Drugs in Sport - again

Another interesting story in the Guardian this week.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/aug/02/anti-doping-agency-suspect-testing-claims-800-athletes-olympics

These days ive lost my passion and hatred about drugs in sport, there are certainly many more things to be angry about, many more injustices that deserve my complaints. I accepted sometime ago that many, if not most, "star" cyclists, athletes and swimmers are using performance enhancing drugs etc. So be it, ive lost interest in the Olympics and the tour etc.

I also assume there is some level of use and abuse in football, but, am i fooling myself in that i don't think it can make that much difference in football. Sure i imagine it can perhaps improve recovery and maybe some speed and muscle.

But football is still more about skill and i dont THINK the drugs help there.

Am i fooling myself, is the EPL full of drug taking cheats who's real skills and abilities are 20% lower than i see on the park each weekend... or in fact, do i care?

I can't imagine a fat line of ket doing anyone any good if they're hoping to then play football

Be ****ing entertaining though. More so than watching half our games last year, from palace away to about hull away.

might explain akinbadbuy.

im not sure it always makes a difference, alex rodriguez , 3rd basman for the yankees was caught usig PED's and banned for a season, he's returned this year and is still smashing the ball around the park like he always has

In football it wouldn't make that much of a difference because physicality alone isn't enough, it's much more important to be good on the ball than it is to run fast.

I think a lot of people only attribute PED use to bulking, which is why they don't feel like it would be helpful in this sport. But a big reason why professional athletes use PEDs is to help them recover from injuries quicker, or improve general endurance.

the drug olympics would be brilliant, so everybody is on as strong stuff as they can get, 6 second 100m would be quite good
