League Cup: Bury Post Match 1-4

Fair play....

He'll get better for us I think.

yeah definitely, like I said mentally/technically he was doing most the right things but with a very wet pitch, an in your face bury team and perhaps not a lot of game time in the past 4 or 5 months not much of it was working out how he was presumably planning.

he'll be fine in a few weeks I'm sure.

Question is...would you be happy if he turned into a Jeff Schlupp Mk 2?

I don't see what is wrong with Schlupp, I think he gets a lot of criticism about his game even though he is still young and developing. Personally think he has improved his defensive game and looks one of our best players so far.

So on that basis yes I would be very happy to have Schlupp 2.0 lol

Inler played some outstanding long balls out to the wings but his short passes seemed to miss the target more often than not. Kante looked excellent and Dodoo is an exciting prospect.

Schlupp 2.0 tonight, young academy player scoring hat trick on debut in the cup by a foreign manager.

#itssvenalloveragain lol

Won 4-1 in that game as well and weirdly played Bury in the next round (when he scored again and we got 4 again).

Kante was like if schlupp dropped a few Es pre game and was even less technically gifted. But in a really good way.

Less technically gifted than Schlupp? Aren't we planning on playing him in a two-man central midfield? Skausu :(

in the most enjoyable and best and entertainingest way possible though trust me. I love him already.

That's enough for me. :trumpet:

whoever came up with him being the next makelele couldn't have been much more wrong like but he is the next someone great because he's just great imo

I thought Kante was by far the best player on the pitch, clearly a fantastic tackler and then drives forward with the ball. Inler played okay, had the right ideas but gave it away a lot.

A good win, marred by some moronic Bury fans.

Went to sleep for 30 minutes after half-time, Ulloa looks knackered or disinterested sadly...... I suspect the greasy pitch wasn't helping anyone, and sitting back just invited problems, some wavelength issues at times 2nd half.

Everything else seemed to go rather well - couldn't tell who stuffed up for their goal but I was impressed by Benalouane overall.

The Bury school kids had had a few too many Red Bulls, methinks......

Over on the Bury forum they seem to think Kante was by far the best player for us.  They all seemed to pick up on his pace and they thought even Usain Bolt would have a race on against him over short distances  lol

Just saw the first goal on Twitter. What a cheek. He has no right doing that at his age. And Man Utd have been given the go ahead (allehedly) to buy Naymar for 250m. Not a patch on our Dodo-o

Good win, sounded a bit shakey at the back at times! Great news for Dodoo! Great that we're producing talent

Also, Kante sounded good!

Great result and thanks for those who posted the goals up.

Sounds like Kante is a real find (I say that semi-tongue in cheek as he is well known in France and wasn't cheap).  I think it was actually Ranieri who said he was like Makelele actually.  From what I've seen from him in the league and also French highlights, he seems more box to box rather than a sitter.  Maybe a Deschamps "water carrier" more than pure "destroyer"?

Really happy for Dodoo.  He's been a threat whenever I've seen him in the U21s and great he took the opportunity with both hands.  I think he is a way better natural finisher than Jeff so I'm not sure the other similarities other than youth team who progressed through the ranks and has pace (plus scored hat trick in cup).

Disappointed in conceding a sloppy goal again.  Need to sort that out but loving that we are scoring.  If anything, some of this team might have played their way into the squad for Saturday (good thing to have).  Also, am I right that Moore also played in the U21s or is there another Moore in the squad?
