Power’s dominant polo team overcame UAE in a final that was witnessed by a crowd of over 15,000 in West Sussex. The victory proved to be the first for Top and Englishman Hugo Lewis, the second for Gonzalito Pieres and the third for Facundo Pieres – one of only a handful of players to have an elite 10-goal handicap image: http://www.lcfc.com/cms_images/polo-top-480280-2570386.jpg “We tried, we wanted to win because we had a very good team,” Top said. “The organisation worked great, and this is such a great achievement for everybody. “Next year is going to be difficult. I don't think we will have the same team, because Hugo's going to have his handicap raised. However, we will try. For the moment, we are going to celebrate and take some days off.” image: http://www.lcfc.com/cms_images/polo-scoreboard-480280-2570385.jpg Also in attendance was Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who watched on as his side finished the season with a perfect 12-0 record following the British Gold Cup triumph. Everyone at Leicester City Football Club would like to congratulate Khun Vichai, Khun Top and the King Power Foxes team for their outstanding achievements this season. davieG Posted 25 July 2015 Author Posted 25 July 2015 What is this doing on the football club website? It's Leicester City can't you see the shirts they are wearing.
AKCJ Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 ****ing hell If this was anyone else we'd rip them to shreds
Guest Mee-9 Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Shit's given - 0. I wonder if one of the owners won the worlds first masturbation championships, if that'd be on the homepage for us to peruse.
Soar Fox Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Now expect the manager to be sacked and replaced by a more "high profile" name
Nalis Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 That'll be our name this time next year Why do you think Andy King plays so much?
Frank to be Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 ****ing hell If this was anyone else we'd rip them to shreds Would you? What for? Having an active interest in other sports? you must be incredibly narrow minded
80footgiraffe Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 I honestly don't care. Focus on getting players in.
davieG Posted 25 July 2015 Author Posted 25 July 2015 I honestly don't care. Focus on getting players in. You want the owners to be getting the players in?
EnglishOxide Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Would you? What for? Having an active interest in other sports? you must be incredibly narrow minded More that the owners think anybody else gives a shit about their hobby. Its not relevant to LCFC at all. It seems they got bored of their 'low profile' status again.

It seems they got bored of their 'low profile' status again. I'm with you here. The King Power Foxes have nothing to do with Leicester or football. I have no idea why they feel the need to draw the connection themselves.
ozleicester Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 the owners are used to success, they own successful teams. (mind you, im opposed to Polo)
Frank to be Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 More that the owners think anybody else gives a shit about their hobby. Its not relevant to LCFC at all. It seems they got bored of their 'low profile' status again. I'm not sure they're expecting you to give a shit though. They haven't said they expect city fans to be pleased, have they? Of course, plenty of people do like and are interested in polo just like plenty of people like lots of other sports. I can't believe that anyone would be so narrow minded that they don't understand the concept of different people liking different things, so that leaves the conclusion that people are using this as yet another stick to beat the owners. Criticising them for liking, being involved in and successful at another sport has got to be the most desperate, embarrassing criticism yet.
EnglishOxide Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Frank, seriously mate. Get a hold of yourself. Why have you deliberately come down on the wrong side of the argument and drawn the wrong conclusion from my post. They put this on the Leicester City Football Club website. They've used the Leicester City nickname. Its self indulgance and unashamed King Power promotion. If that is not the reason, then its a personal hobby where they happen to get there mug photographed with their hands on another trophy. That's why I'm criticising it, not because I don't like polo.

Fair enough, didn't actually notice it was on the LCFC website, probably no need for that, but I can't see how it does any harm, and it's not as I the owners themselves put it there, is it?

And they add the congratulations of the Leicester City football team. They are drawing a definite connection between their polo success and their management of the club, that's beyond question. What I don't understand is why they'd feel the need to do it. It's got no connection with either Leicester or football. Like somebody else said, maybe they're trying to show that all of their sporting teams are successful, in a bid to convince us that they are good leaders of sports teams. I can't think of any other conceivable reason. But if that's the case then a set of owners who are increasingly suspected of believing that they're heading for elite status in footballing terms, with elite players and an elite manager - and, consequently, stand accused of the classic 'delusions of grandeur' cliche - would also therefore be equating success in Dubai with a polo team, with that of an English Premier League side. My concern isn't that they've done well. It's that they think us knowing about it will make them look like more competent football club owners. That they've made such a silly association does nothing to add to their credibility.
J.Lisemore Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Its clearly a ploy to promote their company. Exactly the same as owning our football club is. You'd have to be a bit naive to think otherwise.
