League Cup: Bury Post Match 1-4

Great result and thanks for those who posted the goals up.

Sounds like Kante is a real find (I say that semi-tongue in cheek as he is well known in France and wasn't cheap).  I think it was actually Ranieri who said he was like Makelele actually.  From what I've seen from him in the league and also French highlights, he seems more box to box rather than a sitter.  Maybe a Deschamps "water carrier" more than pure "destroyer"?

Really happy for Dodoo.  He's been a threat whenever I've seen him in the U21s and great he took the opportunity with both hands.  I think he is a way better natural finisher than Jeff so I'm not sure the other similarities other than youth team who progressed through the ranks and has pace (plus scored hat trick in cup).

Disappointed in conceding a sloppy goal again.  Need to sort that out but loving that we are scoring.  If anything, some of this team might have played their way into the squad for Saturday (good thing to have).  Also, am I right that Moore also played in the U21s or is there another Moore in the squad?

Here's hoping he has the same impact in the league cup on his debut as a certain Jeff Schlupp

Watched Claudio closely from my position in the stadium and he was obsessed with the defensive positioning of our midfield and went bat shite crazy at them a few times. Interesting to watch.

we now have a top scorer in the League Cup!!!

....................oh yeah, and we also have the top scorer in the Premier league

Mahrez - 4 goals this season.

Dodoo - 3 goals this season.

Man Utd - 2 goals this season!

Benalouane is an absolute car crash defender.

I agree, I was at the game and personally thought he looked terrible! He got bullied by Tom Pope. Inler wasn't quite at it and I don't think Ulloa looked great but Kante and Dodoo were awesome. So much pace with them 2 and they never stopped running

Kante and Dodoo looked out best players by far. Kante's pace and directness will fit in with our style of play, especially when possession turns over in our favour.

Thought Inler was class first half, but 2nd half not so much. Obviously a bit rusty still. Ulloa had a poor game and mostly was easily defended against by their CB who had a really good game. However, you can't argue with 3 assists! Thought Fuchs used the ball well. Benaloune looked fast and strong but clumsy. Wouldn't like to see him against Aguero etc.

Thought Kante was outstanding, the manner in which he continually won the ball was beautiful to watch, the way in which he drove forwards with it positively after even more so.

Not overly impressed with Inler, looked unfit, sloppy passing and conceded a couple of silly fouls. Benalouane, as somebody said above, an absolute car crash defender. Ok as back up but nothing more.

Thought Moore had a good game at RB too.

Thought 1-4 was very flattering to us. Far too defensive in the second half and nearly paid the price for it. Delighted for Dodoo who's similarities to Schlupp's senior debut are absolutely uncanny. Kante our best player for me. Inler largely awful. Last five minutes were ridiculous lol

Cheers CB!

Dodoo's celebrations weren't very team centric though - ran by Leo after he scored the first although it was a "worldy" as that man Stringer says

FFS! The lad didn't know what to do.

Look at his first goal....he started about 3 different celebrations before just collapsing to the floor in a sort of 'WTF just happened' reaction.

The main positive from the game was clearly Dodoo's hat trick. Really pleased for him.

I'd say 4-1 flattered us though, for sure. We really struggled to keep hold of the ball and really get hold of the game.

Inler was disappointing but shown glimpses of class and Kante was by far the best player on the pitch.

I was frustrated for Kram when he got subbed off so early, it should have been Ulloa who I thought was awful.

Agreed. But we all know unless he scores, he offers little else.

Were the Napoli fans who said that he shoots all the time but never gets them on target any more and that he's slow as anything right then?

he's been here a week right?

At this early stage i'm just glad to see that he appears to be really well settled with the players, ran a good few yards to celebrate with dodoo for his first goal.

Reminded me a bit of a early cambiasso performance, he needs to find fitness and adjust to his team mates.

Chill out!

Just watched the interview and he seems a lovely lad.
