League Cup: Bury Post Match 1-4

If you look at the stats, his goalscoring record has actually improved over the years.

Plus, I've never understood the notion that a defensive midfielder ought to be a prolific goalscorer, as well.

Scored 6 goals in his second season (31 matches) and then 3 since then in 51 matches, and me neither but people here were using it as if it's a major draw towards him and Napoli fans were saying whenever he gets the opportunity, he shoots

Ulloa looks really good throughout!

It'll sound dumb but even though he got three assists, he was completely useless, dominated by their defence and his first touch was rubbish.

I'm really pleased the new signings got a game. CR had to have a proper look at them. Otherwise there'd maybe be a fear factor in changing a (so far) winning formula.

I've seen Kanté a couple of times now (coming on as sub) and I really do reckon he looks the business. It doesn't surprise me he was the pick at Bury. I'd like to see him start on Saturday.

Sounds like Inler needs a bit more time to adapt. Praps not surprising.

I would have loved to have watched last night but couldn't find a stream. Highlights I've seen look like shooting fish in a barrel, though it clearly wasn't like that. Pleased for Dodoo, Schlupp gimmed him his hat trick - good man Jeff!

I'd love to know what the story with Kramaric is though. The guy's talented, you can see that, but I'm not sure we know how best to play him. Maybe there are questions about his work rate and/or team ethic - dunno. With the current formation, I reckon he's just going to have to wait for his chance. Short of injury or lack of form with Vardy or Okazaki, I just can't see Kramaric getting a look in. There's a ways to go yet though.

I was more referring to his club record over the years - he's scored more goals per game at Napoli than he did at Udinese or Zurich, for instance.

As for his urge to shoot, I think I've never seen him try less attempts on goal than last season.

I wouldn't take the Napoli fans' word for granted, most of them tend to exaggerate, anyway. In particular the ones who have never liked the guy.

Devil's advocate alert:

Goals conceded:

Us - 5

Man U - 0

Points - 7

Man U also put 3 past Brugge in a CL qualifier, and will likely add to that total tonight.

But I think it's funny that we have Kramaric and Ulloa on the bench, with Dodoo in the u21s, and they may play Fellaini as a forward. lol

Players don't always have good games, but if ulloa can play bad and get 3 assists I'd take that every week, looked close with a few headers aswell. He'll be important later in the season when we need to rotate the squad due to injuries/form. Just got to wait for his chance.

Champs league qualifiers don't count haha

Hey up, did you go? Sounded like the home fans got a bit mardy towards the end?

Ray

Yeah I was there. It was a small section of the fans closest to our lot. Just a load of kids acting up really, if they actually wanted to do something they quite easily could have.

The little kiddies in the corner was as hilarious as it was sad. It would have been interesting to see what would've happened had some of our lot 'try and pay them a visit,' which I genuinely thought was going to happen when it kicked off with Moore. I'd have thought brown underpants and a sprint to the exits would've been in order for them. Amazing how hard you think you are behind an advertising hoarding.

Back to school next week for most of those lot, for the rest who actually work, Jesus Christ they need to get a life.

As for the game; comfortable, simple, bit dodgy in the second half like Sunderland and West Ham, and really pleased for Dodoo.

Kante was absolutely class. Dodoo very impressive.

Inler was good in the first half then the game (and ball) just seemed to bypass him in the second half.

I thought Liam Moore was very, very average and looked shakey.

Fuchs was solid - some great corner deliveries.

YB and Was were solid.

Real battle for Ulloa last night. The bury defence really roughed him up, he did well for the goals.

Ah okay, fair.

We made 11 changes to our starting XI, including 5 full debutants, with a further 3 on the bench who have never played a game of professional football.

West Brom & Stoke needed penalties; Villa and Palace needed extra time; Watford lost; Sunderland were pushed at home and were lucky to come through.

A good evenings work all round.

We seem to cope with these away matches at lower league better than home. We've scored four past Bury twice, Rotherham, Torquay, five at Carlisle in the last four years. Contrast that with Burton and Shrewsbury at home.

A bit late but I thought Kante was brilliant yesterday, Joe Dodoo looks like a good talent in that he seemed very athletic (relatively quick and also won a few headers!) and his finishing was superb for all three goals.

Inler showed glimpes of brilliance in some of his passing but I think he just lacks a bit of match sharpness and of course needs to get used to english football.

I cant quite work out the criticism of Benalouane, he was the pick of the defenders for me, surprisingly seems to have a good touch and pass for a central defender.
