Ric Flair Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 He's been probably the best Sven signing along with Schmeichel. I was desperate for him to sign all of that summer and I remember that Fourth Official on twitter had said he'd agreed to join very early on and it took ages to finally be announced. Anyway, he's done very well for us. He was the next level striker from the likes of Fryatt, Hume and Howard we'd had for the mediocre years before that. He did infuriate me at times but he still came up with the goods when we needed him and he will go down as a very good player for us. Boro have a perfect striker to try and get promoted and I can see him scoring against us several times before his career is out. Cheers Nuge, all the best. Some of his goals have been sensational.
An Away Move Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 How important is one player's personality in terms of overall squad moral? Nugent seems to be the kind of guy who'd improve the morale of any work environment. He seems such a positive character, whilst also being the kind of guy who always puts in a shift. I think it's great business for the club if we get £4m for him. Just wondering how the overall chemistry of a team gets affected by inevitable squad changes. All the best Nuge. You've been great for us and I'm happy you're leaving on a high.
80footgiraffe Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 A true servant to the club, will be very fondly remembered and good luck to him in future.
dorsetboy Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 sad to see nuge leave has been great for us as a player. this guy also did a heck of a lot of charity stuff and was always at one hospital or another or visiting sick kids , hope he has a cracking season at borough
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Sad to see him go but think its best for everyone. He deserves to be playing regular football.
dbtcity Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Bye Nugent. True hero and a essential player in our promotion campaign. Wish you all the best in your new career. It's not a career move for the lad is it..... 4m for a kit man seems expensive
dbtcity Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 All the best at boro nuge, can't thank you enough for all your goals in the championship!!! Played a massive part in us being where we are
NewburyFox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Bye Nuge, been a great player for us and was an integral cog in helping us to get where we are. I wouldn't have minded him staying but £4m is too much to turn down for a bit part player. He should get regular first team football for Boro too so everybody wins.
Jace Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Hang on has there even been an official announcement on this yet!?
filbertstreet Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/david-nugent-departs-leicester-to-join-middlesbrough-2619078.aspx cheers lad, was good having you here
Jace Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Club legend, when you think about it he joined on a free and was sold for £4 million, he would have barely cost us anything for the 4 years he's been here and been a great servant
